Compatibility DAQmx and NOT USB-8451

NEITHER USB-8451 is compatible with NOR-DAQmx?

The USB-8451 housing does not NOR-DAQmx; It uses a separate driver and API (OR-845 x; ( the latest version is 2.0).

It is compatible in the sense that you might have OR-DAQmx and NOR-845 x installed at the same time, because they are two independent pieces of software. It is not compatible in the sense that you cannot use the USB-8451 with the API OR-DAQmx case.

I use a usb-8451 attached to a PCB card which has its own means with separate analog and digital designs. When I join the 8451 grounded strange results of power supply occur. Is it allowed to leave separate and unconnected?

Devices USB usually get their power supply (+ 5V and GND) of the device, they are connected. There is no need of additional connections to GND. These additional connections can lead to "mass loops" that can pick up noise and cause errors. -The 'front end' of a device properly designed USB is isolated from the power supply. If you connect anything to the input of the USB device, use the GND or NOT the entrance terminal, of reference and NEVER the Terminal GND of the Board that powers the USB device.

  • USB-8451 does not appear in the menu of the DAQ assistant

    Hello

I use a USB-8451 with LabVIEW 8.6 device. I installed the 1.1.4 pilots of this device and windows and MAX detect. I also renamed the alias and the status of the device is "this device works correctly.

The problem comes when I try to add a block DAQ Assistant to my project. I select the entry type, I want to have (digital line, although I've tried them all) and LabVIEW doesn't detect any device.

I tried to make a diagnosis with Panel Test VISA. Here, I assume that something is wrong, because when I run a viRead I get status of return 'BFFF0015h' in red letters... but I don't really know what that means. The LED on the device is green and flashes.

    Thank you in advance.

It is not supposed to appear in the DAQ Assistant (and certainly won't NI-VISA) or if you have not read the Manual?

  • Device USB-8451 reference and attached device

I have 2 test systems PC using NI USB-8451 I2C communication.

A reference device... 33 b... and the other a... 33D..., so I can't use the default fixed values.

Also, I may need to run an exe have respected for others to use.

    Questions:

    1. it is not VISA. No VISA opening or closing.

    2. nothing in the compare pallete validates this reference of the device.

    3. no USB device attached validation (Are You There).

    Up to now

    1. a successful simple i/o operation can check "Are You There". I chose Dig I/O read a bit.

    2. #1 above also validates the reference of the device.

Is there a smoother, faster way to do this? Windows operating system does not record stuff USB etc... ?

  • Visioneer OneTouch 8700 USB Scanner Driver for Windows XP SP1 installed SP 2 compatibility mode - does not

My machine is upgraded from XP SP2 to Windows 7. Support was interrupted by the manufacturer scanner after the pilot XP SP1.   Update of Windows in my system is always sur-installe updates automatically.   The scanner driver has been downloaded from the MFRS. ' site and installed in my computer Windows 7 in "compatibility mode for XP SP2. The scanner icon in my system tray.   To make a physical connection to my system, I get error that it can not be connected or cannot be configured.   I have two USB ports of work attached to the Mo (Chinese-"Weibu") and two USB PCI card is compatible with XP and earlier versions (as shown on the box, no mention of Windows 7).   I tried all these ports, always the scanner does not connect to my system.   In addition, my device manager under USB controllers, shows the exclamation marks in yellow triangles against two elements of the same name: "VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller.   I uninstalled these 2 elements and restarted my system several times, without success.   At each reboot, the yellow marks disappear but soon reappear.  But the scanner worked perfectly fine in my old XP SP 2 system before moving on to Windows 7 and before installing the USB PCI card.

Is there a solution to this problem up the old USB devices and running in the Windows 7 environment?   (I have a very old IBM PC Camera too that works well in my old XP system, but not yet tried in the current system, even if the driver has been installed).

If finally I am not able to use the scanner under Windows 7, I reluctantly get Windows XP reinstalled on another drive and boot into it just to be able to use the scanner which is functioning perfectly.

