Compaq 6530 b: no operating system found
My apologies for my knowledge of basic computer skills. Right... So my laptop girlfriends was virtually bankrupt, if someone had a look for her and replaced windows with ubuntu. She asked me to see if I could give windows on as she did not like the new operating system. So try to follow some instructions online that were probably too advanced for me I managed to remove the old operating system, but when I tried to install windows he had many other problems... My ISO Windows Me brings to the installation page, but when asked for the product key, it is said that the key is not valid. ISO I use is a windows ISO 10 from another computer, I have had a look on the internet for a windows vista ISO but can't seem to find a. What is the reason that my product key does not work? I cannot go into the start menu and when I try to boot from the CD I can enter here but boot CD won't let me do a reset. It's a laptop second hand, so it was not a boot with her CD.
Thanks in advance to that whether you answer Please HELP ME!
Hello;
Let me welcome you on the HP forums!
I read your post regarding your installation of Windows problem and wanted to help.
First - some background on the Win10 FREE offer. This only applies when the two things are true.
First of all, the machine should already have a copy installed and activated Windows and which must be Win7, Win8 or Win8.1. It's an upgrade of Win10 and you get activated by the machine REUSING the existing license. This is known by MC as digital right.
Second, if you are installing a new disk, you must have a valid product key for Win7, Win8 or Win8.1, and the Win10 must be the version 1511, release 10586 - downloaded or created after November 2015.
So basically, you can not intall Win10 and activate it using a Vista product key. period.
Also, the keys listed in Win10 are the generic Installation keys. And while they can be used to install Win10, they cannot be used to activate it. He insists the key Win7, Win8 or Win8.1.
You get the Win10 ISOs using the MS Media (MCT) tool: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool
The end result is to activate the Win10, you will need to purchase a license. Sorry... that's how it is.
Good luck

Equium A300D-13 X - no operating system found
Hello
My computer laptop girls has stopped working. I can't seem to repair/restore or anything. He always keesp to return to 'No operating system found' so what I need to know is what download anyone advise would be more appropriate for me to re install to laptop?
The laptop is a Toshiba Equium A300D-13 X. It was running with Vista that was on it when buying 3 years ago but now no OS found.
I hope you can help as tried all other options via F8, F12, F2 etc. don't keep a copy of the recovery disc either and only came with a recovery disk directly.
Hi helen22,
First of all, you should check if the HARD drive is always recognized correctly. That's why look in the BIOS (F2) Setup and make sure that it s listed there.
If the HARD drive is recognized that you need to reinstall Windows. So you need the disk recovery Toshiba you had to create it yourself and that's the reason why the laptop didn't come with a recovery disk because you will have to do it yourself.
In any case, now it s too late, but you can order a new disc here:

Hello
1. have you made changes on the computer recently?
Before using recovery discs that you can try the following methods.
Method 1.
In this scenario, you can always perform a repair boot which usually solves the startup problems automatically.

Please check if you are facing the same question when working in safe mode.
a. restart your computer.

e. when Windows starts, use check and Internet explore if the problem persists.
For additional information see the articles below.

Troubleshooting in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshooting-problems-while-in-safe-modeStage II.
If it works fine in safe mode try performing a clean boot in order to find the cause root.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.

Unable to start - no operating system found
original title: help! I NEED HELP! laptop no longer
I have a laptop vaio that won't start. I tried everything, like trying to access safe mode and if you. but nothing works, none of which relates to windows does not work. the system will just keep hanging. I also tried the system repair, but no OS is listed. My hard drive seems to be alive in the BIOS, but at the start of the repair is missing.after I tried to fix the trunk using the ' bootrec.exe / fixboot "in cmd. He told me that the operation completed successfully. When I restarted my laptop, there was a message saying "no operating system found". then I tried to fix this using a vista recovery disk. When I entered, was not bone (the same problem). I hit then (with nothing selected) and choose for "Startup Repair." A problem has been found and a message says "attempted repairs.
It was 'attempt repairs' for more than 2 days! and when I try to cancel the operation, another message saying: "this startup repair operation cannot be cancelled. He hasi been like this for more than 2 days! and I can not access the system restore, the system cannot find an operating system. I don't know wat to do.
is the damaged hard drive or what? What should I do? Cause apparently I can't do anything.
Responses are welcome, I need.
Help, please!
Thank you!! you were right. The hard drive was completely corrupted, lots of bad sectors. And I was able to repair this damage scan my hard drive by using the "check disk" utility.i done it all on a bootable CD, which came with a sort of "independent mini OS '. because I could not do anything through my hard drive, or do anything that needs some information from my hard drive, I did it using a boot with a free operating system CD.
It had everything to do with the hard drive. All of you gave me useful information to help me solve this problem. Thank you very much.

System will not start or start at all. Do I have to re - install the OS Windows Wista? Work about to go back and fix?
Hello SteveO_1968,
To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:
- Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
- Press a key when you are prompted.
- Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
- Click repair your computer.
- Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
- In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
- Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
Note To start the computer from the Windows Vista DVD, the computer must be configured to start from the DVD drive. For more information on the configuration of the computer to start from the DVD drive, see the documentation provided with your computer or contact the computer manufacturer.
Bootrec.exe options
The Bootrec.exe tool supports the following options. Use the option that suits your situation.
Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:
- bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
- c:
- Boot CD
- BCD attrib s h - r
- Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
- Bootrec /RebuildBcd
/ FixMbr
The /FixMbr option writes a MBR compatible Windows Vista on the system partition. This option does not overwrite the existing partition table. Use this option when you need to solve problems of corruption of MBR, or when you need to remove the non-standard code from the MBR.
/ FixBoot
The /FixBoot option writes a new boot sector on the system partition by using a boot sector that is compatible with Windows Vista. Use this option if one of the following conditions is met:
- The boot sector has been replaced by a non-standard Windows Vista boot sector.
- The boot sector is damaged.
- An earlier Windows operating system has been installed after the installation of Windows Vista. In this scenario, the computer starts by using Windows NT Loader (NTLDR) instead of Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr.exe).
/ ScanOs
The /ScanOs option scans all disks for installations that are compatible with Windows Vista. In addition, this option displays the entries that are currently not in the BCD store. Use this option when there are installations of Windows Vista which is not in the Boot Manager menu.
/ RebuildBcd
The /RebuildBcd option scans all disks for installations that are compatible with Windows Vista. In addition, this option allows you to select the facilities you want to add to the BCD store. Use this option when you need to completely rebuild the BCD.

