Compaq Evo n800 RAM upgrade

I want to spend 512 to 1 or 2 GB of RAM.  HP "memory finder" does not list the Compaq Evo n800c (8 years ago), but how do I make sure I get the right replacement? Reference number?  PC 2100 2533 D Z s (the zeor could be had of).

Here is a link to the Quick Card on your laptop.

Here is a Google search, I did memory upgrades for your laptop.

The trick is to buy only compatible RAM guaranteed. Some have a lifetime guarantee.

Now, I run my CQ42-258VX with RAM 2x2gb. I want to improve this laptop RAM at 2x8Gb(16Gb). But according to the website of intel processor i5 - 450 M maximum RAM is only 8 GB

I want to know if I still switch to 16 GB, what will happen?

(a)-l' another 8 GB of RAM is not detected by the BIOS of the laptop, so I can't use it at all, or

    (b) - 16 GB of RAM is detected by the BIOS of the laptop but I can't use it due to the limitation of the processor, but I can still use it for other functions such as using it to become RAMDisk

I would like to know the answer, because if the answer 'a') that's going to happen so I will not waste my money and I'll buy 8 GB of RAM instead of buy the 16 GB

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: RAM upgrade

    Hello!

I tried to replace the 4 GB of RAM, upgrade to 8 GB with a pair of G.Skill. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as planned, instead, I had a series of beeps and a black screen. RAM details below:

    old RAM: Samsung M378B5273CH0-CK0

    4GB 2Rx8 PC3-12800U-11-10-B0 1.5V

    New RAM: G.SKILL RipJaws X

    F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

    PC3-12800 4GBx2

    CL9-9-9-24 1.5V

The Rams are not compatible with the system or are there other factors that could have caused it?

    Claude, welcome to the forum.

Here's Maintenance and Service Manual for the computer.  On Page 94, you will find the section of memory for the computer.  Please read it carefully.  What I've read, only seems to me that the new memory is compatible with the motherboard.  I think that the timings are incorrect.

    Mr O Bennett

    You are the very welcome.

I mean, it is explore you the file and select with the mouse, then click Next and it should install the driver

You cannot copy and paste anything.

You can first try this method easier to install the driver...

When you arrive at her browse my computer for driver software option, go to: C:\SWSetup\sp27103, make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

The original file that I gave my instructions has the hardware ID you posted, so you need to install the driver (8086-2445)

  • Compaq Evo D5pM - problems using this model number, never find what he listed...

Compaq Evo D5pM - (Pent4 - 1.7 GHz) problems using this model looking for parts or information number.  Serial number has not been useful.

Someone said "aka Compaq D510." Trying to buy memory model (found on the case) my number wasn't so I tried to use D510 (it was listed). Apparently not the same computer / mine use 168 pins sticks and D - 510 came 188 pins. I did my 'upgrade' purchase by check the number of pins and using the already installed type.

My computer is a vertical minitower - looks like D - 510-, but like I said the components are different.

I was wondering if anyone knows a model Compaq Evo w / same components (P4 1.7 GHz; 168 pin memory) I could use for research purposes. The smallest horizontal model Evo often uses different (smaller) maps, etc..

Tried the Ctrl-Alt-S keyboard shortcut to bring up the model number (etc.), but my keyboard shortcuts do not work on this computer. Run a search for edge came up with nothing to tune.

I tried HP support and drivers.  With the help of several model numbers and found that absolutely nothing for HP Compaq or "Compaq" is in the list.

It is a great 3rd computer that I've updated w / spare parts, use it remotely, especially for music. Only problem was the dark model number. If anyone has something useful to add would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance...

PS I'm currently trying to identify MB for what it's worth, but a number of alternative model that works would be great.

    Hello:

Your model is a d500 CMT HP.

    1 GB 128 x 64-133 MHz PC133, 168P DIMM, 3.3V, sync

Type of memory: , (non - ECC)
    Maximum memory: 3 GB
    Slots: 3

Because nobody does more than the memory, it will be hard to find and very expensive.

You can plan on paying more $ $70 / 1 GB chip if you do not find the specification above used on a place like eBay.

You can buy a newer, faster CMT from HP on eBay for less than $70 delivered.  Memory is much cheaper to buy as well.

  • Old Compaq Evo N1020V, replace the hard drive on the SSD

    Hello
I wanted to extend the life of my old Compaq Evo N1020V Intel P4. I bought a Transcend SSD TS32GSSD25-m, connected to the computer, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available F.0B January 24, 2007. Unfortunately, when the computer starts the message: 0200: failure fixed disk 0
Is it possible to connect the SSD drive to the old computer?

