Compaq 6910p - wireless adapter turns off when the ethernet cable is connected

Hi all

Then, when I plug in an ethernet cable (connected to a router), my wireless adapter turns off.

He immediately turns on when I unplug the ethernet cable.

It isn't really a problem, either connection will provide my needs of networking, but it's just weird and I don't like it.

Using Win7 Ultimate 64 bit.

advice would be appreciated.

Hello:

This is the default setting to save the battery.

If you always want the wireless on, go into BIOS > Menu of device Configuration and activation to deactivate WLAN-LAN.

    Hello

    Very strange problem
First have you checked if you use the latest version of the BIOS?
    Please check this!

On the European driver Toshiba page you will always find the latest BIOS and divers.

Secondly, I would recommend disabling more upward on LAN option in the BIOS and in properties (device-> LAN properties-> Advanced tab management) LAN card

Check if this may help solve this problem

  • Satellite A60 turns off when the only power is connected

    Hello

Recently my original adapter has stopped working and I bought a new one. However, the problem with this new is that when it works perfectly until you hear the windows that open sounds and then she just turns off. But when I plug the AC with the battery connected to the laptop, it works fine. It's just that it will not correctly work with just the AC is plugged.

    HEY Fan Wai,

It seems that your new adapter cannot supply enough current to power your laptop when it is under load. I suggest you check the rated power of the new adapter agaoinst those of the original.

  • System suddenly turn off when the external display is connected

I have problem with my system. every time I connect a projector or a HDMI my system stays for a short time and shuts...

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

    1. The computer completely off, or only the monitor turns off?
    2. You get an error message or a blue screen while the system is turns off? If Yes, what is the exact error message you get?
    3. What is brand and model your computer?
    4. Apart to plug the projector, does this problem occurs in all other conditions also?
    5. What happens when you try to turn on the computer later, with a projector connected?

I suggest you to check if the computer shuts down completely or only the monitor turns off. If the computer shuts down, the problem may reside with the graphics card driver that fits inconsistent or has become unstable or corrupt. Therefore, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of hardware categories, find the display adapters and select the device driver you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
    3. Click the driver tab, click Update driver, and then follow the instructions. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information, visit the below mentioned link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

If you are not able to update the device driver via windows update, you can visit your computer or graphics card manufacturer's Web site and download & install the latest driver. Or contact the manufacturer of your system to do.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem persists, please post back with answers to questions for assistance, we will be happy to help you.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • Accelerometer turns off when the screen is off

When testing my application on a Z10 android port the accelerometer turns off when the screen is off. A partial wake lock does not turn the sensor back on. A wake dim screen lock is needed to re - turn on the detector. This behavior forces the screen to be all the time when an application requires the use of these sensors.

An example would be a pedometer recording the steps throughout the day. In order to operate the screen must be turned on by the application that runs in the background. This will cause a fast draining of the battery and is not an acceptable solution.

On Android, a partial wake lock is enough to keep the accelerometer running.

I think this should be reported as a deficiency, a lot of motion carried since Android applications will be blocked by this and my app port is one of them.

Tested on system Z10, model number STL100-3. Version of the 10.1.0.273 software

The fix will appear in MR 10.2, 10.2.1 aka.

Hey all. I desperately need help. I have a laptop "Durabook" with Windows XP meidand service pack 3 update.  The internal speakers have never turned off when I plug a headset or headphone cable of the adapter into the outlet. Once the cd ends and ejects I insert another cd and nothing happens. Once again, I've closed and reopened WMP and evrything is ready to be torn APART again.

Please please help.  I can't be the only one who had this problem.  I removed all anti-virus programs, removed and reinstalled WMP, twice.

  • T460 touchpad responds liked when the Ethernet cable is plugged

    Hello

I bought a brand new ThinkPad T460 ten days ago and I noticed that when I plug in an Ethernet cable, the touchpad responds: just a few clicks and taps are missed, the movement is slow and and sometimes temporarily blocked. The touchpad comes alive again as soon as the Ethernet cable is disconnected. The trackpoint and trackpoint button above the touchpad are not affected, only the touchpad starts to misbehave.

This happens on both Windows and Linux, this isn't a problem of specific operating system. Furthermore, I checked to see if I am running the latest version of the BIOS, and I am. And there are no problems when you use the wireless adapter, but one of the reasons why I bought a ThinkPad was she has a port Ethernet, so not being able to use it would be extremely disappointing.

I checked to see if there are any IRQ conflicts for the touchpad, but could find none. The problem occurs when the computer is plugged in and when it runs on battery only. I also tried two different cables in the same router, each in a different router port, and the problem persisted.

I'm using the latest drivers for Windows 7 directly on the Lenovo site, and Arch Linux with kernel 4.4.5 - the Ethernet card is considered:

    e1000e [2.751703]: Intel® PRO/1000 3.2.6 - k network driver
    e1000e [2.751705]: Copyright (c) Intel Corporation 1999-2015.

Should I expect it is fixed with a BIOS update, or do I have to contact guarantee? It is unacceptable to live with it.

Tried in another House as promised, and the touchpad works very well with cable Ethernet is plugged. Also, before you leave the House with the problem, I discovered that the problem occurs only when the cable from my ISP switch is plugged into my router.

Respect my opinion that this machine deserves a stronger touchpad, but apparently is not due to lack of computer - under normal circumstances, there is no problem with the touchpad.

I'm stumped on how to proceed. Can I use a multimeter on the ISP switch from cable, but I'm not sure what to check (voltage? how does and between what son?). I'll also look into the suggestion of ferrite, I don't know where they are available - this thread is first heard of them.

Anyway, I wanted to just erase Lenovo name on it.

Hmmm... strange question. Maybe, it's driver conflict problem. In any case, try reinstalling driver Lan and touchpad. Before you update, edition of lan and touchpad drivers (usb mouse may be necessary after edition touchpad driver). If there is still problem, restore the settings from the factory with a recovery disk...
