Communication with the external monitor problem

When watching a video or tv content on the internet via our hdmi tv, after some time, the screen goes black, a few moments later, the sound turns off, then the laptop restarts. This does not happen if I look at the content that has been downloaded to the laptop then played through the TV. The error message that appears in Event Viewer is the following:-

Can someone tell me what is the cause and how can I solve this problem? Thank you.

Thought I would let you know that, by chance, I came to find the fix on the Microsoft Community website.

The issue might be related to display drivers and try again the steps to uninstall graphics cardin Device Manager, uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs, and then download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Step 1:

Uninstall the device from Device Manager

  • Open the Device Manager
  • Expand the section of the graphics card .
  • Find the Display card Driver.
  • Graphics Driver right click and choose Uninstall.
  • Select the check box delete the driver for this device.
  • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

Step 2:

Uninstall the drivers of device from the list of programs in the control panel

  • Click Start, select Control Panel
  • Now, click on programs and select programs and features.
  • Find the Display card Driver.
  • Display driver card click right and select Uninstall.
  • Restart the computer after the uninstall is complete.

I tried and it seems to have worked so far. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for your advice. Maybe this will add to the knowledge base for future issues.

  • Tecra A10 - 1LL - connection with the external monitor

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop Tecra A10.

When I connect to an external monitor to the laptop I have to manually switch the screens because external shows nothing. When I disconnect the monitor I have to pass the screens manually with FN + F5 because the internal display shows nothing.

My old laptop (Tecra A9 (PTS52E-0E702NGR)) is the poster automatically whenever I connected or disconnected an external monitor.

Anyone has an idea why the A10 light automatically as the old notebook? Maybe it's the only spot in the preferences of the display driver that I don't see right now. :-)

    Hi SilverWizard,

What happens if you try to switch on the external monitor using the options of display driver, or that this combination of buttons don t work?

As wrote Al - eX you must update tools from Toshiba to get the keys FN working again. Everything can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

    It's working now?

  • Problems with the external monitor W540 connection

Hi, maybe someone can help me. I'm trying to connect a W540 (no external dock) to an external monitor Dell.

I tried with two monitors, but none work.

Connected via VGA port on the side of the W540

    (1) connected monitor and clogged up the resolution of the screen on laptop (lines icons tiny, black on each side of the screen). External monitor works fine. When unplugged, it went back to the previous screen resolution.

    (2) laptop registered resolution and icon size of the screen as a profile.

    (3) external monitor connected right click options graphics Intel, insured was custom display, main display plus external monitor, then had to go in a re - click on the name of the saved profile.

    (4) this worked ok until the next day, when turned on laptop and a blue screen. Managed to get this back hard by restarting and completed the steps in N3

    (5) cannot get the Nvidia Control Panel to display anything else than the 3D options, even if it make the default value (instead of the Intel graphic card)

Can anyone offer some so that I can connect an external monitor without having to go through all this hassle every time? Why this affects the laptop so bad (and also, it runs very slowly after that)

Running Windows 8 (but with the interface of Windows 7)

    Thank you very much

Thank you. A quick update, I contacted Lenovo, and they sent the updated bios drivers. I also uninstalled some software Canon MP Navigator and Lenovo EMC Discovery (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht081844?tabName=Solutions). One or all of them seem to have solved the problem, including the slow start.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-black screen only works with the external monitor

I discovered that my screen was not turn on yesterday when I tried to turn on my laptop. Fortunately I was able to plug it into an external monitor with a VGA cable and I have a monitor in my office, but I can not really be restricted to my living room or office to use my laptop.  Y at - it easy fixes to this, or is my only option to take it to someone with experience that replace the monitor for me?

    Hello

Given the external screen display there are so few opportunities...

-Sun display-project is a flashlight on the screen and check if you can see the bottom - if background is visible while it is the backlight in the LCD screen that needs to be replaced.

    - Display dark: if it is completely black and nothing is visible when you Flash light on the screen, then it is due to the LCD screen itself might be a broken screen (a cable that connects to the motherboard screen) or could be inverter LCD.

If the laptop is still under warranty so I recommend you call HP tech support and they will be able to get it fixed for you.

  • Inspiron One 2320 - All In One No Image displayed. Works with the external monitor.

System works properly when connected to an external monitor. I use it for this type. Built in touch screen does not display any image, but turns on and stays on. That's all just white. I took it to a guy from the local computer that has not been able to diagnose. He changed the LCD cable I think, he said. I have updated the video drivers.

    Is the monitor shot?

If I need to replace the screen could I just buy a nontouch screen that is much more affordable and replace it with that?

In fact, I give you a link to the manual in my last post, but had broken in this post then try this link.

