Compaq presario co50-210us - fail to start

We have a laptop Compaq Presario CO50-210US, yesterday, the screen started to decrease in intensity, and access to programming or internet became slow. Finally, the screen went black and the computer turns off.  Since then, any attempt to power on the results of the computer in the 3 in the FRONT lights flashing 3 times and then nothing.  Power supply is correctly attached and plugged and a hard reset didn't help, and I don't see any other options.  I recently used can air and blew out the dust of all openings, I could find including remove the panels for access to the disk modules and hard memory. This computer has a history of heat so much that he stopped in the past, and re - start not only cooled, (half an hour or more), even though he is sitting on a cooling block at any time.

Any suggestions on what to do next? And what does the blink code mean?  Any help will be welcome.

Solution:

Apparently, the three flashing lights mean 'wall charger is DEAD, and the battery is empty.  Bought and plugged a new charger and the computer works as before.

Hello.  I know for my brother, if his Compaq Presario CQ60-210US laptop that is running Vista 32-bit operating system, can be upgraded to a 64-bit version/edition of Windows 7, 8.1/8 or 10?   As stated, the laptop OS is Vista 32 bit, and I think that's Vista Home Premium, but I'm not sure.  It has 4 GB of RAM, which is the maximum for a 32 bit OS.   I realize that you can do an upgrade on the spot of a 32-bit operating system to a 64-bit OS and it will take a clean install, but nobody knows if material of this laptop, BIOS etc supports 64-bit operating systems?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It is my opinion, to you, you can run 64-bit or 32-bit. Sogtware much still run as 32-bit anyway.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60-210US: UMA or discrete graphics

I have a laptop HP Compaq Presario CQ60-210US with a NVIDIA GeForce 8200 M G graphics card.  Is there memory graph UMA or discrete.

For some reason, I need to know this, when you order a new fan.

Thanks for any help on this.

    Hello:

The service manual doesn't list graphic adapters as discrete for models with AMD processors.

See the table in Chapter 1 on 1-2 and 1-3 pp.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02985882

So, I have to say that you need the Assembly of fan/radiator for a laptop AMD with the memory of the UMA.

He is the only one, I noticed that in Chapter 3.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60-210US pre-staged at level question

I have a laptop Compaq Presario CQ60-210US I intend to upgrade to Windows 7.  Right now it is running Vista 32 bit and 2 GB memory system.  I am considering upgrading to 4 GB in the future and I know that on systems with dedicated video memory, that should be the 64-bit version.

What I want to know, because the video chip takes his memory system memory and has no own dedicated memory, if she really wants to be worth upgrading to Windows 7 64 - bit during the upgrade to Windows 7 32 bit?

Well, if you want not to lose any only upgrade to 3 GB, it removes the BONE size and is used for the video if you put 4 GB, but you can still see an improvement over 3 GB.

I tried both on no specialized memory units and I saw a slight improvement with 4, nothing to wirte welcome words but I was running SW benchmarking.

So 3 GB and you lose nothing, 4 GB, you may lose half a GB.

  • Compaq Presario SR2010NX beep code error starting: longbeeppausecontinuinglongbeepspausebetweeneach

Hello.  My Compaq Presario Desktop PC SR2010NX of 2006 began just not start.  It gives me a sound code of long beeps that accompany pause after each beep and continue indefinitely.  I have tried convenience cheques, and it looks as if it was the 'memory '.  My question, FEI's memory, what cards are hardware compatible with my PC.  I had a breakdown.    to install a new set of 2 GB cards in July - and I had technicians immediately reinstall my old 2 cards (issued factory) replacement cards they have advised me to buy are not compatible, and when I went to pick up my computer, the computer would not start.  I have askede to reinstall my old cards and the computer booted suceesfully, and I left the store!  I am sure that I do not know what new products could be compatible with my old PC.  I thhink 4 GB is too myuch for my computer, and he couldn't get half that - but what brand should be like new hardwrae?  I wasn't expecting my old cards fail when they were resettled - three months since the change of memory attempt - thre months they started normally.  They have been re-hurriedly harnessed and dismissed the case, and then I left the store.  (The tech threatedned me with fear of "motherboard failure", which just made get the computer and leave immediately.  The old cards cannot have been relocated safely.  I'm taking it - but I will not be pushed around.  Of course - as old as mine PC would gradually motherboard failure.  Until it fails.  It was the memory card, but what woud cards my PC take that would be accepted as new hardware and allow my PC to boot up normally, if it is the cards and not yet the motherboard?

