  It seems that the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more.   Windows xp no my pc compaq v6000 not starting and bluescreen showed a couple of times. I ran the BIOS (phoenix) disk hard diagnosis and the test failed.   I understand you are trying to upgrade your system to Windows 7.  You tried to boot from a USB, but after several attempts you have created a DVD with Windows 7.

  You have tried to boot from the DVD but even once is not successful.

  You have checked the boot order and it is set to 1. USB 2. Hard drive.

  I don't know if it's me or the HP support site, but I can't seem to him.

  That's what you need to do to clear the BIOS password on a dc7600...
