  • My Compaq laptop just turns off

I have an old Compaq laptop of 2 years with an AMD Athlon x 2 chip.  I just added RAM (from 2 GB to 3 GB). Simply, it turns off after a while when I do intense things like games and disk imaging. It does not freeze, it just SE releases. I think that it is overheating. Adding RAM does computers running more hot? What can I do? Chris Mah

Download/run the parser above to check the compatibility of the RAM with what already existed.

If it's over-hreating, make sure that your machine is well ventilated and clean.

You may need a Tech to open your laptop to clean the inside.

You can buy cans of compressed air to clean it.

  • HP Pavilion DV7 turns off suddenly when running

I sincerely hope that you can help me or point me please in the direction from where can I get support for this problem.

I bought a HP Pavilion DV7 - 3180us Entertainment Notebook to the United States in 2010.  I now live in England.

My problem is that my laptop keeps turning off randomly without warning.

Is my product number: WA718UA #ABA, my OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

I ran each test component (HP System Diagnostics), all items sent with the exception of the hard.

My test log shows the following error codes:

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-Q2BX03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-61BK03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-61TT03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-61TT03

    PLQ36M-53L6M6-XD002J-60 CT 03

    My BIOS:

    F.1D, 10/05/2010

I bought and tried a new battery, but this does not resolve the issue.

(Any time), I use a Cooler Master NotePal U3 Laptop Cooler with fans positioned where my laptop gets hotter (down the laptop, when the laptop is in its normal in good position, the hot zone going from the upper left corner (about where is the power button), to down to about the caps lock key; the width of the side left on the F3 key). (This also does not resolve the issue.)

I'm looking forward to your reply.

Finally got support from HP (for some reason, my phone and my other half phone just kept to end the call when I tried to call, even if we had enough credit, could finally operate using Skype as Skype allows free 1-800 numbers even if you use Skype from the United Kingdom).

In case it helps someone else out there he said:

Only the fact that I have recently updated my BIOS would help with overheating problems. Any overheating problems that I knew could not be due to (for example) the motherboard or graphics card, etc. That it may be wise to have my radiator and fan replaced.

Mainly: (no surprises) should I have my hard drive replaced ($155 - $200).

For a person living in the United States the total costs (disk hard, heat sink and fan) would be $ 200 to $ 300 (cost of labor and shipping included).

  • Pavilion g6 turned off and will not turn back on

My g6 kept turning off unexpectedly, and now it will not even turn around.  Help, please.

The fire being orange means that the computer is "charge" of the battery.  If it is always orange and never goes back to white then there is something wrong with the battery because it is not that it is fully charged and the continuous computer to keep it loads or not related that she stopped.  This could be a battery problem or a problem with the computer loading mechanism.  It's probably more with the battery what either.  If you can get the computer to boot with the battery and you can get the HP utility Center to open, you can have it run a test on the battery and give you information about your battery.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 turns off!

Initially, I was trying to get my blu ray DVD play.  I downloaded another drive and uninstalled the HP mediasmart dvd.  It did not work so I deleted the new player and went into the system to an earlier time restore and did.  After I restarted my computer, it started randomly turning off the coast and by that I mean the screen.  It turns black.  I click on enter or left clidk mouse (it seems he invites) then after 5 seconds or if the lights on the right side start to Flash and the display returns. It's already happened and I forgot the solution.  Also, my battery died a month ago so I removed it.

    Thanks in advance!  ccrossland5

I understand that once you have done a restore, your computer screen will go out randomly to a black screen, but you move your mouse or press on enter the display will return in a few seconds.

It seems that the computer goes into a sleepmode, when you press a button, that it wakes it upward.  Here is a document on Management of power (Windows 7 and Vista) Options to help you. It cannot identify your exact model as you he did not, but the instructions will be the same.  How can I find my model number or product number

If you're still evil try this.

In the search bar run type command prompt.

Right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator.

Type powercfg /restoredefaulstschemes press ENTER, if this does not work try a hyphen rather than the / the depends on the operating system, you're running.

Please let me know the results and have a good day.

  • HP Pavilion notebook15-ab035ax: computer HP Pavilion 15 laptop turns off suddenly on low battery

I bought my hp laptop Pavilion in India. Now, I live in England. For the last month or two, I have problems with my laptop. Whenever the laptop is on battery power, it does very quickly. It randomly stops (no stops, just turned off with a gut wrenching tinkling of the hard drive) at any time under load of 50%. no notification of low battery or go into hibernation. It can happen in the middle of typing a sentence or you to browse.

I ran the diagnostic. Software battery check HP first showed a result of "low battery." I was about to order a new battery, when I ran the software once again, who now says "main battery OK.

It's very confusing, because even if we agree that the battery has developed a problem, I do not understand why the system is not detect low battery or putting the computer to Hibernate, depending on settings. I checked the drivers - updated.

The laptop is just a year and 3-4 months.

Should I replace the battery? Or is it a software error in the new upgrade of windows 10?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • HP Pavilion HPE h9 - 1120-t Phoenix - PC suddenly starts turning Off after a few Minutes of use

Posted this on the Forum for questions of another office before I reduced the problem.  No one answered:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/other-desktop-PC-questions/HP-Pavilion-HPE-H9-1120t-Phoenix-PC-suddenly...

Announcing this computer from July 2012 and not even a hiccup.  4 days, the computer suddenly began turn power off. It doesn't stop, it turns off, the plug was pulled. When I reboot I get the message of abnormal termination of Windows.   There is no warning at all.  No message as the computer is overheating.  He comes to occur when the computer is idle without programs will open.

When it stops, the power supply unit light goes out for a minute then comes back on the 'green' and the computer can be restarted.

I unplugged the power cord and relugged and it seems fine.

The computer is aware of the updates of Windows and can be stopped normally.

I removed the cover and clean the dust and confirmed all fans are running properly.  I left the lid off the coast, and the computer stops again.

I must add that when the computer is started 'cold' it runs about 15 minutes.  If you restart after it just closed, you have maybe 3-5 minutes of use.

Why did you think it was overheating.

    Any ideas?  Thank you.

    Specifications of the computer:

What thermal paste on the processor?

There are two programs, you could download to monitor the temperature of the CPU

    Speccy free:
