Comcast and xfinity

I'm trying to connect my TV to start provider to watch something on my apple (newish) TV.  Why I find each provider on the drop-down list EXCEPT Xfinity/Comcast?  My big cable operator is not enough?

Looks like your cable provider is not large enough in terms of not generous enough. He may not want to allow you to access the programming on the ATV. After all, he will rent you a box to do this. Cable operators that allow mobile access, but not the ATV access are relatively frequent.

El Capitan on MacBookAir running. For the last 4-5 days, I could receive my Comcast email on my email software but can't send on ANY device (iPhone 6, iPad and iMac as well). Spent hours with Apple support and four sessions with Comcast who finally told me then that is a problem of interface between Apple Mail and Comcast. I deleted my account from Comcast and returned it, changed my password, checked my settings, all to nothing does not. Anyone else having this problem? or better yet - a solution?

  • I had to change my password for Comcast and now I can't send e-mails from my iPhone / iPad. I get e-mails

I'm a subscriber to Comcast and, of course, my account got compromised just like thousands of others, so I had to change my password.
Now, although I'm still getting my emails in Thunderbird on my iOS devices I can't send them. I looked at the settings, but does not know what went wrong. Thunderbird works fine on my windows computer.

Hmm, normally Thunderbird only works on 'Office' such as Mac OS X, Windows and Linux operating systems. Something special do you run Thunderbird on your iOS devices?

  • 9.3.2 and xfinity tv remote iOS app

My Xfinity TV Remote App had several channels deleted after that I installed on my iPhone iOS 9.3.2 6 +. Comcast told me they had reset my account and I should delete the app and download a new one. But I can not download a new application, it starts downloading, but he returned to the cloud with the arrow icon to the bottom.

Do a forced reboot - after all open applications using the app Chooser - invoked by fast double pressing the home button and drag upwards on each app until it disappears from the screen.

Meet the sleep/wake and home buttons down until you see the logo  - then release and allow normal start upward

  • Using the e-mail from comcast and grabbing the first letter of an address name that it will display the addresses starting with that letter, now it doesn't. If I use IE9 it works correctly, or if I change preferences to Connect Lite, it will work with Fir

Think it may have been happened after Firefox 7.0.1 update

I guess you'll have to stick with Connect Lite until Comcast fixes the mess, they did the upgrade of Xfinity Connect. And this problem is not only to Firefox 7.0.1 from what I've seen this problem myself, I have to use Connect Lite with Firefox 3.6.23, too.

Two years ago when they started using Zimbra, it took like 6 months to fix it if it worked in Firefox as well as he did with IE. Not surprising if MS is a main shareholder of Comcast.

  • I have windows live mail with two email accounts comcast and hotmail all of a sudden all of my comcast Inbox mail appears in the hotmail account,.

whenever I check that my windows live mail all the emails sent to my accont comcast also are appearing in my Inbox hotmail also.

I don't know why. the comcast account is my account by default, all emails sent to hotmail stay in hot mail, but all emasils sent to comcast account also appear

in hotmail too. How can I stop this. I thried to delete windows live mail a reinstall it thought that it worked but still past. does anyone have the answers.

I'm ready to dump hotmail and windows live.

The most plausible explanation for this is that you asked to Hotmail to collect messages from your Comcast mailbox. Connect to your Inbox Hotmail, pointing to the Inbox in the left column, click the gear and select get one email from another account. If your Comcast account is mentioned on the page that opens, delete it.

Windows Live Mail has its own forums dedicated to Windows Live Solution Center. Please address any other question you may have on one of the forums on the right side of this page.

  • The Time Capsule and Comcast router compatibility

I plan on buying Time Capsule.

My ISP is Comcast and borrow the gateway (modem and router together)

Comcast has not recommended the use of Time Capsule as wifi router

I would like to know if there are problems (slow wifi, etc.) using Time Capsule with Comcast.

It is very well - at least, it will work without problems.

You will probably find yourself with two wireless networks - the Comcast box and time Capsule (from memory, you can not deactivate their wireless gateway), but since you get to choose which network to join you shouldn't have a problem.

  • I live in Mokena, Ill with comcast homepage, one day I Mokena the nxt 2 weeks that I have Philadelphia. I change and for some browsers it is fresh then it's Philadelphia

Only on firefox! I use the most. My homepage of Comcast of Mokena, Illinois (Chicago) appears as Philadelphia for the last 2 months. I have change the postcode and Mokena perhaps 1/2 day to a day. Then I'm back to Philadelphia. About 3 weeks, I had my normal Mokena page for about a week. Now I'm back to relive in Philly. Chicago is not Philly. Have you ever heard of this problem? It is only on Firefox. I spoke to a representative from Comcast, and he has never heard of him. Help. Thanks Jim

I didn't know that occur with Comcast for a few years now, but I used to have it occur fairly regularly in the course of close to 2 years. Model address dynamic IP from Comcast connected me thru Philly or Alexandria, WILL sometimes instead of the connection point of Elmhurst, Illinois local which was normally used. It happened when Comcast was doing maintenance and updates to level on the old systems AT & T had acquired it a few years previously in the Chicago area. There were nights where my IP address was changed as often as every 10 minutes - I would go to another website and I would like to see the info about the stuff in Philly or Alexandria, WILL and the other would be local stuff in the northern suburb of Chicago where I'm located. I installed a small utility program that would pop-up a small windows with the new IP address when it has been modified, to keep track of how many times it happened. I don't remember the name of this program, but he kept a daily diary of text of each IP address change.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the "lease" for an IP address will expire every 72 hours (3 days) and must be renewed automatically from Comcast DHCP servers. If you use Comcast internet service more than 3 days, it is possible that your old IP address was reallocated to another person and you would get a different one. But it should be the Bank of available local IP addresses, not the one of to halfway across the country.

When this happens, load this page and see where the site thinks you are located.
    http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Keep track of the time and the IP address that appears - perhaps the information will help you to a Comcast rep figure why is happening.

  • Any instance of time displayed through Firefox is 5 hours off the coast (+) (IE Comcast call time logs, each page to print, etc.). IE and other browsers display correctly as they are all the time on my computer settings. Help, please.

Any instance of time displayed when you use Firefox see the days off by + 5 hours. I'm in Philly so use felt all other settings are correct on the computer. For example the call time display to Comcast and every foot of page log displays time + 5 hours. I have not found anything useful in Web search. I always check after each update for Firefox but the problem persists.

  • How to cancel a website than firefox said was unreliable and I told him to accept the site?

I was trying to sign up for an account online to a local medical lab. It came as untrustworthy and asked if I wanted to go come and go on the website and replace the protection. I thought it was strange for a medical laboratory. After accepting the replacement I realized that I was not entered the address of the Web site correctly. I want the wrong site would not be allowed on my computer. Please help me to not approved.

So when you open your home page, you must have a toolbar main above the page that displays the address of the page on the internet, is something something or xfinity comcast and bunch of icons. On the right end of the toolbar, locate the menu button, which has 3 horizontal bars. Alternatively, you can press the ALT key to activate the classic menu bar (File, Edit, View, etc.).

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the Advanced section in the Options page, click on mini - Certificates tab, click the view certificates"" button. That should open the Certificate Manager dialog box. Click on mini - servers tab and you should be able to find specific exceptions to the server that you have added.

  • I am unable to connect to my Comcast email account. When I do it, it keeps coming back to the login page. As it is in a loop of some sort.

Comcast has made changes to their e-mail for several months. The e-mail function has been affected, but the problems are different for different browsers. I've had problems since August. In any case, this morning, I was unable to even log on messaging via Firefox, but I could access it via IE.

If you are interested, here is what I posted on their forum of 'internet' this morning:

    http://forums.Comcast.com/T5/E-mail-and-Xfinity-connect-help/E-mail-and-Firefox/TD-p/1963071

As of 17:51 12/21/2013 than Comcast support thread seems to be resolved by turning off the recent history in Firefox.

    I'm this as resolved marker.

  • How can I block email from a person who is a parasite. Creating mail filter I've tried and that has not worked. Help!

I followed the instructions to create filters e-mail for a person who sends an email that I do not wish to receive. The filter does not work because I always get emails from the person. Can someone provide step by step on how to block e-mail that is not desired.

Firefox is a browser and does not mail filters. You can use Firefox to access webmail and e-mail functions are controlled by the site that you contact your web mail.
