Color LaserJetPro M177, other: sharing printers of HP network suddenly cannot be installed on the network

I don't know if this forum is the right place to post a question to the enterprise level.  But here's my problem:

I work for a public school district.  We have a number of HP laser printers installed in various laboratories and classrooms in the district.  These printers are connected to our network and are shared through our print server, PS1, which runs Windows Server R2 2012.  Until very recently, we have had no problem installing, sharing, and use of these printers in this method.  I mean, basically, use us management of printing on PS1 to create a TCP/IP port, then install the HP drivers for the printer you want, and then create the shared printer.  It is relatively simple.

However, at some point during 3-4 months, things stopped working.  We can always install printers HP on PS1 as before, namely, but on a client PC (Win7 Pro x 64), when we sail to PS1 and doubleclick, the driver printer to install it, we get a message that says:

"A policy is in effect on your computer that prevents you to connect to this queue.  Please contact your system administrator. »

This would seem to indicate a problem within group policy.  But the thing is, we had not brought no change in the strategy of group before the encounter this problem.  (We made some changes after seeing this error, to try to fix it, but nothing works).

This problem seems to affect all THE HP printers that do not use the universal print driver.  We discovered that, for some reason, the UPD to PCL6, printing, v5.7.0, works fine.  However, not all HP printers are compatible with this driver.   For printers,'re missing us a workaround solution.  We have not had this problem with other printers shared through our print server - such as our brand printer Sharp 30/copiers or printers Brother 15 or more.  Those that all continue to work properly.

It may be only 64 customers who are affected.  However, as computing has changed strongly in the paradigm of 64-bit, we have a few 32-bit workstations left on our network with which we can test.  And anyway, it wouldn't matter if it DOES not work on 32-bit clients, because all computer is now firmly 64-bit.  We need these drivers to work under a 64-bit paradigm.

Of course, I checked to make sure that I am downloading the drivers of HP.  Where a printer is not compatible with the universal print driver, I have download Win7 x 64 driver.  Of course I don't want the full installer, so I try to download a barebones driver, if available.  If it is not checked out, I extract it using 7zip.  I then copy them to a directory "drivers" on the print server.  Then I open the server print management, create my port if it does not already exist and then do a right-click drivers and choose "install".  When you are prompted to select a driver to install, I choose "Disk" and navigate to the directory where the driver exists.  After the installation of the driver, I have printers right click and choose "Add a printer", and then I select the driver that I just installed when prompted.

I then go to a client computer, go to \\PS1 (the server) and select the name of the printer that I want to install in the list of all the printers on PS1.  It is when I get the error described above.  I get this error, regardless of the level of permissions that has my account.  I get when I log using my District business administrator credentials.

In the event logs on the client machine (Microsoft/Windows/PrintService/Admin), I get the following message after one of these attempts to pilot install:

Description:

The print spooler could not import the printer driver that has been downloaded from \\ps1\print$\x64\PCC\ntprint.inf_amd64_a7ac65d1b7714fb1.cab in the driver store for the driver HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177 PCLmS. code error = 800f024b. This can happen if there is a problem with the driver or the digital signature of the driver.

The printer that generated this message was a Color LaserJet Pro M177, but we have lived this message with any other HP printer models, including the LaserJet P3015.

What is more revealing, in Journal of the client PC to install (c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log), any attempt to install one of these 'broken' HP drivers generates the following output:

From c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log:

Impossible to check the file 'UNIRES. DLL' against the catalog. Catalog = ntprint.cat, error = 0xE000024B

!!!  Sto: catalogue contained no hash of the file. File is probably damaged or a victim of manipulation.

!!!  Sto: Driver package seems to be corrupted, and it will not be installed.

!!!  Sto: impossible to import the driver package in the driver store. Error = 0xE000024B

Sto: {stage Driver Package: exit (0xe000024b)} 10:57:24.124

It's the only omission or error that appears in the setupapi.dev.log, then it would be to think that it is the real culprit - Windows does not allow the installation of the driver, because it cannot verify the digital signature of the UNIRES. DLL, which rained investigatoin reveals himself as one files contained in hpcm177_64.cab.

So.  HP.  Does this mean that you ship pilots who incorrectly signed?  Or maybe you adjust Unires.dll in these pilots AFTER their signature?  Or is it possible that the problem is a kind of problem of configuration on our side?  Or is this question is beyond the scope of this forum of HP?  If this is the case, please direct me to where I could ask this question to a more receptive ear?

I think I found the root cause of the problem.  Ran across this post by Doug_Wright also on the HP forums:
http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/LaserJet-printing/solved-A-policy-is-in-effect-on-your-computer-which-prevents/m-p/5721939/highlight/true#M291619

He said he received the same exact message we get when trying to install a printer on the network: "a policy is in effect on your computer that prevents you to connect to this queue."

