Compatibility of the Caesar IV game with windows 7
I just bought a new (Caesar IV) game and it won't work. When I try to open the game I get this error. "This application has requested the execution in an unusual way" any help would be appreciated.
Hi MATTHEWTHACKER79,
Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community.
Caesar IV is not compatible with Windows 7. I suggest you to see the following link for more information:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win7/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?TempOsid=win7&Locale=en-us&TextSearch=Caesar%2BIV&Type=Both&CurrentPage=0&TotalPages=1&ShowCriteria=0&SortCriteria=Relevance&Compatibility=Unknown&LastRequested=14
If you want to install the game, try to check it in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Where is the location of games for Windows Live Marketplace Temp?
Hi guys,.
I'm having if bad weather try to install Games for Windows live. I downloaded the http://www.xbox.com/en-ZA/Live/PC/DownloadClient Installer and ran it on my computer Windows 8. The downloader has downloaded the files required to install GFWL, but for some reason some got to the point where it said 22.3 MB to 30 MB download and then immediately jumped and said GFWL is now installed.
When I try to open GFWL, it is ALWAYS asking for me to install Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant. I downloaded that and tried to install several times, but without success!
- I tried to install with Windows 7 compatibility. -NO Succeess
- I tried to install as administrator (right click Run as administrator) - WITHOUT success.
- Every time when I open the installer, he don't ask me to redownload the Setup, which makes me believe that he jumps right to the installer downloaded previously, which the Setup file stored somewhere!
- I uninstalled and reinstalled SEVERAL times and did a reset later.
I have reason to believe that this file is corrupt because it did not download the full 30 MB as indicated by the program. So my main question is, how do I delete temporary files, where the hell it might be, so that I can re - run the installation program and do the installation of games for Windows Live Marketplace program redownload the files from scratch.
Thanks in advance!
MHi Morne,
Temporary files are stored and used in the TEMP folders and TMP/system or the user temporarily a task is performed.
Well, if you want to delete the temporary files, then try the following steps:
a. press the Windows key + R on the keyboard. Type folder in the Run dialog box and press ENTER.
b. press on Ctrl + A to select all temporary files and press SHIFT + DELETE to remove the temporary files.
Once you have finished the temp deleting files that you can download and check the status of the issue.
Poster with the exit status.

Original title: am running Vista x 32
Do I need a firewall if I have installed the basics of microsoft with windows vista x 32 Security. If I do how can I download the microsoft firewall?
Your quick response would be appreciatedEdwardiniWindows Firewall is delivered with and is part of the Vista operating system.
You already have it and, therefore, you do not need, or you, can download another Windows Firewall.Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) will close your Windows Defender because MSE has its own advocate and performance 2 defenders in the same machine allows to create conflict, not to mention redundant.

Are the standard gadgets included with Windows 7 safe?
Microsoft no longer supports the gadget gallery, and warns that the gadgets can infect your system. But the standard gadgets included with software pre-installed Windows 7 oem safe?
Hi jammajdad,
Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft community!
I understand that you want to know the standard gadgets included in Windows 7 are safe. I will try to help you with this.
Some of the gadgets that come with Windows 7 are calendar, clock, weather, flow of titles, slide show and teasing. These are very safe, because it comes preinstalled with the operating system.

Does the m - 105 palm with Windows 7 64-bit work?
What are the hardware/software compatible with Windows 7 64 bit? Try to reinstall the palm for the new cfomputer, but not sure this is possible. No COM port, etc.
Thank you!
Just FYI... in the years of the computer, three years is considered a lifetime. 12 years... is pretty much history. :-) But Kudos to you for those taking good care of your technology!