Sometimes when I restart my laptop I get this message: "no operating system found".
What should I do? I have only windows vista on my laptop and my system is clean and working properly.
Why I not get that?
After you receive this message, I press ctrl + alt + del then starts normally.
Hello
This problem may occur for a few reasons.
(1) hard disk cannot be read sometimes... maybe there are errors on the disc that 'may' be fix by running a utility or two.
(Open the computer and right click on the C drive and select Properties. Click on the Tools tab, and then click check now in the error-checking box.
You can also use the tool to defrag as well. It takes some time so do it when you don't need to do much.
You can also run the check disk from the command prompt. Click on START and type > order > press ENTER.
Type > chkdsk C: /f > press enterJust a test to see if the problem happens again.
2) there is an intermittent problem with your hard drive.
Hard drive might be close to going out. You may need to get a new drive. You can make a backup of the system and restore to the new drive... IF that is the question.
It could be the drive is simply 'loose' and needs to be reset. Should be just one or a few screws to remove the disc. Simply plug in the back and see if that was the issue.(3) the controller card has problems. It is bad on a laptop, because it would require a new motherboard... sending essentially to a store. If this would be probably covered under warranty.
The first option would certainly test carefully. If that does not do it, make sure that the disc is properly seated to make usre is not easy like that.
By all means, save all the files that you need to keep.
I hope this helps. Mark <> Microsoft Partner

'No operating system found' when you create the new machine virtual de DVD
Hi, I had problems with the creation of a new machine virtual (Server 2008 R2). After the initial creation, I turn on - then starts immediately to the network. I tried to change the boot order in the BIOS and even removed the NIC via Virtual Machine properties. I built VMs repeatedly using this method. I use an ISO DVD that I know, I created works. I select "connect to E:\. "that is my DVD drive on my laptop and have restarted (loses connection every time the DVD player). I even changed the type of E1000 VMXNET3 network adapter - makes no difference.
I feel good and truiy perplexed!
Any ideas?
You can connect the ISO remote only when the virtual machine is running.
I suggest you set a delay (or get into the BIOS), in the property of the VM, press ESC during POST to enter the Boot Menu, select CD but wait to confirm.
Connect the ISO and now start to begin.

No operating system not found of starting problems
I understand that there are other threads covering this error message, however none with this particular set of circumstances.
Reminder: My system came with an empty msata slot that I filled with a 240 gb intel 525. I did two great patricians, loading on Windows 7 and cloning the windows installation 8 factory to another. Bios supported configuration using inherited and put my ssd as the first drive in the boot order. and as if it was magical, I could duel boot 7 & 8.
Question: when I pulled the factory 5400 RPM drive I haven't had the no OS found message. Representing a little less a perfect starting, I went into recovery and command prompt 'bootrec (FixMbr/FixBoot/RebuildBcd)' commands. All crossed very well and after the closure of the cmd prompt window that I was given the opportunity to stop and start Windows 7 ultimate to the recovery page. Convinced that he had worked I accepted this offer and was welcomed by no operating system found once again. Confused, I went back and did cmd invites new bootrec /ScanOs and again found two. What I forget?
Thank you in advance for something useful.
Please do not take into account. Incace anyone else have this problem, I had to use the BcdBoot commands to add files of Bcd for each partition on the disk msata.

HP Envy 15 t-j100: no operating system after BIOS update
After many failures of start-up (see messages in the forum to Boot), I was advised to update the drivers, etc. Did so, using the HP Wizard, one of the system BIOS updates. It's the last thing I did on this machine, I use now a laptop borrowed. The update of the BIOS seemed to go well, installed, then checked her restarted. But it does not re - start. "No operating system found... "Thank you very much HP.
I told Win 7 Pro, when I ordered this machine instead of the 8 win pathetic, if I do not want to restore it to factory settings. Now, how can I get out of this hole?
David
Re-enter the BIOS and verify that Legacy boot is enabled-Secure boot disabled. If you need to change it don't forget to save & exit. When you restart for the first time after having turned startup security turned off, pay attention to the small notice indicating that you must confirm save this setting by entering a PIN shown + enter, otherwise these new settings in the BIOS are not saved.

Hello
I have a HP ML150 G6 Server ESXi with SBS2008 on RAID.
I have ESXi 4.1 runs a SBS2008 as virtual machine.
Everything was OK so far, I made a few updates, for the most part, security patches, and now, after a reboot, I get a message saying "no operating system found".
When I see the BIOS of the virtual machine, it looks like it cannot detect HD. However, the ESXi starts without a problem.
Where would be the problem? Should what steps I take?
Need urgent help.
Thank you
I don't want do not recommend MOA, but to repair the partitions and the value of an asset, you can just boot from the DVD Windows 2008 in repair mode, open a command line and use diskpart.
Before doing so, I recommend to create a snapshot. In this way all changes made to the virtual disk are written to the delta file and there is an option to go back in case something goes wrong.