He said: "turns out be an update of KB3170455print spooler security.»  Uninstall this update fixed the issue. »

I have tested this fix on my network, and it has indeed solved the problem.  After removing KB3170455 from a post test and restart, we once more able to install this worsktation HP network printers without receiving the message 'political prevents you to connect.

However, some additional tests will be needed, as corrected by KB3170455 vulnerabilities are certainly valid - and my network is a public school district, it is certainly still 'at risk' for attacks of students wishing to test their abilities of "piracy".  But even still, it's good to finally know what really is the cause of this problem.  Before, I was grabbing at straws.

This issue just started about 4 days after years of good impression on the computers in the homegroup.  Nothing I know came to start this problem.

Printers cannot be seen by the remote PC that needs to connect to printers via homegroup.  Printers, 2, a laser and the other color ink jet, showed both on the remote PC called but also showed "offline", I tried to find ways to put on line, but nothing could fill this function. I read a suggestion that I should remove the printer and then recharge it.  I removed the printer and is where I found that I couldn't see the printer on the network of homegroup to reload.

I rebooted the bridge and the two PCs and turned off the firewall and virus protection software and closed the Group residential and the recreated homegroup and pretty much any other start-up base and installation process you can think, and nothing gets my functional printers through the remote PC.  I even physically removed one of the printers of the main PC and deleted the software and then reconnected and recharged and have made sure I have the latest drivers and it made no difference at all.

  • Sharing printers has stopped working for me. MacBook Air "think" printer is not connected.

Sharing printers has stopped working for me. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R340 connected by USB to my Mac Mini end of 2012, and until recently, my MacBook Air has been able to print to it. Now, he 'thinks' the printer is not connected. Computers are on WiFi. Both computers have an OS X 10.11.5 now and the latest driver of Epson printer. Printer sharing is enabled in preferences, sharing, and "Share this printer on the network" is checked in the preferences, printers and Scanners. I went through the hoops to remove the printer and add it again on the Mini and the MacBook Air.

Of course, the Mini prints very well via USB. Someone has an idea (that I have not already tried) how to get the sharing of printers to work again?

Other sharing services work, such as the file and screen sharing?

Have you checked the settings > General > accessibility > greyscale > power off.

If this does not work ty settings > General > accessibility > zoom > on. Triple, tap the screen with three fingers. Tap choose filter. Click None. Triple, tap the screen to get rid of the menu zoom. If you have enabled greyscale in zoom you can disable it in zoom.

  • Problem with the sharing printers between WIndows & and Windows Xp

I have a laser printer HP 1150 connected by USB on my computer Windows 7 (Home Premium 64-bit). I want to share with another pc with Xp Pro (SP3), but can not find a suitable printer driver. I read the thread on the sharing of printers and led most of the steps.

My problem is that, although I can see the printer of the xp machine, it requires a driver. I had already installed the drivers from HP and the printer works fine by direct USB connection on the XP machine, but it appears that I need a driver installed on the W7 machine as well - and I can't seem to find one that works.

The driver software has been reinstalled several times but with the same result. The MFP scans on a local USB without problems and print perfectly. Verified that the WIA service and its dependencies are running, they are, tried to start and stop services, but that had no effect, seem to be out of options

    Any ideas?

    Everyone,

I worked directly with andyw046 here to collect pilot newspapers and get to the root cause of the problem.   It turns out that the driver relies on a temporary folder had been deleted on its systems, causing the driver to fail.   We are uncertain as to how the record has been deleted (it could have been a PC optimization tool any), but none-the-less, it was gone.

The file in question that was missing was this:

    %WINDIR%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Temp

    (eg. C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Temp\)

Specifically, it lacked the part highlighted the path.   We have recreated this file and the driver magically started working again!

If other people see problems on Windows 7 with newer devices Laserjet does not scan, this could be the source of the problem.

I will work with maintaining at HP engineering teams to get a check for this in place at HP and Scan Dr. printing and will also work to get the fixed driver check that the path actually exists.

  • Why is there not a selector of color (like any other similar tool!)

    It's so, it's embarrassing.

I am filling the cells in the table selected with a specific color, but under the strokes and fills:

    (a) the choice of colors is limited to 12 colors more none.

    (b) the color that I need is in an image (above), but the only way I can determine its color is using another tool, like Snagit (which has a color picker to determine the values of R G B).

Am I missing something? Is there another way to find the color values and assign that color of a cell?