Age of Empires 2 cannot host the game with Windows 7, Server networking DirectPlay
I recently installed Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion on Windows 7 Ultimate RC1 at home.
This game does not work on Windows 7 with some work. First color is screwed up because it runs using 256 colors. Killing the task of 'explorer' in the Task Manager, while the game is running fixed that.
My new problem is that I can't host a game in network on Windows 7. I've done some packet sniffing and I think it has to do with Directplay Server does not properly.
According to Wikipedia
- In Windows Vista , DirectPlay has been deprecated and DirectPlay Voice and NAT Helper of DirectPlay have been removed.
I can join Games hosted on a Windows XP with Windows 7 machine, but I'm not able to host my own games.
At work, we all use Windows 7 to play after hours is not possible because we do not have an XP machine to host the game.
How can I me Directplay specifically Directplay Server run on Windows 7?
I tried AOE2 running in Compatibility Mode for XP SP2 as it as an administrator.
Kind regards
Joey
If, after upgrading two machines Windows 7 Beta to Windows 7 Professional Retail, I managed to get the machines to see after turning off UPnP on the router. I guess AOE2 is the ad itself and the router it's treat as UPnP.

Fort to freeze during the games with Windows 7 64 bit.
I got Windows 7 64 bit on my machine, with a nvidia gtx260 graphics card, with the most recent driver. (All other materials and drivers listed below in the dxdiag text). Since installing win7, virtually any game I play system will make hard-gel duration indeterminate (sometimes an hour or two, sometimes 2-3 seconds). Everything that is currently on the screen freezes in place, the speakers make a buzzing noise / growling midrange and the system becomes completely insensitive and requires a hard reboot (press the reset button on the case for the power of flash). The system power settings are set on "high performance". Nor my CPU or GPU run hot, both are well within their limits. The system does not generate error messages, it freezes just. Any help would be appreciated!

Tried to reinstall WXP in separeat partition to see if would work like that but will not because most recent W7.
I suggest that you use XP personally gave a computer which is so old.
If you have a computer with XP (3 + years) and have not changed at least two of these things (CPU, RAM, video card), you should probably stick with XP. Not worth the headache of praying that things work with a material more old which probably is no longer supported on the new OS.
Usually, people that the computer was shipped with Vista 1, 2 or less it several years ago can be upgraded to 7 without too much trouble if it was a mid-range machine. In addition, it seems that Windows is not recognizing your graphics card. It looks like (http://www99.shopping.com/xPO-Hewlett-Packard-SR1020NX-CEL2-8-512-80-COM-XPH) you have an Intel Extreme graphics card. However, nothing about it is extreme. Since it is an extreme Intel card I guess Windows Update should find the drivers for you, but it is not then maybe the video card is just too outdated for 7? I'm not sure.
Moreover, I wouldn't worry much about the lack of updates for XP right now. If ever you encounter more money then get the new computer with 7 on it, but at this time I suggest you stay on XP if your hardware and software actually works and that is more important than a few features of 7.

Problem with 'The Witcher Enhanced Addition' with Windows 7
I recently bought a copy of the witcher. I was able to install it on my computer (windows 7), but when I tried to start the game, it appeared a warning box that says that the minimum requirements were not met. It's hard to believe because it works on my brothers computer, and mine is better than hers in every sense. The only difference is that there is a windows XP. Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you

Hi PMAN216,
Is your Windows 7 edition 32-bit or 64-bit?
Looks like "The Witcher Enhanced' is not compatible with the 64 bit version of Windows 7." For more information, see the link below.

I have the software not compatible with Windows 8. How can I install it?
You may have upgraded to Windows 8 or bought a new laptop with Windows 8 and can ask you how you would install any software that is made for an earlier version of Windows. Windows 8 has a similar to Windows 7 for this purpose compatibility mode.
NOTE: This process may not work, but it's a good starting point. This will not work for each program/driver out there, but he has the best chance. For software that is not removed, start with step 3.
1. download the software/driver.
2. start the extraction process and take note it is extracted to. cancel Setup after extraction finished.
3. navigate to this folder of extraction. Right click on the Setup/installer file and select compatibility Troulbeshoot.
4 follow the prompts in the troubleshooting and select the automatic settings option.
5. Select the Test program when you are prompted.
6. follow the installation.
7. If no errors have been presented, it can work at this stage.
Hope this information is useful.