I have now read the post with indicator on the upgrade memory.  It was very useful, and I wrote notes for the Presario.

It says, maximusmis 2 GB to 1 GB cards/no stamped with the form of the data of motherboard page.

It is divided between 2 cards 512 MB factory.  It has only 2 slots.

Thank you.  My Compaq desktop computer has grown on me.  I got Vista bfore and I didn't know what I think.  If it can be repaired, I think 8 years (purchase date 4 November 2006) were fun for the low-end model.  It was a good choice, and I have never regretted buying at what cost.  It was better than expected.

I haven't used my Compaq Presario continually over the past eight years - that's why it lasted so long!  Dud ut do work, however.  I had retirement is put online last year

I liked HP Photosmart first 6.5 photo editing.  I liked Wordpad.  Mechanically, it was scientifically.  The material began to go when the built-in CD/DVD internal drive has failed.  I bought and had a replacement (DVD player (cd) internal HP) installed in July 2014.

The new internal DVD writer HP compatible service pack XP? I have SP2) - I don't think it's about compatible new material.  This caused unable to start new businesses after three months?  New feature of device recognistion and old motherboard? Don't know?  (short circuit)?  I left the old CD/DVD recorder factory in its case - it's there and the springs are working to open and close the casing and check it / A short?  Don't know anything about electric

Another point, when the original memory card 512 MB on factory 2 cards have been resettled, he was press-technicians to get the computer to boot - so the computer's case has been closed.   (I took the PC on their part awqay as fast it was closed upward).  I thought safe in maintaining clips?  Maybe not securely harnessed.  Could also be from the old factory of 512 memory cards in each clip spare wedge - to alternate which card and which support clip.  I have not tried this or re-cutting to the place of repair.  (I do not have any technical installation and not have ny contact danger here - I do not touch the computer).  It is the matter of repair - these people in a hurry, they sell - they tell you something will work, they overtest, they overdiagnose - they push you autour-yyou never recover your computer to use as is - it is disturbing to go, if you are not a consumer savvy or technical.

May not be able to take new material old = change motherboard in chipsets, etcs. features.

Ialso had an error saying years only. IPC Port would not work.  (. COMI, has failed to initialize.  It's a pop-up error message appeared during the startup process.  The repair people off the message.  The boot has been at once - disconnect - the plugin twice and electric start.  It was based on the plug in the socket, removed and reconnected before the start =.  Technicians tried to solve this problem, but it is not important from my point of view.  All of those, cumulatively, could be symptoms of a hardware change progressive until the end of the use of PC - they are all could be chips card mother falling out or something there (the CD player, the.) Port COMI - don't know about the real, even if start program - which can only be that.)

I tried the power reset function discussed in the Troubleshooting Online Web pages - 5 seconds to reset, / 15 seconds to reset - power off (unplugged) and hold the power button / stop without plug-in for 5 or 15 seconds (depends on the Web page of the online manual!)  Once, after an attempt to reset of fifteen seconds, the computer has no beep, and he almost made a second rumble noise - but then no change afterwards.  The redonnee start-up sound code beep after that the computer was turned off and then restarted again.

PC is sitting in his corner.  I don't want someone break while I think about what to do.  He's going nowhere right now.

This is the first time, it would not start.  I am a bit worried and disappointed, but, I know that my PC is old, and one day, it will fail to work.  That is the reality.  If it fi fixable, I'm interested to hear about the fit-it.  Thanks again.

    Hello @lliil,

I read what you posted and it seems that you have a hardware problem with your computer. The only thing I can do for you is to provide you with the HP support document: BIOS Beep Codes, which will help you to correctly identify what's wrong with your computer. Given the age of the computer apart from this if you want to know if it can be fixed, I recommend do you get into a local computer repair shop and let them take a look.