    Thank you

There are probably several ways to address the issue. The "12 colors no more" to which you refer are shades available in the document. Before you can apply the color of a cell through the outline dialog box and funds, you must do a shade of the color. Here's one way:

Choose the rectangle (or any shape) tools and drag a shape... on the editing table if you wish. Leave it on.

Select the eyedropper tool and click the color in the image, you must perform a sample (NOTE: If the image is linked rather than embedded, sample that results will be a proxy image RGB color... it sounds like it will be acceptable for your lens). The shape you drew guess color, contour, that is active or its background... is not serious.

Now choose Add Unnamed colors in the swatches Panel menu. This operation generates a new shade of the color you sampled, which will now be available in the dialog box contours and funds.

May seem like a lot, but it only takes a few seconds.

  • icon comments with other issues of icon and download arrow on this subject, on the Security tab.

I'm on a laptop computer with dsl internet IE with another computer using the gateway. My os is Vista Home premium and service pack 2. I checked my settings on a regular basis and updated and scanned my system regularly. I periodically check the security settings for all the problems, and they are usually very good. However, I had taken a couple of times in administrator mode, I don't have the rights of security to certain files or programs. When I checked the security labels, I got a message that I could see the settings, but could not make changes. This should not be, as far as I know, because the administrator must have all the rights. I've never seen any icon like this on the Security tab, (or anywhere else) in the past. I went into the security on a folder tab and proceeded to bring up the list of groups and their safety features and found the icon comments soiled by a arrow pointing down. Guests (multiple) icon didn't. I can't bring up anything on this subject. I'm the only person on this computer, and I use the only admin account to do administrative tasks.  I have a personal account, which is a standard user account and both accounts are protected by Word. The guest account has never been activated. The curious to keep in mind another note is that other groups are listed under the name of my pc, but system and comments are not included, for a long time with others who are in the usual list of people or groups. I'm sure that the system must be included, because that always has all the rights. I don't have not find a way to change the icon, or find info for the customer. I searched your site and forums, as well as several other pc and tech support forums and can't find anything close to this issue, save the information on the Chameleon that MSN uses in their toolbar that makes icons from almost anything. Who is listed in my registry under MSN. It seems trivial, but I think it is maybe not so innocent, if it's way in. There are icons from two people on my printer files even if I checked them as not shared. I had checked to share, as well as the share folder normal, to see if anyone is on the network of the group to my computer profile. There was no evidence, however, I thought it would show the other computer on the local network, since the group is the same name. These icons came from. Everyone was listed as entitled to print and edit or delete parameters or printers and print on stations there. I couldn't do that. At most I would not have understood change or delete anything. In the group list, everyone was marked not with my pc name. Local service, I thought I was usually part of the active list is not marked either. System is not marked either. Here is a list of what it says:

Administrator, administrators, ASPNET user to the debugger, distributed COM users, readers of the event log, the (acc't of the admin), comments, invited, IIS_IUSRS, IIS_WPG, Performance Log users, users of performance, (me), monitor users.

I'm a little puzzled. Y at - it a simple explanation that I may have missed?

In Vista, administrators have all the access rights as they did in XP.  NUMBER of cases do not have access.  There are records of point junction where everybody is seen to deny access.  This is intentional to decrease the chance that someone will change, move or delete something, they should not (even administrators).  Some of them can be modified in order to access and others require special modifications of access - which shouldn't be done without a VERY good reason (as told to do so by Microsoft Support).  What you missed is that the permissions have changed in Vista from XP.

Here is some information on permisions and property in Vista that can help:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

A lot of general system groups are included by inheritance rather than be listed in each file and folder - that's why they are not always there - but they are.  If you select Advanced, you'll see permissions inherited from other folders.

I have no idea on the arrow on the guest account - I don't know what that means.  It may have something to do with safety or you installed AV programs (I know that Norton did something similar with the files to show if they have been backed up).  Personally I don't use the guest accounts and recommend against them because they are too easy to use to hack the sytem (and other reasons).  I would keep the disabled guest account and delete the duplicates but one off a (in the start menu / control panel / user accounts / manage other users).

I don't know why you can't see other computers on your local network - that sounds like a network or installation problem connection coming to redo the connection from scratch will fix (and then you can remove the one that isn't working right).  I don't know why your printer changed - rights but you can easily set them back to how they must be with the Security tab in the properties of the printer (and other settings in the start menu / control panel / printers).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    1. who is the operating system installed on the computer?

    2. you remember where exactly did you change the color scheme of Windows?

If you have made changes recently, the best option and the best would be to perform a system restore.

    Method 1:

If you are using Windows Vista or 7, you can see these article to perform the system restore.

Restore the system to an earlier point before installing this application.