    I see that now.

You initialize the drive using the FDISK utility? If it is not initialized it would not even necessarily considered gift.

Installation of an operating system on an SSD, this isn't the same as it is with an electromagnetic drive legacy.  It is a little involved with an old SSD OCZ Vertex and enough conversely simple with a Corsair SSD upgrade kit. I own both. The upgrade of the Corsair was as simple as with the SATA supplied to the usb connector and software cloning with that also it was delivered.

To do a bit of research I saw that there is not much in material information facility available on the web for this particular SSD. Maybe the transcend technical support would have been a better place to look for info on the installation. Transcend would have supported their product. The post that is marked as the solution is not correct. It is as you say a disc SSD PATA. It must have worked. the problem seems to be more a problem installation or a failing Transcend SSD drive. return the drive for a replacement and try again.

    Best regards

  • Compaq evo n610c does not start

On May 7, 2010 my Compaq evo N610c would boot is no longer using a battery 1 years and a power adapter c bought the same year (2009). Without battery back installed and using only a c power, I noticed that the front battery light flashes constants 8 consecutive flashes. Installing battery below with a trendy c, the indicator light flashes 8 times once then stops completely. No boot or indications of electricity except the 8 consecutive flashes. How can I fix this problem with your technical help?

Do all very simple, basic stuff first and don't complicate questions take your time, this is a must. Take a rest if nessessary. Then go back to the difficulty of the laptop not operating, disconnect the laptop from the wall. Then remove the battery, memory (ram) chips and then remove the hard drive. Then reconnect the power cord for your laptop computer and the wall outlet. So, or if you receive the same light that flashes in the battery of the portion of front indicator along while your laptop is connected then finally power, it could be the small battery watch itty-bitty plugged into your motherboard the fancy name for it is the battery CMOS. Find it and take it out... Wait a minute! Reinstall the battery itty bitty. Your laptop should start, if other difficulties with any operational material occurs, spend 5.00 to buy another battery to your local convince store. Take your computer before hand to a technician for repair will cost you at least $180 and they tend to feel guilty to charge you that much either... Just for $5.00 battery replacement. See, I answered my own question taking my own time-same guy who wrote the community for technical assistance. Thanks to all and you're welcome.

  • Compaq Evo graphics card question

    Hello

Recently we gave me a Compaq Evo D500 or D510 CMT opportunity, not sure which, but it looks like this: http://www.computronicsdistribution.com/images/Compaq_Evo_D510_Tower.jpg

I wanted to update the video card which is the following: http://cdn3.ioffer.com/img/item/104/527/401/VDve.jpg

for maybe a 32 MB card. The computer is currently the operating system Windows 2000 w / SP4 installed.

The reason for the upgrade is that I tried to install games on it for my mother to play and it seems most have compatibility issues. I guess it's the video card or drivers (I have drivers installed already). I thought it would be a sure way to make all the games to play correctly. The computer is pretty much only used for these games and is not yet online. Any help would be useful.

    Thank you

    Eric

It's an old AGP card that can run in a slot 3.3 v or 1.5 v and I saw that the motherboard is a 1.5V AGP slot, so pretty much any AGP card will work. If you have any type MOM computer stores and pop in your town I would go to one and ask them if they have an old school used AGP cards. You could switch to something like a card GeForce2 or GeForce3, which should cost only a few bucks now.

Here are 2 ebay auction for what I'm talking about:

    eBay

    eBay 2

It would also be useful to know what games you are talking about. They have specific minimum specifications. I might also suggest that the upgrade to Windows XP would be a good idea. Windows 2000 was not a good gaming platform and Windows Xp handles much better 3D graphics.

  • Compaq Evo W6000 workstation question

    Hi all

I just got a hand on a Compaq Evo W6000 workstation with a dual Xeon processor.  I'm not familiar with this desktop computer and have a question.  I have good installed RAM and two CPUs are installed.  The problem is that only has a heat sink so it starts just 15 seconds before it is cut.  I believe that this office will work with a single processor.  Does it matter what outlet is used first?  I took the CPU with no heatsink out and it wouldn't start.  Once installed it quickly heated up and closed off the coast.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Kevin

    Thank you Paul

Kind is my question... One of the clips is off.  I have checked and found a heat sink but did not find any brackets or fixing clips.  I'll try each separately taken to see what is happening.  Someone at - it clips or materials available for sale.

    Thanks again, Paul

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If you have more questions just after, again :)

    Hi all

I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.