Instructions to remove the touch control panel, screen Assembly and then the display panel begins on page 105.

  • Communication with the listener OEM problem

    Hi all
for some reason, my OEM is corrupted and when activated, it messes with the listener. I have found the problem lies in OEM, rather than in the listener since I can establish connection between SQLdeveloper and the server through the listener without any problem.

I have the named instance INARA, host named FIREFLY. SNOWDROP.COM and the listener named ORACLE_LISTENER.

I closed the SQLdeveloper application and its listener and OEM first to identify the problem. After that I started OEM, emoms.log dumped Log Management Service:

Looked like OEM had some errors and warnings after it opened, but I don't know what they meant.

After OEM is started successfully, at least according to the commandment of emtcl, I started ORACLE_LISTENER listener. At this point, I did the loopback test using NET manager on the server, and it took forever so I aborted it. The database at this point was still open and running without problem however. Taken TNSPING 157080 msc to return an OK value, meanwhile lsnrctl status ORACLE_STATUS was at a standstill.

Then look at emagent.trc after that the listener was launched:

At this point, part of the NET services caused by OEM, corruption has been altered, but I didn't know what caused it. NET with his listener services can operate normally after I stopped OEM and forced killed the listener and restarted normally.

No idea how to solve the problem of this point?
    Kind regards
    Val

    Valerie,

    The problems are manifold.

1 in listener.ora are two defined listeners, as well running on port 1521. This is not going to work. As the default listener name is 'Listener', probably the named listener "listener" is launched and the listener called 'oracle_listener' has never worked. Check this box by issuing

    status lsnrctl listener

    lsnrctl status oracle_listener.

    Delete oracle_listener.

    2 the tnsnames.ora is a mess.
Apart from the first definition, INARA, everything else can be removed, as they are incorrect, in any case. Localhost means 127.0.0.1, you do not have a listening port on localhost, so all the definitions referring to localhost are redundant.

Should a .properties file in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman /... with the definition of the listener. Currently I can't find it, but then I use 11 GR 2.

  • Satellite L40 - BIOS - the external monitor connection preferences

    Hello!
I have some problems with the external monitor (CRT) connection for laptop L40 - 17O (PSL4CE).
Matrix on it is broken. There is no windows installed.
I connect external monitor, but I don't see anything. I heard that it is necessary to change something in the BIOS, but it's hard to do that without image =)
Would be great if someone who has the same note would say what button to press to enter the BIOS and change the options in this way. Or perhaps someone could take a snapshot of the bios and its options.
I'm looking forward to see answers)

Normally it should be an option in the BIOS where you can choose, if it isn't the internal LCD screen, or both or is automatically activated after connecting a display to the machine.

Under Windows, the combination FN + F5 does exactly what you need: it goes from the screen.

Could you please check your BIOS and attention to the options in the form? I guess that basic finding. :)

    Welcome them

  • Error - there is a problem with the external Setup program and it must be closed when you try to install windows updates

Original title: How can I fix external MSI?

When I try to download the updates, the error message says there is a problem with the external Setup program and it must be closed.  Updates will not be installed.  Anyone know how to solve this problem...?

    Hi John,.

    ·         You are able to install other applications on the computer?

It seems to be a problem with the corruption of the .net framework. I suggest trying to repair the .net framework on the computer and see if you can install the updates.

    Hello

    1. What is the brand of your printer?
    2. when the question is is produced?
    3. you remember to make changes to your computer before the problem?
    4. when exactly you get this error?

I would temporarily disable all security software and check if the problem persists.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • HP Pavilion dv4: can I factory reset with an external monitor attached to my laptop?

I got a laptop HP Pavilion dv4 entertainment PC. It has a cracked screen and I use an external monitor attached. Can I do a factory reset with the attached external monitor? The monitor is an HP w1815 LCD, case ini that matters.

Thanks for any help on this.

I would like to add that I can see on both screens only on screen cracked that I can't see the bottom of it due to cracking. As recovery options are visible on the external display, it would be prudent to start the recovery process? I made a few choice, but I am now at the point choose to 'pull the trigger' and click next to start it or hit Cancel.

    Thank you.

