Compatibility between Inspiron 15R N5010 (5010-7015) and black WD ^ 2 (WD1001X06XDTL) double disc 2.5 "

Hello

I own a Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 (5010-7015) / i5 / 4 GB RAM / 320 HARD drive and I am interested in the internal hard drive of the upgrade of the series dual drive WD (Black ^ 2 - WD1001X06XDTL).

The system supports SATA2 and a variety of capabilities between 160 GB and 640 GB only for 320 GB and 500 GB at 7200 RPM and 5400 RPM / min according to the manual.

Is it possible that I could upgrade to a WD Black2, or I will face compatibility problems?

The specific model (N5010) supports this technology? The list only I could find was this one: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11024/~/wd-black%C2%B2-dual-drive-computer-compatibility-list

If not, are there any other alternatives for a hard drive upgrade [i.e. Seagate 1 TB computer laptop SSHD (STBD1000400)] which would have full compatibility?

As you can see I'm looking for something more closely a SSD, but not an SSD.

The black2 is essentially a 120G SSD for the system - which IS supported by your model.  The hard drive is not even considered by the hardware of the system - it is managed by a pilot who is in charge (that's why the Black2 depends on the OS).  Windows accesses the HDD while software - NOT directly by the system.

Attention to anyone reading this thread:

Make sure you know the name of your template before you install a driver!

The topic of this thread is "Dell inspiron 15R n5010 no sound, Windows 10. The problem is that there is no model with this exact name. There is an Inspiron N5010 from 15and an Inspiron 15R N5110.

They are different models and different drivers. In other words, the audio driver for the N5010 is not intended for the N5110 and vice versa.

If you have an Inspiron 15R N5110, use the IDT 6.10.0.6421 audio driver. It is intended for Windows 8. He could install without problems in Win10, but if there is a problem, install it using compatibility mode (instructions below).

    1. download and save the audio driver on your computer or to any location on the hard drive...
    2. double-click on the new folder to extract (unzip) the files of the driver.
    3. the wizard of the extractor will create a new folder for the driver files. It will be located at the "c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx". Note the exact location that the wizard creates.
    4. If the driver begins to install automatically, stop (cancel) installation.

  • The old Inspiron 15r N5010 processor upgrade

    Hello

    I have a Dell Inspiron 15r with the processor - Intel (r) Pentium (r) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz and 4 GB of RAM.

I intend to update the RAM and replace the processor if possible. Is there a maximum amount of RAM that can be improved on? And is there a list anywhere of the compatible processors?

I checked on line and know that if its an i-processor, then there must be a first gen one. Must be an individual or one of the i3 - i7 will be?

    Thank you

The system will have up to 8 G of RAM SODIMM 2X4G.

The system uses a first generation processor and come with up to i7 CPU - keep to the 45W or lower PDT UC (not 55W units) and the Core processors first generation and the upgrade should work.

    Hello:

I did my upgrade to win 10 on my Dell inspiron 5010 a month ago, it worked perfectly, no problems not mentioned at all, the Win 10 story is what it the correct yourself. I was struggling after installation and thought I did a big mistake to upgrade, but all you need to do is keep pluged for internet connection and it does everything for drivers. I was surprised after all.

Finally, I read somewhere that Microsoft will force everyone to move to Win 10 very soon. This will not be an option more.

All of a sudden the screen went white. I tried to turn on, but nothing worked. I checked if battery was set and there was no charge. The light of the adapter near the connector was not lighting. I've introduced no-load. I removed the card from the laptop and tried to switch the adapter. Blue lights came near the connector. When I connect the adapter on the laptop, the blue flickers of light for a minute and turns off. and the Start button / stop is not swtiching on, please help.

    Thank you

    Rosh

Unplug the system, remove or disconnect the battery and hold the power for 30 seconds.  Remove and then reinstall the memory modules.  Try turn on AC only - if she will, but will not be with the battery connected, the battery is defective and must be replaced.

    Otherwise:

While it could be a bad taken of DC (the port where the adapter connects to the system), noise from the description, it is more likely the motherboard failed.

We will need the complete model number (i.e., XPS L521x) to recommend the spare parts.

But what about the feature updates that are mentioned as an advantage of cloud products. How they affect the file format. It does not depend on whether or not I use a feature of some? These updates will be only to provide features that do not change the file format? For example: if I have version 6.0 non-cloud InDesign on one computer and 6. ? Hi Mosaicpress,

Files saved from creative Cloud of products versions are compatible with "framed" copies of the same program. Creative specific characteristic cloud updates will not affect the file format.

  • "Stop 0x000000A5 the BIOS of the system is not fully ACPI-compatible every time as the installation of a new windows 7 integral over Inspiron 15R N5110.

    Hello

I have installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on many brands of laptops, but when I installed it on Inspiron 15R N5110, (core i5 and 4GBRAM). I faced an error at startup of windows 7 after completing the installation.
NOTE: When the installation finished and restarted my computer, this window shown to me.

Two options from the two options above I chose, I found myself with the blue screen:

Error blue screen said something these ' BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI-compatible. Contact your system provider for an updated BIOS I don't know what that means and I don't know where is the culprit. I wish I could capture this error screen. However, it is impossible to do because I wasn't the Windows environment.

Even if the error related to BIOS necessary for the update, so how could I update as long as windows has not begun.

Is there something that needs to be configured in the BIOS before installing Windows 7 on Dell laptops.
I'm quite surprised that the previous system was windows 7, but it was Home Premium.

The strangest thing is when I tried to start to repair the disk and even disk instillation of Windows to resolve startup problems, I found that this startup repair couldn't fix problems.