I am a person of 78 years and enjoy using and experimenting with my PC, which has become an addiction for me.

    Thank you.

You can buy a copy of XP that would probably cost more to replace the scanner and now is not the right time to install XP anyway.

Your webcam is a lost cause. Compatibility mode has been designed to work for older programs, and Microsoft does not recommend to use it to install the device drivers. I have no idea why some here suggest a possibility...

  • GPIB-USB-HS and USB-8451 communication issues - appearing only in VISA

    Hello

I recently started a new job and have had communication problems between my adapter GPIB-USB-HS, my VISA or MAX-Labview and USB-8451 I2C/SPI interface.  I installed LabView to 32 bits, OR-488. 2, the driver for the 8451 on my windows desktop and VISA 16.0 7.

In the windows Device Manager, the 8451 appears as a device USB of NI-VISA and Gbspecifications FOR-USB-HS presents itself as a GPIB Interface of NOR.  Two of these instruments are recognized NI Max so but communication Gbspecifications FOR add-in adapter (and connected instruments) fails and he can't find the instruments and the self-test fails with a hardware error unknown gpib (-37052).  The watch also neither device VISA Interactive Control.

The ready light is lit on the GPIB-USB adapter and the 8451 flashes green as if nothing is wrong at the end.  I uninstalled all the software of NOR and reinstalled, and I run MAX as an administrator.  Is there possibly some computer settings I could neglect or need to change to open a communication?  Any other ideas on why I can't communicate with devices?

  • DAqmx and IMAQ pallets do not appear in my palettes of LabVIEW 2011

    Hello

I use LabVIEW to my University via a Campus license since 2005. I installed it on several computers.

My problem is related to a new LabVIEW installation on a brand new computer.

I have the license Site LAbVIEW 2011 Academic just installed and validated (via the License Manager) in this new machine running 64-bit Windows Seven.

[I also installed the DAQmx and the "distribution of February 2011" IMAQ drivers (downloaded from OR) as well as the NI Vision Software (version for LabVIEW 2011, the same distribution as the LabVIEW 2011).]

I launched LabVIEW Ant checked to see if everything was there, specifically the DAQmx and IMAQ functions, since I have the cards OR to make the acquisition of data and images. Note that I have not yet installed these cards in the PC. I m going to do only when I would have ensured that all the software is ok.

The subpalette DAQmx in measurement of i/o functions palette is missing.

Also, if I'm looking for the NI-IMAQ subpalettes in the range of Vision and movement functions they also lack.

Notice that all other subpalettes in the range of functions of Vision and movement are OK and there appear (utility of Vision, Image Processing, Machine Vision, and Vision Express).

Then, I checked if the installed drivers are really there. For this I used the MAX or (measure explore), and it looks like it all everything is there.

I mean, under NI MAX > my system > software I can see these articles:

    NEITHER Vision TERM 2011

    NOR-IMAQ 4.5

    NOR-DAQmx... several entries

I checked if the forum or knowledge base in NOR have any clue on what to do, and I found somewhere by the idea of trying to fix the installation via the Windows 7 Control Panel > programs and resources > OR software.  I did this procedure twice, just in case...

I also tried to remove and reinstall all software (including drivers) and NO, I did it twice. The result is always the same.

    Any suggestions?

When you install the drivers, you include support for LabVIEW 2011?  If this isn't the case, you won't see the LabVIEW screw in your palettes even if the software is installed.  Normally I expect that the Setup program automatically adds this support, but he can't do it, especially if you have installed the drivers before installing LabVIEW.  See the image below:

  • DAQmx and PDM not always work

    Hello

I am new to the DAQmx and PDM vi and I'm hoping someone can help me. The attached code contains several structures of matter, but only one of them has the DAQmx and PDM vi running through them. My intention is to record the output voltage of two photo-recepteurs that I scan the current in a diode laser controller.  When I run this code that it does not always record the values while I'm scanning and when I leave the TDMS files viewer program will show me no data. Sometimes, but rarely, he will show me some data. The sequence stacked within the structure of case is code that runs the laser controller and a couple of translational mounts. The DAQmx and PDM vi who must save the data are right next to that.

