• Podcasts App suddenly stops playing

  Since the last major release of Podcsasts I was struggeling with her. Fortunetely some of its bugs have been fixed. Unfortunately for the most annoying bugs have not. Maybe I'm wrong with my opinion, but I really think that the main purpose of the application of Podcasts is to read podcasts, right? So why does he completely suddenly stop playing podcasts? the only thing that can be done is then open the app manually and click the comparable play hidden button and continue playing.   @mgollmick, I have no solutions to your questions but I wanted to add on your frustration about the application of Podcasts.  I started regularly using the Podcast app 6 months ago, and it has always been glitch in a multitude of ways:

  1. when I select a podcast, it won't often begin play immediately, regardless of whether I'm listening to a podcast already downloaded or via wifi.  Sometimes it will take 30 seconds to 1 minute before the podcast begins to play.  At other times, he won't play at all, and I have to close the app and re - manually open it (sometimes several times) until I can play a podcast.  I noticed that I do not suffer the same problem during access to downloaded podcasts offline (for example, during a hike).  This leads to believe that it is a problem of wifi, but I never experience lag issues when you access a music video Youtube or iCloud on my iPhone.

  2. when the list of "Unplayed Épisodes", I'm often impossible to remove (or there is a significant shift to delete) of podcast episodes in which I'm not interested.  I drag an individual podcast episode or click the 'Edit' button to remove podcast episodes, but more often that otherwise, I am unable to do.  Once again, I have to close the application and reopen it manually a couple of times before that I can delete episodes.

  3. the application of Podcast will often suddenly crash within 30 seconds of play an episode.   Sometimes it will crash after playing for an hour, even if I do not have set the sleep timer.   I have to open the app manually and click the 'Play '.

  4. There is often a long latency when trying manually updated list of "Unplayed Episodes.  Why I immediately see new videos for subscribed Youtube channels so I manually update the Youtube app, but it takes a minute or more to see a current list of new episodes of the podcast through Apple app?

  I've always been a fan of Apple products, and I understand when there are software problems from time to time, but to have so many important issues that impact, use of an application is beyond frustrating.   I understand now better Walt Mossberg recent Re / Code article criticizing Apple for not fixing not important issues with their own applications.  Although his article does not mention issues with Podcasts app, its purpose is also applicable.

• WiFi remotely on DSC HX400

  There are some functions like this, you can take pictures by using your phone as a remote control with the PlayMemories application. I think that there are a few other commands such as zoom, but maybe that's the other camera models. If you have not already on your camera, remember to update to v.3.10 on the site Web of PlayMemories camera app or through management app from the menu section.

  For those of you who bought a desktop computer HP E9150T can you please share the pro and con with me?

  I've waited long to upgrade my old built generic XP desktop and I'm looking at HP E9150T and the Dell Studio XPS as spare parts.  Although the E9150T has more memory on their graphics card Dell is currently $150 cheaper with hardware quite comperable.  My problem with the Dell Studio XPS is reported that periodically the system overheats causing the fan to kick at such a high SPEED that users say it sounds like an airplane taking off.  Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be that a customer consumer out there about the E9150T, so I don't know what he expected and wants to carefully weigh my options until I went to bed a lot.

  In addition to the problem with the fan, I would like to know anything else, you can share with me regarding the system and support by HP.  Note that I am not a serious gamer and I don't think I have overtax my system with everything I do.  I'm really looking for a system that will meet my needs for a long time.

  It is best to avoid 1st generation X 58 (high-end) Board of Directors of a big box-manufacturer.

  1. lack of refinement.  This is a good market version a Committee of Asus OEM.  Some early production bugs are resolved with BIOS updated frequently if you have a retail Council.  A Committee of OEM HP can get one or two updates.  There is no ideal Board, but 1st generation tips are still buggy.  BIOS frequently update helps, but does not eliminate the frustration factor if you are affected by the bug.

  3. limitation of output power from the PSU OEM.  Better nutrition is capable of driving two high range GPU.

  4. no oveclocking ability.  I7 920 D0 entry level should be able to operate at 4.0 GHz with a detail of good advice and a CPU cooler.  It is a huge boost in performance compared to 2.66 GHz stock speed (time of Super Pi 1 M 9 seconds @ 4.0 GHz vs 16 seconds @ 2 .66GHz).