I hope I helped. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Compaq Presario turns on but not start

    Product: HP Compaq Presario
    Model: SR5250NX
    OS: Windows Vista

Symptoms: When you press the power button, all the lights come on as expected. However, a slight popping noise that sounds as if it is coming from the hard drive will ensue. The monitor, mouse and keyboard are not recognized despite being plugged in, even if the speakers are always lit. It is a problem, I am back after a journey of four days out of town, and I heard the internal fans speed up just from time to time for months. I guess this thing is fried, but I hope it can be fixed. Thank you.

  • Compaq Presario CQ56-106SL: failed to update Bios

    Hello

my laptop had a version of bios F03, I downloaded the HP driver page associated with this model, the latest version of F18, the InsydeFlash utility began, showed me the latest version of the bios (F03) and the new version of the bios to be installed (F18).

After you PC rebooted automatically, at startup, a window showed the new bios was ready to be installed, I pressed enter, installation began, writes the blocks of 512, checked the blocks of 512 and at this stage, the laptop got stuck showing the 512/512 blocks have been checked and the progress bar 100%.

After abou 1 hour, I decided to stop the laptop, the only way to do so was unconnect the battery pack.

I turned on the laptop, but it shows once again the new bios is ready to install, I repeated the process a few times but the result is the same awvays.

By turning on the sistem, I can also skip the update of the bios by pressing ESC, doing so Windows7 starts normally, but every time I restart the laptop that I should ignore the upgrade, and I just can't access the bios Setup.

I tried to install any other bios versions downloaded from the HP driver page associated with this model, but none of them worked, even the original version F03 no longer works.

The result for all of the versions I've tried is almost the same, some time it install the bios, but the check fails, some time, that the installation fails also the 391 block or the block 33.

Can anyone suggest me what it takes to win the correct bios behavior?

    Thank you very much

    Roberto

    Thank you

I solved my problem, I'm not exactly sure how.

I immediately pressed the ESC key and mem test form CD, after that a new restart and entered in the configuration of the BIOS with the F10 key. I have change everything, but now the laptops starting mormally.

I have the BIOS original version F03.

  • Compaq Presario CQ62 210US not: Compaq Presario CQ62 210US Notebook

You want to set for this laptop recovery.  I wonder exactly what I copy discs, the new installation OEM, or one that is here now with added software and other.  I guess that happens since the recovery Partition and it's always the OEM factory settings.

I have also been informed, I have perhaps only albe to accomplish once with the installation of HP, is true on this laptop in particular?

    Thank you pcpunk

If you have a malware infection, he "" could have affected the functions of Recovery Manager - recovery & creating discs. You can order your support here page recovery media:

    https://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/mediaOrder?cc=us&LC=en&productOid=4221033&softwareitem=618139-001

    -------------------------------------------------

BTW - a process that has worked for some, not all - is on the occasion of the recovery partition Active. This works in a large percentage of cases, but can result in the laptop, go into a reboot loop if the recovery partition is corrupted. This would require starting with a utility disk to deselect the partition.

1.right - click on the "Computer" icon and select manage.
    2. This will launch the Microsoft Management Console.
    3. on the left side of the MMC console, click "Disk management" and it will show you all the partitions.
    4. right - click on the "HP Recovery" partition and select "Mark as Partition Active."
    5. when the warning message appears, select 'Yes' – Reboot and it will automatically start in the Recovery Manager.

Before you try this, you can create a bootable cd to boot from to uncheck the partition as Active and Mark C as Active - just in case the recovery partition is corrupted.  Scroll down the page and get > CD Bootable and > ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd, a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is > here. Once created, boot from it.

  • Compaq Presario CQ62-412NR does not start. Caps lock flashes.

The LED caps lock flashes repidadly with long breaks between each blink, the wireless light and constant and the adapter LED is steady. I read blink codes and determined, he was the processor, but the problem persists after him substituting a known good. I finished the resets power to clear the bios before and after the change of the CPU. I also tried to replace the RAM. Anyone here have a clue whats going on?

This looks like a problem with the motherboard if you already replaced the CPU and RAM.

It would be probably cheaper to replace the unit at this time only so, fix it or replace the motherboard.

