Compaq presario v3015nr: cannot start, unknown bios password

Hello

Can someone help me with a laptop I dream of my grandfather who left us. I tried every password I can think that it can be used and so far nothing. I seems to be a bios password as it happens immediately with a message "Enter password" and even does not load Windows. After I try you times it comes up with a message "system disabled [13449] and I have no choice but to close it and try again." Can someone help me go beyond that or tell me how to reset the bios?

Thank you in advance.

  • Compaq Presario SR5130NX: Cannot start Windows Vista after failure - HELP!

Hello! My building has undergone a complete failure so 4 days ago I used it. Power resumed 3 hours later, but I was not able to log on since.

Normally, I turn on my PC, and about 30 seconds later, a window pops up asking you my password. After entering it, the PC come by my office. Now, when I turn on the PC, it brings me to a blue screen with a mouse cursor in the Center (which I can move), but there is nothing to click on.

When I press F8 during the boot process and choose an option from the window "Advanced Boot Options", I still can't start my computer normally.

Here's the "Advanced Boot Options" I tried, after consultation with my brother a little more PC-savvy:

1 repair your computer - after I see my black screen that is usual with the words "Microsoft Corporation" under the green bars that scroll from left to right for about 15 seconds, a blue screen appears with the mouse pointer in the Center (which I can move), but there is nothing to click on.

2 mode safe - while the PC display several files on start up and down, it stops on "Loaded: \windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys" for about 20 seconds, then proceeds to a black screen with the words "Safe Mode" in the 4 corners and the mouse cursor at the Center (which I can move), but there is nothing to click on.

3 safe mode with network - see "Safe Mode" above.

4 safe mode with command prompt - see 'Safe Mode' above.

5 last known good Configuration (Advanced) - see "repair your computer" above.

6 start Windows normally - see "Repair your computer" above.

7 debug mode - see "Repair your computer" above.

I downloaded a DVD recovery based on Linux in knopper.net, allowing me to access important files, which I copied from the desktop to an external hard drive (4.1 GB iso file).

PC Windows XP of my brother has a recovery disk, but my Windows Vista PC did not come with one. I've seen a few paid versions, but looked resources due to cool weather and free shipping.

I can't tell if I have the 23-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows Vista, so I downloaded both versions of an open source sourceforge.NET startup repair, which I burned on 2 DVDs. After you run the startup repair program using two DVD, the diagnostic results have been uploaded online at ubuntu.com for review and technical analysis. Here are the links:

The last report ended with the words "start managed to fix...".  You can now restart your computer. "But I always encounter a blank screen (black or blue) when I try to log on to my PC.

    Hello

Since you already have KNOPPIX I try Gparted and use it to 'clean up' the score because it will stop in an impure State.

    NTFS

    [1][11]NTFS-3 g / important

    GParted will try.

Also, I would consider the old problem with fat systems, floppy disks etc. which sometimes a copy of sys files from a floppy disk to a hard drive has reactivated a bootable system.

So, if system files have been damaged, then replace them since a Setup disk.  Because he goes to options, what kind of work.

    Thank you

It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

If you need help with selection and replace of the disk station hard back with model number & full product as indicated on the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop.

  • Compaq presario v6000 v6409tu disk hard bios self-test fail

    Hello

Windows xp no my pc compaq v6000 not starting and bluescreen showed a couple of times. I ran the BIOS (phoenix) disk hard diagnosis and the test failed. When I opened my HDD I noticed green rust as deposits into the connector on the hard drive. After cleaning with a brush, computer loaded XP successfully. But an hour later, while I was surfing in mozilla suddenly the mouse pointer started late and showed computer blue screen saying that windows has been closed down to prevent damage.

I would be grateful if someone can tell me if it's a software problem or hard drive error. If I need to replace my hard drive, what are my options, for example. rpm, capacity, provider? Thank you.

The only way you could have rusted copper into the connector on the hard drive is if liquid got in there so I am reluctant to try to speculate how much damage has been done. I remove the hard drive and connect it to the outside to another computer and run chkdsk on it to see if the drive itself is bad. As long as there is a problem on the part of connector and the interface with the motherboard cannot really trust the onboard hard drive Diagnostics. You could also get an own another new hard drive adapter.