  • HP Envy X 2 (15-C001dx): HP Envy X 2 (15-C001dx): question seeks to use the external monitor

I have a brand new HP Envy X 2 (15-C001dx) with Windows 8.1. So far, it works fine by itself. I tried to connect an external monitor to the laptop using an HDMI cable from the laptop to a LG L246WPQ screen. The problem is that 10-15% of the left side of the content portable screen does not appear on the external monitor. Missing from the external display is the word "Start" in the upper left with roughly 2 columns to tiles. This occurs in the two "dual display" or "show only the screen 2" modes.  It's using a resolution of 1680 x 1050 times the cell phone and the LG appearing in support. Using the touch screen on the laptop I can scroll tiles to the right and see the missing columns at the far left. The information displayed on the external monitor begins as far left this screen will be displayed. In other words, there is no black and white on the left box. Except for the missing information on the left side, from the rest of the external display content seems fine. I have updated video driver of the laptop at the latest on HP.COM.  No change in behavior. I tried all the options I could find on the LG OnScreenDisplay, but nothing does the display not better. I've seen complaints on some forums that some "DPI" support added in Windows 8.1is causing many grief monitor for some people. Who would have something to do with it?

This sounds like a video driver problem?  Something incorrect or incompatible with this LG monitor? Suggestions on other things to try?

    Thank you

    @outback ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums,

The first thing I would try this question takes the hdmi cable and plug it on another monitor or a TV.

If the same problem exists then LG issue.  If the same problem occurs on other screens or TV then looking at a resolution problem on the output of the system.

Even if you can be able to higher resolutions sometimes native resolution will eventually force you to lower it.

I have two screens at home who can manage resolution 1680 x 1050, however the native resolution is less than that.  and according to what I connect to the screen will depend on what I can get away with.

Here are some links that you can see and which can be useful.

Troubleshooting screen HDMI and sound problems

I checked on the model of monitor you are using, and it seems to have this problem on many different systems.

    LG L246WPQ

L246WP 24 '' LG display moved to the left driver Nvidia 8.15.11 - EVGA GTX 260

Here is a list of the problems of google I found.

The screen shifted to the left.

I would like to know how this happens.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • Tecra M3: black screen on startup, the vertical lines on the external monitor

    Hi all

I searched a lot on the Internet for a solution to this specific problem, I have, but did not find a thread
with exactly the same problem. I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 with Windows XP SP 3. Two weeks ago, I encountered problems with the commissioning. After a couple of times to restart it would work. Then it became worse... When I try to run I see no splash... the screen remains black. If I press the power button, I hear the fan and CD player but no screen. It is totally black. I know its working because I can go (blindly) in the installation program. Press end, and then press Y and enter. The computer will restart but still no screen.

I plugged it to an external monitor. Pressing Fn and F5 allows switching. The external monitor shows different
vertical lines in multiple colors. They change if I go to settings or you try to start windows.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems?

I have fear of solution can be given by the service only.
In my view, this question must be tested properly.

I can't say for sure, but to me that sounds like a technical question. Without testing you will know for sure what is the problem.
Here on the forum we can only speculate why this happen.

As you can see on notebooka? s LCD problem. On external it doesnâ? t properly work as well. It may be a faulty graphics card.
Try to contact the nearest authorized Toshiba service and speak with the technician.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1IZ - external monitor problem

    Hello
I recently bought an IPS monitor for photo editing. I configured the monitor in several ways, such as two monitors or monitors extended, but the image on the external monitor has a few little flicker and the image is not very pleasing to the eyes, a feeling like little refreshment on old monitor, very disturbing for the eyes.
I plugged the monitor into another laptop and the image is much better.

What could be the problem? I have Windows 7 32 bit and Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2600 adapter with the latest drivers.

We do not know what monitor you have exactly, but what is the native screen resolution and what resolution is set to the external monitor when you use it with your laptop?

  • Portege R500 - no image on the external monitor

    Hello everyone

There is no image on the external monitor on my Portege R500 with Win XP SP3.
The screen seems to receive the signal, but the screen remains black.

Anyone know a solution for this problem?
    Sorry for my bad English.

    Thank you.

    Hello

How have you tried to exit from display on an external monitor?
Usually, you use the FN + F5 key combination.
This allows you to switch between the two screens; laptop + external display.

I had a problem to view a video on the external monitor because the video is already running. You must switch to the external display until you start the movie, etc.

  • Re: Tecra A9 keeps DΘmarrer on the external monitor

I have a Tecra A9 running on XP, it has mobile Intel 965 Express integrated graphics. I use it with an external monitor, but whenever he starts it keeps or default in the screen even if I continue to put the laptop by default.

Has anyone seen this problem and how to fix it so that the laptop is still the default monitor?

    Hello

You have connected the monitor directly on the laptop or with a port replicator?

On my Toshiba laptop, I can t view this problem so in your case, I would try to update the display driver and BIOS. The two you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before update you the display driver, you must remove the old version and then restart the laptop.
On the update of the BIOS, I can give you some tips: close all running applications as your antivirus and firewall. In addition, you must be logged in as an administrator and extract all the files from zip archive before you start the update.

    Good bye