  • Laptop Compaq Presario CQ60-210US

Need driver for Coprocesser. No luck when I run the update driver automatically. I installed Windows 8 on a machine that had originally Windows Vista preinstalled. Because I chose REFORMATT DISC before the instalation, maybe that's why I lost driver. The troubleshooting tool tells me to install a NVIDIA driver / software. This does not solve the problem. And running HP Support Assistant either. I got one solution: that's a 64-bit system. It is a 32-bit system.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60: Do not connect computer user

    cannot get into my laptop.

Turn on computer and upcoming stops: the user profile service has not the log on.

    User profile cannot be loaded.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

    Hi @doublesix66 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your Compaq Presario CQ60-210US laptop and receiving a message from the user profile service failed the log on. Here is a fix for it from Microsoft. It seems that the profile you are trying to connect to a file corrupted in it.

You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop. This helps others correct this error message.

When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

I can press the esc key when Startup logo is in place and a lot of options appears, but I don't know what to do. Thanks in advance. Greig.

    Hello

If you do not, use another PC to create a Windows 7 recovery CD.  Download the ISO from the link below.

    Windows 7 32 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

Start your laptop from the rescue CD, you have created, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

    Kind regards

  • Compaq Presario CQ57-339WM: Compaq Presario CQ57-339WM randomly fails to start

I had a very strange problem with my Compaq Presario CQ57-339WM laptop. My laptop suddenly, carefully and randomly last night, didn't start the operating system. It's all the way to the start screen, but who could not pass.

Safe mode wouldn't work, nor any attempt to use System Repair, so I was forced to use the Recovery Manager to reload the operating system.

Given that what happened at least three times before, I honestly don't know what is the cause. It may be a virus, because I take care of is not to infect the computer and the hard disk is reformatted every time that the OS is reloaded, and I'm sure he doesn't have to do with any other software, including the operating system. No matter who would be able to help me with this rather strange dilemma I had some?

NOTE 1: This has also happened at random intervals completely - the last time it happened was several months ago, and you the shortest time between the issues around a few days.

NOTE 2: This computer has had its fair share of abuse - he struck from time to time and is quite old at this point.

SYSTEM card (in which case it might be useful):

CPU: Intel Celeron 1.50 GHz B800

RAM: 4.00 Go DDR3-1600 (upgrade; also the problems until I installed RAM)

: HARD disk SATA 5400 RPM 320 GB (?) (not upgraded)

BIOS: update to the latest version (F.39, if I'm not mistaken; questions had also arisen before that the BIOS has been updated)

Have implemented so many devices (monitor, mouse, printer, speakers)

Defective HARD drive probably just, who is giving up

  • Compaq presario v6000 v6409tu disk hard bios self-test fail

    Hello

Windows xp no my pc compaq v6000 not starting and bluescreen showed a couple of times. I ran the BIOS (phoenix) disk hard diagnosis and the test failed. When I opened my HDD I noticed green rust as deposits into the connector on the hard drive. After cleaning with a brush, computer loaded XP successfully. But an hour later, while I was surfing in mozilla suddenly the mouse pointer started late and showed computer blue screen saying that windows has been closed down to prevent damage.

I would be grateful if someone can tell me if it's a software problem or hard drive error. If I need to replace my hard drive, what are my options, for example. rpm, capacity, provider? Thank you.

The only way you could have rusted copper into the connector on the hard drive is if liquid got in there so I am reluctant to try to speculate how much damage has been done. I remove the hard drive and connect it to the outside to another computer and run chkdsk on it to see if the drive itself is bad. As long as there is a problem on the part of connector and the interface with the motherboard cannot really trust the onboard hard drive Diagnostics. You could also get an own another new hard drive adapter.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/new-Compaq-Presario-C700-F500-F700-V6000-SATA-laptop-hard-drive-connector-/161297513053?PT=US_Drive_Bay_Caddies & Hash = item258e14ba5d

If it does not turn on the hard drive is bad, you can replace it with any laptop SATA drive no more than 9.5 mm thick.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822145587

Above is a good thing. It is slim (7mm) but it will still go into the caddy and connect to the motherboard with the connecting piece. If the hard drive itself is always good, and you replace the connector piece but he always bluescreens, so I would not spend money on a new hard drive. I would say that there was damage to the motherboard.