If it does not turn on the hard drive is bad, you can replace it with any laptop SATA drive no more than 9.5 mm thick.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822145587

Above is a good thing. It is slim (7mm) but it will still go into the caddy and connect to the motherboard with the connecting piece. If the hard drive itself is always good, and you replace the connector piece but he always bluescreens, so I would not spend money on a new hard drive. I would say that there was damage to the motherboard.

  • I'm working on a HP Compaq dc7600 compact computer with a BIOS password

I'm working on a consumer HP CS 1900 post that contains computers HP Compaq dc7600 small form. On a computer, the battery holding the BIOS is released and the date and time must be reset in the BIOS. The configuration of the BIOS is password protected and I don't have any idea what is the password. I tried to go beyond it with a password BIOS HP chip resetter, but when I'm in the configuration it still doesn't let me change the date and time. Should I just reflash the BIOS? I bet that even after it is flashed there is going to be password protected. I left the battery for a few days and changed the rider of neighboing etc., but it is still protected. Is their a manual/doc/pdf that could respond to explain/identify the BIOS password?

    Hello:

I don't know if it's me or the HP support site, but I can't seem to him.

That's what you need to do to clear the BIOS password on a dc7600...

    1. turn off and unplug the PC. Unplug everything plugged to the computer. Keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer,... everything.

    2. press the power button to drain any residual power from the PC.

3 open the case and locate the Green password on the motherboard jumper.  On the WTO, it is very close to the primary SATA HARD drive data connector.

There is also a green light about, but of course that will be turned off for you.

    4. in any case, locate this jumper and remove it and place it somewhere for more security. Some people just put on one of the 2 pins. I prefer to remove it.

    5. now connect the cables. etc and start the PC. The password must now be provisioned.

    6. switch off the PC and replace the Green jumper on the two pins and everything back together.

    Fixed.

  • Portege R700 protected by unknown BIOS password

Can anyone help with this problem.

On our site, we have about 300 of these laptops, and they're all protected bios.
Recently had a problem where when to enter the password of the bios and it says its bad even if it's the standard password that we use on our laptops. The user has also confirmed that they do not have a password...

Is it possible for the bios somehow become currupted (the machine was undergoing before blue screens) or how can I factory reset the bios password.

Before that everyone says Yes, we own the machince and can prove it!

Maybe it sounds silly, but I think you should clarify this with the nearest Toshiba service provider.
I use Toshiba laptops for years, and I know with certainty that Toshiba doesn't sell laptops equipped with any type of password or that kind of protection.

If you have such amount of notebooks, maybe there is some special dial on the configuration or protection. In any case, deletion of BIOS password cannot be theme on this public forum. The BIOS password protection is very important security feature and if there is a problem, it needs to be clarified with the Toshiba authorized service provider.

BIOS password cannot be set or changed only, and as far as I know, there is no kind of factory reset. All I know is that the BIOS can be set to the default settings. All that s.
Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and clarify this issue.

  • Compaq Presario SR1214NX desktop PC: update BIOS for SATA HDD?

    Hi CV Experts.

In 2004, I bought a HP Compaq Presario SR1214NX desktop PC. Now, leave the original hard drive and I bought a new Seagate 500 GB SATA hard drive. I thought that this would work because the PC MoBo has two SATA connectors. After installation, I noticed the drive is not detected. I checked the BIOS but not hard listed. The installed BIOS is "BIOS Award BIOS Core Version 6.0 revision 3.10 26/07/2004.» What can I do? Is there a BIOS update available?

    Help, please!

Do more research on this issue, I think that this motherboard may not have native support SATA. You can use ports SATA via Windows after you have installed the necessary drivers. I suggest that you add a primary as hard drive IDE PATA drive and load Windows. Post windows installation, install the necessary SATA drivers and plug the secondary drive SATA for use as a hard disk.

I'm sorry for all of the early confused communications.
