  I see that you wonder if you need to replace the color cartridge when it is low. This printer is a printer AIO, therefore, you need to replace the ink cartridge when it becomes too weak to be able to resume printing. However, if you print mostly in black, you can configure a preset black only to print in black and white. This would help reduce the use of the color cartridges.

  NOTE: Composite black - for black and white images and photos, a mix of colors called 'composite black' can be used to achieve the quality significantly improved picture and soft gray tones that can be achieved with only black toner. For users who want to print images using just black toner, many HP printers color customer offer configurable options allowing the client to print using only black toner. For example, by selecting "print in grayscale" in the printer driver Specifies print using black ink only.   According to the other thread that I have commented on the user managed to solve the problem of roll back firmware version 20160331 to 20150716 .  Unfortunetly the user did not comment if the old version of firmware is out so that we can share a simlilar solution.  It may be that this person had a copy archived in offline mode or found another source outside the HP support Web site.

  At least you can get an older version of firmware all the steps that we share for the firmware downgrade won't do you no good.  I'd be careful to search a German site for firmware updates.  HP has put regional locks in place according to international contracts, that they do to market their products in a given region.  Using a German firmware on a printer WE made may have strange side effects on what types of cartridges are allowed.

  What is perhaps a better use of your time would be to contact your 3rd party cartridge company and see if they can send you a cartridge that is compatible with the new firmware.  Chances are that they have seen the same problem with other users and already have a chipset to work around the problem.  In this way, you can stay on the newest firmware and continue to use your favorite too cartridges.

  I see that you are unable to scan / install with HP Officejet Pro 8600 Windows 8.1 computer, I would like to offer a helping hand. I would you run the Installation Wizard of HP printer on the computer to acquire the software, it will download and install for you. Which is to remove the PSDr on your computer, you should be able to just drag the icon to your trash can (on the desktop). Of my knowledge and use of the PSDr is not installed on the computer, it will extract temporary files whenever the icon is open. Type %temp%, and then press ENTER, search the 7z files and delete them (you can delete all files and folders from here, if you wish).   But basically when you save the file, you can select the format.  In the drop down next to Format: select JPEG or any other file format you want.

  To set this as a default use the Edit option in presets to create a new or edit and existing preset.

  I don't know if this is possible.  What happened is a person on the network loaded a print driver and used your ip address, by mistake, or whether and his work has been sent to your printer with the incorrect coding resulting in all pages.   I checked the site hp.com, but what they have there is PCL5 x 64 drivers, which gives me a 'printer driver is not installed. Message operation could not be completed.

  Just for fun, I tried to download the drivers for PCL6 Windows 7 x 64, and trying to set up the printer with these, but it gives me a message "Windows is unable to locate a suitable printer driver.

  Where can I find the Windows Server 2003 PCL6 drivers x 64?

  As any pcl6 driver will work, why not just load any pcl6 64-bit driver that is built into the operating system.  Simply choose hp on the left and choose any color laserjet 64-bit driver on the right.  If none is available, download the driver 64 bit hp universal pcl6.  When loading the driver do not have system autodect the printer but load the driver manually.

  I have just installed a HP color laserjet mfp575dn.  I could finally get the printer screen to show printing of the USB option but not the option "save to USB.

  No idea how to activate this feature?  This printer is connected via usb and want him to be able to scan to PC.  I see that there is a scan to network folder option but in any directly to PC via usb?

There are a lot of .inf files in the directory. I had no idea which one I should choose.   One supports network connections, the other being a pilot plug-and-play (PnP) is configured to initialize and works with a USB connection.
