compatibility problem with Vista

Hi all

I have found it difficult to install the Captivate 3 under the environment of the Vista Enterprise, but the same installation file works fine with Win XP. Is there a compatibility issue with Vista Business? Anyone experienced the same thing?

Error code is: 1395

Hi all

Now, I'm sure that this is the bug of Microsxxx. Now, I can not install Captivate 3, impossible to install MSN, can't even get built inside Vista automatic update service update form.

The Microsxxx error code is 80073712, and I did exactly what I was told in the website:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/KB931712

But I wasn't getting anywhere!

Now I'm going to "downgrade" my OS to XP Wiin (Finally, that I'm not sure if it is the downgrade at all)

Thank you once again, Rick.

  • Compatibility problem with Vista and iTunes

I downloaded iTunes 9 on my Tobisha laptop Satellite last night and put about 2.5 GB of music on it. I didn't upload the music from the internet. I used MP3s, I had for a few years.

When I went to boot up the laptop this morning the loading process took some time, but it never loaded to the login screen. I just see the bottom of MicroSoft. Is there a compatibility problem with Vista and iTunes? Maybe I put too much music on my laptop?

Boot in safe mode and delete iTunes and all the music I downloaded would solve the problem? Or it is less simple than that?

Don't know where to direct this question if any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

iTunes is compatible with Vista and there should not be any problem.
Yesterday, I installed iTunes 9 on my U400 and everything happened correctly.
If your laptop can not boot Vista correctly, then you should try the repair feature.

Turn on the computer and press F8. Now you will see the advanced boot menu.
    Now, you have many choices.

As a first step, you should try the option called: last good known Configuration (Advanced)

If this will not help and the Vista will not start then try the option called repair your computer. This option displays a list of system recovery tools, you can use to repair startup problems, run diagnostics, or restore your system.

If that does not help, then you will need to retrieve the unit using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery.

  • Problem with Vista hit the Satellite X 200 - 20 s

Sometimes during typing on vista, it will stutter and freeze. The time is very short. Is this a problem with vista or the laptop. The T7300 Core 2 Duo 2 ghz processor.

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro S200 and the same problem was with my camera. It s is not a hardware problem, it s more a driver related issue No. So, the best thing you can do is update your bios and keep your drivers up-to-date. Just check the download Drivers Toshiba site and make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

I had resolved my stuttering (core2duo 2.33 Ghz, 2 GB RAM) by updating all drivers...

    That's all

  • PCMCIA.sys problem with Vista on Satellite M40 135

    Hello

    (Sorry for my English)
I tried to install Windows Vista on my Satellite M40-135. (I added the 512 MB of RAM).

But, like all users, I have the problem with pcmcia.sys. Vista starts successfully when I delete the pcmcia.sys file.
But I have a problem: I have a PCMCIA TV and I could not use it without the pcmcia.sys file...

So I was wondering if Toshiba will download the new drivers for Windows Vista... This laptop is 'Vista capable' according to Microsoft System requirements...

    Waiting for your help...

Unfortunately, it seems that the snipe is right.
Can the hardware specifications of this laptop allows you to install the Vista
but it seems that Toshiba has decided to publish no Vista drivers for each series laptop.

Not seem that your laptop series is not part of the list

  • Problem with vista 64 - not another update

I am running vista 64 ultimate sp1 and for some reason, I can't take

    Update cumulative security for IE7 for Win x 64 (KB972260) 8007371b
    SP2 KB94865                                                                         800F081F
    IE8 for vista 64 8007371b

I have tried and read all what google can find
    I ran the Fixit
    I ran sfc/scannow - no problem
I ran the tool - no error
I disabled and then uninstalled mcafee
I disabled at startup, which was not microsoft
I tried as well the update of windows and programs stand-alone installation for all updates 3 - no difference
reinstalled windows update customer... no diff
tried in safe mode - same mistake
renamed caroot2 and software distribution directories - nope

I'm starting to think this is a problem with ie and you cannot uninstall it. I tried to install these updates several times and I got other errors and even once told me I didn't need the update (2260). I think I had a 80073712 and 7000 d also, not sure update. These errors only came once or twice, said them are the main errors

the strange thing is that there still updates
It took these updates after the fact

Update security for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB973768)
A security update for Jscript 5.7 for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB971961)

A security update for Windows Media Format Runtime 11 for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB968816)

These upates are more recent than those that it won't take.