  5 pre-installed crapware.

  6. no choice of OS.  Vista is dead.  The future is W7 SP1 (2nd quarter 2010) If you must have the latest OS.  I prefer Windows XP Pro 32 or 64-bit.  It is widely compatible with programs in May because of his age.  It is significantly faster than Vista or W7.  He joined no digital rights management.

  Personally, I would not spend $ on an i7 920 drilling rig.  Unless you are a pro video editor or a super - duper Hard Core than Gamer, a custom bicoeur overclockee Intel platform would be my 1st choice.  For about $600, you get a 4.0 GHz overclocked CPU that could calculate the number Pi to the digits of 1 M in 13 seconds.  A stock HP 920 i7 handles this task in 17 seconds.

  Put the $ saved in a savings account.  Expect that your 4.0 GHz dual core CPU becomes the bottleneck before you upgrade the MB, CPU and RAM (maybe 3-4 years).  When you do that, you'll probably looking at a 6-8 CPU core.  Scalability a rig is a fool's game.  Buy only what you need today.  Go with eSATA if you need external storage.  USB 2.0 is only suitable for the smallest USB.

  I am an excessive user of Photoshop / graphic designer and I just bought Dell U2413 to obtain, in combination with my graphics card Nvidia Quadro K2000, a true wide range/10-bit working environment of color which is very important for what I do. (Nec or Eizo was not an option because I've already spent so much money on other materials and I opted for Dell because I heard it is the best display in this price range - in my country, with taxes, it cost me 566 EUROS).

  Previously, I was working on iMac for almost a decade then separate pieces of hardware or Windows operating system was a new (and, I must admit, pretty scary) territory for me. However, after everything has been put in place, I tried to calibrate my monitor for the first time and then I was very unpleasantly surprised! Namely, I have X-Rite i1 Display colorimeter Pro and some optional software for it (ColorEyes display Pro and baslCColor display 5 was much better/appropriate for me because of their L * option for TRC so I never used it original i 1 Profiler is a software which is a LOT less than the previous two compering), but because Dell in it's manual said to use a calibration color UltraSharp Solution software is exclusively I decided to give it a go and try with it. But, to my (as I already said, very unpleasant!) surprise, I was EVEN less of i1 Profiler which, as I have said, was never an option for me.

  Not the end of the world, I thought, I'll re - calibrate it with ColorEyes Display Pro and everything goes well. But, after doing so, my unpleasant surprise become even more unpleasant, when I discovered that no matter what profile I chose in Windows Color Management and press "Set as default", nothing happens - my screen remains the same! The only way I can get a color change is if I create a profile using Windows built in utility. Profiles created in this way change the appearance of the screen, but all the profiles downloaded or created make no difference. And now I literally don't know what to do... The worst thing only of this, I can't blame WHO:

  1 Dell - that has a 'high end' view gives you ONLY a few factory presets + 2 custom profiles (Cal1 and Cal2) made by software calibration nowdays more inferior and useless;
  2. Windows 8 - who did a terrible color management which, in the same way, not a color at all management;
  3. me - who is unable to see put in place something that is more than simple & obvious?

  THANKS in ADVANCE for everyone is willing to help me solve this question and forgive me for a long (and perhaps confusing-) as you can say English is not my language kindergarten post!

  First of all if you use the eyes color pro with GBLED and i1DisplayPro and you're not invited to a sort of spectral correction for your type of backlight screen, you're hurting. No matter how visually pleasant it is, the profile is not accurate, playing WYSIWYB (what you see is what you believe) not WYSIWYG.
  Second, unless you have purchased/updated Basiccolor Display 5 after may 2013 (NEC GB LED suppor for PA242W, 5.1.2 version) with GBLED and i1DisplayPro, its measures are wrong, no matter how nice of calibration is.

  With your questions:
  You have 6 presets:
  -CAL1/CAL2, please read questions configuration on the Dell color calibration Solution in this instance. Please install the latest version 1.0.1.0 (67MB) and disable all color adjustments in yor GPU nvidia (bright colors, digital vibrance... all OFF). Most of us use in Windows 7 without problem (after a few configuration settings: spectal correction for GBLED files)

  -Factory-sRGB/AdobeRGB which are probably with a white point off the coast of the D65, recalibrate in GPU LUT with ArgyllCMS/DisplayCal. Works very well.
  -Standard with a usually arround WP 7000 K (native GBLED WP), if calibrated in GPU LUT with ArgyllCMS/DisplayCal ' nearest the locus of the daylight "of your native WP should give about your contrast of 1000: 1. It is perhaps unnecessary to your workflow, but it is better to know it.
  -Custom, native, fully customizable range WhitePoint, blackpopint and luminance of D50 D70 and beyond.
  Work with color management applications just you Custom, CAL1 and CAL2.

  You may have a problem with Windows (from Windows Vista from) color management. By default, Windows does not allow profiles (but applications can) rewriting GPU LUT of calibration. You need to configure.
  In W8, it's done:
  -From the right panel-> Search-> color management
  -Go to the tab advanced options
  -Click on "change default settings...". ', the button down with administrator privileges.
  -Go to the tab advanced options in this new window
  -Toogle check buton (bottom) "windows use on screen calibration" (sorry I don't have an English version of Windows and I don't know the exact text)
  -Reload button calibrations (bottom)
  -Close
  -Go to the "Devices" tab and select your screen in the upper drop-down list

  -Select your profile

  Your screen SHOULD be the same printer Dell preset OSD in which this profile was created, without other changes in contrast or brightness.
  If enabled, please disable the "AUTO" mode in the Dell Display Manager tray icon, use the manual mode with "enhanced video" (last tab) OFF.

  BTW and I know that this is not your case, but without workflow 10bits or gamma in 3DLUT (NECs & eizos) L * gamma calibration is not necessary.

  For those who have worn with 8-bit or DA better sRGB gamma CRT and let Photoshop or GIMP color management to make corrections for images ECIv2 (or with similar profiles of gamma)

• New vcops Manager installation - no display on dashboard

  I just downloaded and installed the trial version of vcenter ops manager VAPP.

  The installation has been completed ok and I can launch the vsphere client plug-in.

  What I don't see is a standard dashboard view, so I wonder if jthis is normal or I have not activated something. Compered to the product documentation, I see a very simplified version.

  I would be recognizing any suggestions on what I have missed or misconfigured.

  After JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS = - Dfile.encoding = UTF8 and redeploy the application special characters were displayed across properly.

  Small question, but a long answer. In the end, I arrived.

  There were a few quirks in writing this script.

  (1) the timestamp of creation in the event object is not always exactly the same as the timestamp in the property instant VirtualMachine.

  The solution is to use the entity property of the task to get the timestamp of the snapshot.

  (2) the Get-ViEvent cmdlet returns a VimApi.ManagedObjectReference instead of a VMware.Vim.ManagedObjectReference.

  So this isn't a big problem because I can easily convert a MoRef (unfortunately not by casting).

  (3) the speed of the Get-ViEvent cmdlet is not ideal compered to the task of the collector of the API

  (2) and 3) I decided to go for the collector's working methods.

  The flow of the script is very simple.

  First create a hash of all the tasks table that created snapshots on specific comments.

  The key in the hash table is the name of the guest concatenated with the snapshot creation timestamp.

  Then the script use the cmdlet Get-Snapshot to retrieve snapshots for the guests.

  This output is built a key and then the key is used to search for the user in the hash table.

  The user property is added to the SnapshotImpl object.

  Note1: the parameter - UseCulture to the Export-Csv cmdlet is PS v2 CTP3

  Note 2: it should not be too difficult to convert the script to handle all the guests instead of one. The name of the guest is already in the key in the hash table.

• Enigma of file size

  Snow, ID CS5 Leopard

  I have a 887,1 MB. I need to split the pages to reduce the size of the files. When I delete a file, the size remains the same pages in the Finder and in bridge. Another file with the same number of pages and images shows 12.8 MB while the comperable files are about 350 MB. Any ideas what's happening? (Yes, I trashed prefs.) Any suggestions on how to get the right files to display in the metadata?

  Is there somewhere where I can download an ID file that has 2 pages with 48 frames inlaid with 3MB. Metadata says it's 845.MB, the following file has 2 pages with 46 3MBeach embedded image. Metadata watch 126,92 MB.
