  Can't see a way to take the card out of the Slimline wireless and put it in the Presario. Internet not immediately necessary, hard connection cable always an option.

  All the other tips and advice on how to optimize my sytem are also welcome.

  Hard drives has no different connectors if they are both SATA specifications like other post indicated.

  There is no adjustment to make on hard disks of the rider SATAS. According to me, that one can think of the old school the IDE drives.

  The image below is a diagram for your motherboard. You have enough SATA ports to be used for the second and even a third hard drive.

  Press the power button and then press the F10 key to access the BIOS. Run the hard drive Diagnostics. What I saw in my investigation shows it's a 160 GB SATA hard drive.

  There are a few ways that you can use to solve the problem.  You can try the online scanner of ESET.com to remove the offending code or you can try Malwarebytes. MalwareBytes is recommended by some members of the forum, and there is a free version. The ESET online scanner is also free. I prefer the ESET online scanner.

  The simpler but more radical solution would be to make a recovery to factory state using the HP Recovery Manager. You should be able to access the market with the F11 key recovery manager. If this isn't the case, you can use your set of recovery disks. The downside of the HP recovery solution is that you will lose all data and programs you have on your laptop. advantage is that everything works again once you have installed the drivers.

  Inherited this machine recently and I was wondering if I can upgrade the hard drive.  He got a Hitachi DK23BA-15 which is ATA - 66.  But I read that the chipset of the motherboard will be ' interface with ATA/66 hard drives in UDMA 2 mode "-a description of the site intel (North 82443BX/South 82371EB).  Intel® 440BX AGPset.

  It's a record of 4200 RPM 15 gigabytes. You can use any portable player of up to 120 gig eide, but not anymore. Anyway, you would benefit from a rotational speed of 5400 RPM which is what you can find in the market these days, but will not improve your ATA - 66 maximum transfer speed.   Use it as it is. Why update the drive? If you run lack of storage space on the disk, delete some files or get an external drive and move some files on the external drive. Make sure that you back up your data.
