Compaq Presario V6120US: Wireless network CARD not FIGURENT DO NOT IN the DEVICES MANAGER

I have a compaq presario v6120us I can't get WiFi to work on. I tried to switch off wi - fi on and outside, I was going to try to go into the bios and put it on there, but there is no control for wi - fi in bios. When I try to find it in Device Manager, I see not listed. But I know there's a wi - fi connection because there the card inside, more there's a switch on to activate the wi fi. I consider me be advanced when it comes to computer repair, but I'm running out of ideas, and I would be very happy for any help, thoughts, or ideas as to what this might be.

Thank you very sincerely,.

Dennis

Hi, Dennis:

The motherboard in your model had issues due to run hot.

One of the victims is that the power of the slot that plugs into the wireless card is lost.

That's why the wireless card dropped out of sight.

It probably is about your present dilemma.

That's happened a lot with the dv6000/dv9000 motherboards that used the same chipset nvidia and AMD processor has your laptop.

    Hi Tim,.

So if the WLAN card is not listed in Device Manager, what happens if you start installing the driver? You can download the WLAN driver from Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But you have to look in * Archives * because he former model laptop s but you will be Agere WLAN driver 1.11.108 for XP. In addition, download & install Wireless LAN Activator to activate the wireless network card.

    Hello

Sounds like hardware and you cannot resolve hardware with the software. Check with the system
Manufacturer of support, their books online, the diagnosis and ask in their forums (if
There are). Or check with a real computer store (one who does on its own in-store service
This brand and model of laptop).

Remember that you can not resolve hardware with the software.

    Troubleshooting you can try:

  • Network controller not recognized by Device Manager

Device Manager cannot recognize my Dell Inspiron 15 network controller. It is marked as an unknown device.

Can someone please direct me as to where I could download the driver network controller, if indeed that is what is needed for the Device Manager to recognize the network controller.

My Dell is unable to locate any available internet connection and I think it has to do with the network being not recognized controller

    Thanks in advance.

  • Game 360 wireless receiver does not appear in Device Manager.

    Hello

I recently bought a 360 game wireless receiver for my laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)) (w / two usb 3.0 ports)
The receiver came with an installation disk that redirect me to a download of updated driver where I downloaded the Windows 7 drivers (64-bit). After installing syncing controllers unsuccessfully. The receiver flashes green when I press the button and the controller detects the signal when I press the button, but she never settled in a quadrant to the light upward.
I searched the internet and this site where people asked similar questions. "Most have solved their problem by following a step by step process that is to locate a "unidentified device" or a" ""controller common microsoft ' in the Device Manager. I think not or the other device, a manager.

It's my problem, I would be able to resolve the issue had the device in Device Manager, but this isn't the case.

If anyone could offer any help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

This thread has been created in forum Windows 7 games; the moderation of Microsoft team has moved this thread to the Windows 7 Hardware and drivers Forum.

You try to use another USB port to see if it works or not, or on another computer to check if the receiver is actually working properly.

  • Satellite X 200-driver of wireless network card not moved

From one day to the other, my network card simply stopped working. I pulled to the top of my 200-20 t X and Vista told me that he had found the Intel AGN4965 unit that had to be installed. I agreed to let Vista search for the best drivers, but after a few seconds I said that there is a problem, Vista cannot find the files needed and cancels the installation of the card. I then downloaded the latest driver for the AGN4965 of Toshibas site map, install this and restart the computer hoping that find the new driver Vista wil... But without success.

I then remove the whole device in Device Manager and then install the new drivers, but always, Vista tells me that it can't ind files needed...
Any suggestions on what to do before you do a reinstall full?

    Hello!

Try to use the drivers from Intel. Maybe they work.
You install the driver with the setup.exe program? Try to install the manual drivers with driver update.

Also make sure you have all Service Packs and fixes for Windows installed.

Last but not least check from Toshiba Web site for an update of the BIOS.

    Good bye

  • Having to reset wireless network card all a few minutes after the release of Windows 7

I have an Acer Aspire and have successfully used to connect to the Internet for a few months.  After the automatic updates of Windows 7 on 14/07/2011, I have to reset the wireless network adapter every few minutes.  My computer is essentially useless for the internet connection.

There is no problem with the wireless router as I can connect to the Internet successfully for long periods of time with my HP computer.  I've used both computers simultaneously over the network without any problems.

When Internet Explorer "blockages" and I opened the network and sharing Center, it says that my computer is connected to my home network but there is "No Internet access."

In the system tray, if I right click on the wireless network icon and select problems, he comes back with:

    • Reset your wireless network adapter
    • The connection between your modem cable, router or point of access and the Internet
    • Problem with access point or wireless adapter

    So far, I have

    • uninstall the Windows updates and rebooted my computer
    • Adapter wireless uninstalled & reinstalled my
    • made sure the drivers for the wireless network are up-to-date.
    • made sure the Internet Protocol Version 4 and 6 are configured to obtain the IP address and the address of DNS server automatically
    • back to zero/renew the IP address manually
    • with Windows Firewall disabled (unable to connect then I have reactivated firewall island

Apart from restoring a backup, I'm ideas.  Help!

I ended up having to do a hard reset on my router.  It seems to have cleared up the problem.

  • Compaq Presario CQ5320F desktop PC will not read the recovery disc 1

I ordered HP discs and received 3 disks by mail. I just got my new hard drive (the former was way past disappeared. I don't know how he held for so long) and replaced the HARD drive. I booted up and received a black screen asking me "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot selected ins media device to start and press a key" so I put in disc 1. I had a screen 'windows loading files', then a blue screen with a pattern on it, ray

The Recovery Manager started, I said I wanted to factory reset and click Next, and then he asked if I wated to restore the system to factory settings and I hit Yes and then click Next. Then it tells me to insert the disc 1 (which is already underway) and they tray pops out, so I push the mouse and the back Gets the small CD icon next to him and I hear things from disc tray. The message goes away and then the tray opens again a second later and tells me to put in disk 1... >_

I tried the disk 2 and 3, perhaps thinking that they have the project. I have NO idea why it does not work. I even went into the Setup menu and it is certainly set to boot from the hard drive...

Tips, tricks, advice, advice? The computer was given to me at the time so there is no HP support more and I can not find anything by Google.

    Bumping.

I put in the old HDD to test the DVD/CD player and it works very well for CDs and DVDs. Not sure that it would have a flaw JUST in the ability to run the boot disks as there has never been anything to take for her (although, nothing is impossible).

Anyone know why I get several requests to put in disk 1? Especially when I put in disc 1 for recovery anyway menu (so obviously that it works)?