    Thank you!

I have it! All I had to do was move the vi DAQmx Start Task in the Structure box.

But, I still don't know if I should have analog 1 D wave or analog DBL 2D. Who does?

  • My sm bus controller and controller USB driver not there (read for detailed explanations)

I have a laptop, it was windows 8.0 and I upgraded to 8.1, I didn't like it at all so I lowered it to win7 because it was laggy and the displayed text was fuzzy. I knew that something was wrong with the installation of windows 8 and even after a clean full format, he would not return to normal. I went and he downgraded because I had enough and know that windows 7 would be faster for this pc (which it was), I said yaay sound much smoother and faster with no problems.  Then I installed all the wifi, bluetooth drivers, mouse etc... only 2 things that I couldn't install was the bus controller SM and USB bus controller driver (USB). And my usb slots were not working other than port 3.0 I had a plugged usb of decommissioning...

I know its something to do with the bios and since the update of the bios is 8 - 8.1 windows only I don't know what to do... I have a .wim file recovery and I don't know how to use it. I also forgot to put my product key of my pc of win8 before I went down I had no knowledge of what happen and don't think it would be a problem...  Now I can't connect more than 1 thing at a time. I went on the microsoft forums and they fixed a problem (ethernet driver) and told me to come here and I hope you can fix the rest.

Thanks to adnvaced for your help

  • SM Bus controller and controller USB drivers for Pavilion P6 - 2307 has

    Hello

I am trying to find the drivers for SM Bus controller and USB controller for the Pavilion P6 - 2307. If I go to download drivers and download updates, it does not install it. I run Windows 7 64 bit and I made sure I downloaded the correct drivers.

At their launch, Windows 7 comes in asking if the run installation program correctly which means that somehow it didn't. It then asks if you want to run it in compatibility mode and if I say yes, nothing happens.

Can you get it someone please let me know where I can find the correct drivers to make it work on Windows 7 64 bit.

  • Read only the SPI using the box USB-8451

I am using the NI USB-8451 box to read the SPI of a Honeywell digital pressure transducer data.  The difficulty comes from that part of Honeywell uses only the SPI in half-duplex mode, meaning that it only transmits data, but does not require anything beyond the appropriate chip select signal and SCLK to start transmitting its 32-bit sensor data.  To facilitate experimentation with the sensor, I bought a USB-8451 SPI Interface thinking I could easily configure the 8451 to read data from the sensor.

However, if I understand the situation, there is a problem.  The 8451 considers full duplex data, i.e. a data word must first be sent to the SPI device in question before the unit will start to transmit back data of its own.  And since the MOSI data writing periods, since this particular device starts transmitting immediately once a clock is applied, synchronizing the unused address data will cause the unit will return its data before the 8451 begins listening for data in return.  The call used by the 8451 to write read action can be divided into the individual reading and actions of writing of any kind that I could discover.

Can someone tell me if I missed something in this operation or if there is some quick tips, that I could use to be able to use the 8451 therefor?  Thank you!

    Doug G.

Exactly correct. It's nice when things are easier than expected. Hope it works as easy as it sounds.

  • NEITHER USB-8451 with external power source

    Hi all!

I try to understand for 2 days now why my USB-8451 gave me a 301740 error: line SDA or SCL or both are in poor condition, or there is no pull-up resistance.

I try to change a multiplexer channel in order to obtain a measure of the temperature of a sensor. I checked my SDA and SCL lines, thye are both in top condition and I have 2 resistors to pull up with a value of 10K.

The only change with my older circuit, is I use an external power supply for my chip and a PCA9543 (texas instruments) MUX to select the sensor I need the data.

Any who have encountered similar problems?

    OK guys,

Apparently, the ground of my usb-8451 was not related to the land of my diet, it doesn't yet but my components react!