I even tried to reinstall an update but after sitting between 4-5 hours and thinking that he was going to work, he stopped on the last line to 60% and pops up a message saying that he could not continue and it has been reinstalled the origin o/s. I think that this may be due to fact I said to take updates, maybe I should not have.

  • Problem with Vista SP2

Hi, I am posting this for a friend who is computer illiterate

She recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1545 of PC World, I did all the Microsoft updates & then handed to him only to find a few days later, when she went to assistance & some of the images have been only partially displayed. PC World said that it was probably a problem with updates & would be 'Mater itself. " Ultimately, we decided that I would do a recovery of the system from the recovery partition. I made & then downloaded the first batch of updates & images were very good, it was only after the installation of SP2 that it happened again. It is fine when it is connected to the internet but not in offline mode. I posted an example here

    http://i46.Photobucket.com/albums/F106/barrythegreek/capture.jpg

There is help & Support - The Desktop (overview)

I asked on the Dell Forum & nothing. I hope that this is a known problem & will set a new update but I don't know.

    Any help appreciated. TIA

    My answer:

    Hello Barrythegreek,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft answers forums for Windows Vista.

You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the video drivers.

Also try to run a file system check.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    2. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Problems with Vista for the bases of x 64 systems (KB2753842) updated

After the Vista (KB2753842) to update my sidebar and the task bar bottom turned white.  They were clearly before the update.
I rolled back the update and the return to a light background.
The next time I turned on the computer, auto update installed (KB2753842) and the white background returned.
Then I disabled the update of the automatic system and uninstalled the update (KB2753842).
The taskbar and sidebar are back to normal. (clear)
Is there another way to solve this problem?

    PA bear,

I have successfully completed the list, except article 11 c. For good measure, clear your Java cache by http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml I was unable to search and find the Java Control Panel by the link above.

The KB2753842 is listed in the list of installed updates and my problem with the white background in the sidebar bar and the stain was gone!

Of Kudo and thanks a lot for your advice and help.

I now intend to start the automatic update of the window.

  • Problems with Vista start after the update of Norton.

I had problems with start-up since Norton updated and re-printing my subscription a few days ago.  Initially, the splash screen would freeze, I'll try to re-start, only to be refrozen.  After several attempts, with different amounts of time in between, I tried to start a 'normal', but are also intended to "launch fix."  Microsoft solution is to go back to "settings" before the new and improved Norton Security has been installed.  "Norton isn't too happy with this solution, warning: your firewall is disabled, you are vulnerable to all viruses known to humanity" and Norton resets security and the volley continues.  At some point, the screen may freeze, and I have to start all over again.  Had my Vista Home premium SP1 and SP2 installed this past year, patches and I have had no problems since, so far.  If anything is not easy? The pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.  The garbage man comes tomorrow, I'm tempted to put my computer out of the trash.  Help. Please, I beg you.

    Hello, Heather,

Boot safe mode with networking.  Download the following tool and run a full scan to exclude the malware.  If the system is infected, Norton will be compromised and would not be able to detect malware.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=16

Reboot - still problems with startup?  Uninstall Norton - use the uninstaller to remove all traces.  Restart your system and reinstall the software.

Once you have completed and reinstalled Norton, test - you still having the problem?  Try the link to clean boot troubleshooting below.

  • Problems with Vista updates

I have a gateway with Vista.  He continues to try to install an update and said then the update has not configured correctly and restores the previous settings.  This whole process takes about 4 hours and it happens every time I turn on my computer.

The it guy here at work told me to do a system restore, but I don't have one that goes back to before that this problem started.  It's driving me crazy!

    Hi Pennik,

You can try to perform a repair of the boot recovery option pre-installed on your computer or booting from a disk for Installation of Windows Vista and see if it helps.

For more information, you can refer to the articles:

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

Once you can boot normally check updates are offered recently and could not be installed.

Search for the installation error code that your computer has saved when the installation failed. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, click all programs and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    (c) in the status column of this window, find the failed to install update and then click on the red X.

    (d) a new window opens that displays the installation error code.

See the Windows updates are installed

    Hope this information is useful.