When I tried to do these steps:

    1. Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD.

Note Some computers may require you change basic input/output system (BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For more information about changing the BIOS, see your computer documentation.
    2. When the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
    3. If your computer is configured to dual-boot or multiple boot, select the appropriate installation of Windows XP.
    4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password and press ENTER.
Note By default, the administrator password is blank in Windows XP Home Edition.
    5. By default, Hiberfil.sys is usually located in the directory root (C:\). At the command prompt, type del hiberfil.sys and then press ENTER.
    6. Restart the computer.
When I arrived at "system recovery options, I saw that my system is listed, then I chose then, but I found myself with this ' this"system recovery options"version is not compatible with the version of windows that you are trying to fix." Try to use a different compatible with this version of windows recovery disk, even if I'm sure only that the same disk to install windows I have installed since.

NOTE: I do not add RAM or other devices. There is a windows 7 Home premium and I just re installed a windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I don't really know what the previous windows version 7 is 32 or 64 bit.
I checked the dell forum and I found ' your computer goto your BIOS F2

That goto advance Select ATA to instead of AHCPI save the setting, and then try to restart your Windows 7

    hope it will work. »

But he did not AHCPI, but I found AHCI and let ATA instead of AHCI, but no difference that happened.

    Hello

Check the steps suggested by LoneWolf1983 from the link below and see if it helps.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-hardware/stop-BIOS-not-fully-ACPI-compliant/25210db0-5491-4fc8-99c2-ec0361dd8388

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

    Thank you very much

I checked this thread, and I found this solves the problem

I have changed the serial port in the BIOS for 2F8/IRQ3 and I have not had a blue screen since... fingers crossed, it's her!

But as you know that no matter what BIOS are different from others.

Thus, I have not found any serial port in the BIOS to be replaced by 2F8/IRQ3

NOTE: My problem is when you install a new version of Windows.

In addition, every time a new windows installation 7 and facing the Blue error screen, I started to Macrium Rescue CD and clicked "fix windows startup", and then when restart my windows, I was not facing the the Blue error screen. If windows starts successfully.

If the blue screen error was tied to the BIOS, the Refelct Macrium rescue CD wouldn't no matter what (not know this problem)

Should I update the BIOS to A11 (a final)?

You can update the bios of the computer. You can consider the formatting and installing Windows 7 on the system. Do a new Installation of Windows will more than likely fix the problem.

  • Dell Inspiron 15r white noise 5537 - helmet

    Hello

A week ago I bought an Inspiron 15r 5537 brand new, and I just for the first time used with the laptop headphone. However, whenever I tried to use the headset with the mobile there is a significant amount of white noise emitted by the helmet (in a volume which is sufficient to divert the attention of audio playback).

White noise starts when the audio is released and continues even when the audio is paused (or ends), but cut abruptly from 5 to 10 seconds after the end of the audio...

Laptops have the speakers don't emit white noise: when my headphones are plugged in fact that the problem occurs.

    Any help would be appreciated?

    See you soon,.

    Scott.

P.S., Computers are not particularly my area of expertise, so no simple statement would be ideal for my brain to benet...

Scott, it seems to be a problem with this model. Here is the main thread where the owners have discussed the issue for 6 months without any resolution. Some say that you use the Windows driver audio native gets rid of the noise, but others say that it does not help. If you want to install the native driver, this is one of the ways to do this:

    1. open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER) and then right-click on "Realtek High Definition Audio" in the sound... Category of controllers.

2 Select this option to "Update driver software". [This screen shot is of a different model that IDT audio - yours will be "Realtek High Definition Audio".]

    3. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".

    4. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".

    5. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.

    6. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio'.

    7. click on "next".

    8. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).

9 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.

    10. to reinstall the Realtek driver, repeat the process but select the Realtek driver to step 6.

Note that even if you use the native driver eliminates the noise, he may not be a satisfactory solution because it is a generic driver that lacks some of the features of the pilot of the provider.

Don't forget that there is a short return period during which you can return your defective laptop. After the expiry of this period, your remaining option is to obtain the warranty service, but a solution could not be achieved.

  • Installation of card mSATA on Inspiron 15R special edition (7520)

    Hey

I have the inspiron 15r is with 1 TB of HDD.

I would like to add an mSATA card to my system to use the TSRI.

    It is possible now?

I am skeptical because I've read online that the systems which were not delivered with 32 GB mSATA card, does not port mSATA for later installation.

When I bought the system at that time dell had the option to add card 32 GB mSATA in the customization section, but now, dell has removed the section full customization from the Web site. And in the pre-configured templates, there is no option for card mSATA.

Please remove this doubt and if possible to post pictures of the system and the daughter card where mSATA card can be installed.

If you need more details about the configuration of my system, feel free to ask.

    Thanks in advance

    Hey everybody!

All those who are willing to buy Dell Inspiron 15R edition special (7520) and want to update the system with card mSATA manually after the purchase, should know that there are two different configurations with which the system is sold. While on one of these configuration it is a mSATA port available on the (number N7JHH) daughter card in the system. While on the other configuration no mSATA port is available on the daughtercard (number MRDMM) present in the system.

Most of the Dell representatives have no information on this subject and they are declaring openly that mSATA cards are compatible with 7520. Don't go by their words and ask specifically if the above mentioned daughter card is present in the system or not. Only a very few of them are stating "If the system was not ordered with card mSATA probably your card mother daughter won't mSATA slot", that too after days of investigation.

If you hope to upgrade the system with card mSATA, then my advice to you would be to take a prudent decision before buying.

    See you soon!
