Compaq Presario C555NR Notebook CPU

Hi all

I have a laptop Compaq Presario C555NR. I think about upgrading the processor to something better. Right away

It is a Celeron M 1.6 GHz clocked.

This question, I asked Compaq and downright they told me that this laptop CPU cannot be upgraded. Until I give up,

I would like to ask those of you who have this laptop, if you were able to upgrade the processor and what spend you

TO? In addition, any idea that the best processor, it's that this laptop can support and instructions to upgrade?

Thank you!

I'm not quite as negative as infernoman but it is essentially correct. Portable versions of Celeron from HP computers generally have a different motherboard, and you cannot install a Core 2 Duo or Pentium because speedstepping function is not supported by the motherboard. Celeron not speedstep. You can install a faster Celeron, but why bother? It is not something for a novice to try to do. Just sell your laptop and buy a better one than you will always before an upgrade of the processor.

Windows 7-64 bit o/s. y at - it a cpu I can go to for this laptop? the celeron is a w/single core wire I think. I would switch to a dual-core (at least) if possible. How can I find a list of processors that can I update? the model number is WQ778UA #ABA. the serial number is *. any help would be appreciated.

    davidljtn44

You can virtually none of the PENRYN 45nm lithography processors put in it, the optimal processor, you can upgrade is the Intel core 2 duo t9500. I have the same laptop and I have the next step down from what is the Intel core 2 duo processor t9300. There is no complete list of the processors that it will support the lists that you will find are incomplete at best even Intel does not update their information. Go to intel.com and search PENRYN in a search more people you can use, you need to compare to ensure that.

  • Compaq Presario V2410CA Notebook Series 2005 recovery plant

My computer is a Compaq Presario V2410CA series Notebook 2005 that is running Microsoft Windows XP, home edition, SP2. Find it me coming again, No Manual of real user and No restore CD. There are two CD: (1) operating system CD for Windows XP Home Edition, SP2, and (2) the Application and Driver Recovery DVD. While they inspected the "My Computer" folder, I see that the hard drive has No partitions. I have, to the best of my abilities, exhausted all remedies the user guides and help and have failed in my attempt to perform a factory restore. in other words, for any delete on the hard drive and restore power back to factory settings. If someone could provide me detail the 'how' to achieve this, I'll be sincerely grateful. More friendly personal greetings, George King.

You need to boot from the CD of the operating system. Put in the drive and restart your laptop. You can receive a command prompt type any key to boot from CD on on/off, or it can boot from it automatically. Choose to install, once reach you the screen where your hard drive is displayed choose to format and reinstall. After installing XP, the driver cd & Application run.

  • Compaq Presario CQ57 - 411TU CPU processor or graphics card update

I was wondering if I could upgrade graphics card or my CPU processor. It seems that a lot of games I play on this shift of mobile as hell, so I was wondering if I could spend an of these. Thank you. FYI its games as COD hanging like hell and some games that need changed mipmap settings the graphics card cannot change a few pieces of the game is fuzzy (not to die of hunger).

CPU: Intel Celeron B815 clocked at 1.6 GHz

    Graphics card: GPU Intel(r) HD

There is not really a valid upgrade for you option. Has a Celeron processor models also have a motherboard which do no accept a Core (i3, i5, etc.), so you are stuck with maybe a little faster but still lame processor but nothing that will get you where you want to be. The video is a complete non-starter. There is no way in the world to do something with it. Your laptop is to make the work of the office and internet and your best bet is to sell and get something with a graphic power and treatment.

  • Compaq Presario S5010IL PC: CPU fan error

My CPU fan has failed. I replaced it with a new fan. Her works very well. However, I get the CPU fan on startup error message. After pressing the F2 key, the computer starts up and is great for the long hours of work. While trying to determine the cause of the error message from the BIOS, I found that there is nothing to select the advance tab. I want to know why this error message appears whenever I start the machine and how to solve it.

The new fan should equal the "rpm" of the old fan. If it's slower, you this warning. If its too slow, the computer will stop.

  • Compaq Presario CQ61 Notebook Hard Disk 1 full (305)

    Hi there everyone,

I have a problem with my laptop start-up where windows can sometimes load and run, but other times I gives me the option to "Repair Windows" or "Start Windows normally".

I got the message "boot device found" or "Please install and opertaing system."

Well, I know that it is a responsible OS that I wouldn't be able to sometimes start in windows successfully.

Primary hard disk Self Test I ran and returned the following results:

    Quick test

    100% complete...

    Hard drive Test passed.

    Full test

    48% complete...

    Hard drive 1 full (305)

    Intelligent control

    HDD SMART spending

    End of the test.

    What does all this mean?

My hard drive is in failure or default and on there way out, or y at - it cable losing hard disk connection.

Any assistance with this issue, I'd be very happy.

    See you soon

  • Compaq Presario CQ62-219wm: CPU Upgrade - Presario CQ62-219WM

I'm looking to upgrade the processor in this laptop as the base processor (the processor Intel Celeron 900 2.2GHz) is simply not enough for my needs.  I did my own research and I found (to be confirmed) this list of compatible processors purportedly in the service manual for my laptop. However, I have some questions and concerns.  Here are few of those who are supposed to be compatible with my specific system:

    ______________________________________________________________________

Apparently, all of the aforementioned processors are compatible with my system, but some are only compatible with some models (model i.e. 1.1 and 1.2).  How can I determine which model I have and what processor will give me the best output for my money?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated!

It may "work", but as I said the GL40 simply has no circuits to take full advantage of the advanced features of the high range processors. Also no he don't mention not all i-series processors in the list. They are all Core 2 Duo T4200 except. Your Celeron 900 is one heart. Even a Pentium dual as say the T4200 will be much better and will be fully compatible with the GL40 chipset and very cheap to start.
