Communication problems that keeps returning (series PS5520)

About three months ago, I installed this nice printer on my home computer.

The configuration of the wireless connection has failed in a first step, but after installation of the software I tried again and it worked anyway.

But after a few days I noticed that it was not possible over using the scan through the app "HP Scan" (hpscan.exe) function.

After you open the shortcut, a window displaying a communication error prevented by using this function.

However, it was possible to analysis via the display of the printer control. So, I made no failure mechanical or something.

At that time, a print job was still possible.

I used the problem solver in the software, and after some corrections and restarts the scanner has started working again.

But a few days later, some new problem;   Impossible to scan AND impossible to print.

This could not be corrected by software, so I used "HP print and Scan Doctor".
Many icons red etc and there was a lot of things wrong/broken/damaged. But the App has solved the problem eventually.

The next day or two problems AGAIN! This time the scan doctor he could not set more. I spent hours trying to solve some things manually, but no luck. So I decided to uninstall all of the software and driver suite and start the installation. After doing this, the connection can be established in a case and everything worked and kept the job!

UNTIL the day came, I decided to install a new copy of my operating system, because I installed an SSD to replace my old HDD.

I expect the installation of my printer was a cake of this time of peace, because the rest of my windows installation worked smoothly and fast. FAKE!

I used the last printer driver (full package) and connected via WiFi (yet) material during installation.

Everything has of worked according to the Wireless Setup page in the display menu and then printed. The IP address has been correct, subnet mask, MAC address, etc. of the good connection strength.

But the "two-way communication" was the problem this time.

The doctor of printing and scanning could not solve this problem, sometimes impossible to find all of the printer!

So, I read the help / faq pages of HP and has taken steps to change the WiFi connection with the router.
I used a fixed ip address, this time outside the DHCP range. And the address was different (xxx.xxx.xxx.31 instead of xxx.xxx.xxx.21). I've updated this casablenca via the menu of the printer and in the center (?) master control App (HP Photosmart 5520 series.exe).

Also, I added the ports TCP 9220 and 9500 to the "port forward" table of my router (NAT).

There was still no stable communication, so I updated the firmware via the screen of the printer (it takes a while). And restarted the printer.

After that, everything worked well and quickly! Until...

The next day... Now all of a sudden nothing worked more. What? > Troubleshooting (again).

This time, no communication at all. The problem was even worse of all time before the 'big fix '...

Broken TWAIN, WIA scan broken, damaged drivers driver... It was all a big mess, once more.
After having tried and tried again and again, the software asked suddenly send some data to HP for analysis.

I did, and after some time, the results came back;   the report has been received successfully, and there was a difficulty (!).

Because it was already late in the evening, I decided to the recommended installation program (DeviceSetupLauncher.exe) and him give it a go.

Totally against my expectations, the reworked printer (wow!). This time, then 100% resolved? ...

Not quite, but...
After another problem of communication the other day I ran the installer of the device again.
This time, that the printer is not found it is IP (bad news), but in any case, I continued the 'installation '.

And all of a sudden the reworked scanner (yesterday).

Today, the printer works even from my laptop on the network share.

??

So now I'm confused, or has the problem been resolved?

Why is this so unstable printer in its communication (today it doesn't, tomorrow, day after tomorrow half the time etc.).

Every time I checked the wireless signal is good/strong on the printer.

I am very satisfied with the print quality of speed and scan, etc, but... The WiFi connection is so terribly wrong with this product. I am very disappointed at the moment and still not sure if I can use my printer without problem.

What could be the problem with this product?

I found a folder in 'My music' which had a subfolder named \SavedGames\Microsoft Games\Freecell.  (I have no idea how it got there and I think you might find the folder anywhere, not necessarily in my music.) I deleted this file. I also removed the icon in my Dock of Windows FreeCell. I did a search on the word "freecell" again to make sure that nothing was left. Research found without any reference to 'freecell.

    I then back to 'control panel '; chose "features of the program." seclected "turn Windows features on and Off"; and well, put a check mark next to FreeCell under games.

    It worked for me.

    If port by default windows settings exactly match the settings you need for communication, you can get lucky and it will work.  If only one parameter is different, it won't work.

    It is always better to define the parameters in your code.

    I recently installed an Epson L555 instead of my Epson L355, which worked well with my software windows 7 and my BACK program based. However, whenever the L555 turned the printer just keeps ejecting the hopper pages until it is empty. On the menu screen, it says "printing", but there is nothing in the print queue and I didn't send anything to be printed. Sometimes it reads "Fax set auto answer. By pressing the Stop/Reset button stops the ejection pages and "Cancel" is displayed on the screen. This continues for about 2-3 minutes, then the pages start ejected again. Problem does not occur when it is not connected USB so that it looks like some sort of communication problem. The L355 worked perfectly.

    A low CMOS battery can sometimes various issues, including slow, locking unexplained performance issues as well as others.

    It is quite rare, but the battery is relatively easy to replace, check the manual of your computer/motherboard for replacement details.

    Generally, the battery is a watch battery "CR2032", about the size of a nickel.

    I have yet to see a laptop whose battery is easy to replace...

    Here is a simple test to check if the battery needs to be replaced:

    1. Start the computer in Mode without failure.
    2. Set the date and time.
    3. Stop the machine.
    4. Remove the battery from bit and disconnect the machine from the sector.
    5. Wait at least 24 hours.
    6. Start the computer in Mode without failure.
    7. Check the date and time.
    If the time is incorrect then you are probably dealing with a flat battery from motherboard. You will probably get the machine to replace unless you have good skills in disassembly of electronic components.

    On Mac, this most commonly seems to be caused by Spigot or pipe modules, or something else that snuck in without being detected with other software that you downloaded.

    Please try to disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete). Especially if you find something called SearchMe.

    Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Is that what helps you regain control?

    When you change the search engine using the icon beside the search bar, which should "stick". Don't you think that it changes randomly, or the next time you exit and restart Firefox or notice any other model?

    For problems that occur when quit them and restart Firefox, see:

    • Consider if use you any utility or security software (e.g. Advanced SystemCare) who have a function like "Surf Protection", "Protection of the Home Page", etc.. These features can undo changes to your browser settings to protect you against unwanted changes - and yourself. Not always useful...
