Basically, whenever my computer is turned on and at different times of the day, my comodo internet security keeps report this file as a Trojan horse, press on to clean but always reports the same custom let me remove it so is it true or just a false positive to be added to my files of trust?
Sometimes these sites to work, but they seem to be OK now (I just tried both).
If your system seems to be starting and running OK and Comodo is complaining, it seems that your Comodo can be afflicted and considered a 'false positive '. Make sure you have the latest version and definitions for your Comodo.
If Comodo thinks the file is afflicted, and if you leave Comodo to delete the file, your system unbootable, and you will see a message like this on the next reboot:
STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}
The Windows logon process ended unexpectedly with the status of 0xc0000034 (0 x 0000000 0000000 x 0).
The system has been shut down.It is usually not too difficult difficulty, but I would take measures to ensure that this never happens in the first place!

I use a site that now has the following statement:
Safety notice: as part of our ongoing efforts to improve security, this agency will be no longer support the use of the internet security TLS 1.0 protocol effective August 1. In addition, we will also stop the support for the Security Protocol Internet TLS 1.1 on 1 September. This means you must update your browser to use this site. For any questions about the update, please consult your browser provider.
How do I change this?
Unless your Firefox settings have been changed, Firefox is ready for sites that use TLS 1.2, the latest version of the SSL protocol.
For example, if you click on the Green padlock on this site, so more information, the bottom of the Panel security in the Page Info dialog box should show that the page was encrypted using TLS 1.2. I have attached a screenshot showing where to find this information.
Can you confirm that this works?

If you indeed have the update of Norton toolbar 22.5.0.124 for Firefox 39.0 then make sure that the extension is enabled in the addons Manager.

Given that I uninstalled avast! antivirus and installed Bitdefender Internet Security 2015 Thunderbird application if you want to accept an invalid certificate when you try to receive new messages.
Please take a look at the two attachments (it seems to be a problem with the download of jpg files).
Obviously Bitdefender manipulates the certificate (no doubt to be able to scan the e-mails via an SSL connection). But I'm not sure.
Would you recommend to confirm an exception for this certificate (permanently)?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings
Marco
Thank you, christ1.
I discovered that after disabling SSL scanning in Bitdefender, this problem no longer exists.
Maybe this can be seen as a confirmation that the certificate belongs in reality to Bitdefender. Because it is my concern, that is the validation of this certificate to make sure that Bitdefender is the transmitter.

Norton Internet Security can't scan SSL email use. How can I ensure that I don't get a malware or a virus by opening an email in Thunderbird? I read that you don't have to click on a link to get malware, but that some e-mail may trigger the malware just by opening and reading. Any suggestions to prevent the outbreak of malware emails? AOL Desktop software has its own built-in email scanner, but I am trying to get away with their software and to rely only on tuberculosis.
Thank you
There are many aspects to this question.
First of all, by using SSL or TLS to send and receive emails is important because it prevents others from sniffing your login email. Especially if you use a device over wi - fi or on untrusted networks, it is essential, because if others get your email IDs, bad things can happen.
Of course, by using SSL or TLS with your mail server also protects the content of your email being captured by others, so it's good also.
Secondly, you are right that there may be threats to security in E-mail other than the attachments, even if attachments are usually the most dangerous. Your antivirus must protect you against bad attachments as to open them, they must be written to disk in a temporary folder, and your AV software jumps into action whenever a new file is added to the disk. You can also hedge your bets by using a two step approach: first save the attachment to disk and only after she survives the real-time AV scanning and then run it in the appropriate application.
Sometimes the content in the body of the message can trigger a vulnerability in your software e-mail or a plugin. As these known vulnerabilities, Mozilla is updating its software, but there always seems to be new problems discovered and it will never be perfect security. I don't know how useful email Scanner is for this problem.

I have the latest version of Norton Internet Security on a windows 8.1. Firefox version 36.0 works very well. Version 36.0.1 is blocked by Norton. I have reset the firewall instructions of Norton, but that did not help. I started Firefox worm 36.0 but whenever I restart the computer, Firefox updates and I'm back to square one. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Anti-virus/Internet security for Mac software?
Thoughts about whether Anti Virus/Internet security software is necessary for Mac computers? How about a new college student?
If so any recommendations on which one to use?
Thank you
Mark
You do not have anti virus for Mac. Review carefully on known sites and you should have no trouble. Don't download questionable sites (Cnet, MacKeeper and similar). If you are unsure about a site, ask here in the forums.

Google and other Web sites does not work after installing Bitdefender Internet Security.
After that installation of the version of Bitdefender Internet Security offered to the 60-second-anti-virus plugin for Firefox of Bitdefender, a number of sites have stopped working. First of all, I cannot change my homepage, because the connection hangs, and Web site does not open. In addition, tries to connect to a number of Web sites (Google, Youtube, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, etc.) created this site:
"Secure connection failed".An error occurred when connecting to www.google.com. The server has rejected the transfer protocol because the customer to a lower version of TLS on the server supports. (Error code: ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."
In short, a lot of great websites do not work and are seriously harming my ability to work. Bing works as a site search engine that I can go to, but not as a home page. I desperately need help with this problem...
Hi pokator, can you try disabling ssl scanning in bitdefender options and see if that makes a difference?

How can I provide internet security for my 10.7.5 unsupported macbook?
How can I provide internet security for my 10.7.5 no support for operating system Macbook?
The best way is just to use your common sense and do not download third-party applications, don't use torrents. Except that you can install AdBlock for stop pop ups. If you happen to get malware, download and run MalwareBytes. Malwarebytes was developed by one of our colleagues here to ASC. He received rave reviews and is on the more proven anti-malware for Mac software.
EDIT: Do not use any type of security application Internet only these will create more problems than they solve.

I received an infected email this morning which resulted in Norton Internet Security quarantine inbox. All received emails are gone now from the Inbox (with the exception of two who apparently arrived just before the infected message).
(1) is it possible to recover the E-mails lost without re-infection of the Inbox?
(2) how can I avoid this happening again? Until today, the infected emails have simply removed by Norton Internet Security on arrival without all the previous messages being lost in the Inbox.
I would be very grateful for help.you force Nortons of UN-setting in the file quarantine.
Then, you create an exception for Norton analyzes the folders that contain your Thunderbird profile, so it is not repeated.Be aware that the infection is not as severe as the cure. Maybe you can find someone to Semantec to explain how an email in Thunderbird can infect anything unless you physically open an infected attachment that Norton should catch when it is written in the temp folder before opening.
I lost a lot of time talking to corporate cretins to Semantec and they charge just "this is another line of defense" when asked for more details. Why, because they can simply justify not e-mail Scanner in any other terms. Enjoy it servers little or not by the challenges of usability and convenience.
This "mail" was written on your drive hard until Semantec has managed to make a mess of things. It's a little late don't you think saying "you have an infection. Do they expect also for stuff in your browser to be written on the disc? You bet they do. Where is the preventive surveillance to data transmissions that prevents infection before it is written on your drive?

Often, though not always, when I open THUNDERBIRD I'm not able to delete or move messages. I need to close the program and reopen it. Similarly, when sending e-mails, sometimes things work easily and sometimes they cling to saving to the box SENT. Apparently they get sent but I can't keep a copy. If I close and reopen, then it works as it should.
I am running Windows 8.1, 24.3 Thunderbird and AVAST internet security.
Very well. Pulling the AV off the coast of the Inbox in Thunderbird (profile) seems to have pretty well taken care of issues. He hung up once... but after a few hours, then I am satisfied. Thanks again, Alice.
