Complete security for the family by blocking programs after uninstall

Hello

I tried to activate the control of application on my son's account to prevent it from playing games online before major exams.

I activate the control application and checked the games'programs and only game programs.
It appeared that she also blocked Open Offfice programs (office of her school program)
and he could no longer do his homework on his computer.
So I tried to turn it off.
It did not work.

I tried in many ways, in vain,
so I tried to uninstall the parental control.
Totally: uninstalled Windows live on your PC (standard Microsoft recommended procedure).
delete his account on the Microsoft Family Safety Web site.
deleted the account parent on the Web site too.

I tried CCleaner.

By blocking.
How a program always popup blocking issues after uninstall is complete?
It is totally buggy!

Tried to reinstall averything, check everything restart, uncheck everything.
By blocking.

Dumbest thing I've seen: a parental control popup telling me that family safety has blocked... Family safety!

How can I clear out bleach these flags hidden scrap blocking?

Please don't tell me to follow the official Microsoft uninstall procedure.
I already did it twice.
I need a patch, a difficulty, a hammer blacksmith for this program bugged.

Current status: disabled family installed and active, the control of the application, always blocking Open Office.

Thank you.

Hello

I saved my son data (excluding ApData which I knew well for hide hidden control settings).
delete his account;
restarted;
re-created his account,
reinstalled Live Family Safety;
it activated on son's account.
restarted.

I tried OpenOffice and the game, are not blocked.

I'll wait some time (it has a lot to do to build on green energy for school) before trying again to activate the control of the application.

Thank you for your support.

  • How configure security for the family of my adolescence with the ablility to add or remove installed programs?

The young person must be able to install and uninstall programs as an administrator. I tried setting up a standard account, but the first thing he did was to try to remove the Windows Live folder. He also tried to hack the system to remove the program. The teenager still fills the hard disk at maximum capacity, which is about 230 GB and he wants to be able to uninstall or remove programs regularly. I would like to set up his account to be able to do, but it prevents playing with security for the family. The reason for the installation of the family safety program is to monitor its activities. If he knows he's being watched it will be twice before doing things he's not supposed to do. The program works very well for young children, but adolescents are more difficult to treat. There must be a way to monitor its activities without her havoc on the operating system. Microsoft has done a great job with this program regarding now the difficulties children but this all older children who need a little more freedom. Can someone help?

The first thing I would do is to create the admin password recovery media, then create another admin account.

If the teenager needs admin privileges you are wide open, so I hope that you have all your recovery disks and backup data.

  • Windows 7 security for the family

    Hello

A couple of years back, I've set up family safety on my daughter's laptop Win 7.  She is now 17 and a senior in high school.  Time to lift the restrictions.  They interfere with his school work.  I had a couple of Microsoft accounts over the years.  I think that I probably put in place safety for the family on his machine using an older account.  When I try to log in security for the family on his cell phone, he already has my most recent user name and allow me to the older (and the password).  When I get my most recent credentials, it says the following: "the action cannot be completed because the parent is therefore more a part of the Family Safety family."  How can I enter the security software for the family on his computer, turn it off and uninstall.  Thank you.

  • How can a member of the family without an account standard security for the family... I have windows 7

I use to have security for the family, but it has just stopped working.  I need for a family member who does not have a standard account.  I downloaded Essentials.

    Hi jaguar1234,

The latest version of the parental control now uses the standard user accounts (logon Windows) as a child in the safety of the family. If you need to know about adding a user to the Windows login with standard privileges, please see this link.

Once you have finished creating a standard user account and that you want to manage under parental control, then follow these steps:

    1. run the parental control on a Windows account with administrator privileges. If this is your first time running the parental control, you need to sign in using your Microsoft Account.

    2. after login, select the standard Windows account that you want to monitor as a child by checking the box to the right of the name of the account, and then click Next after.

3 on the right, you will see members parental control with a list of drop down option. Click the menu drop-down, and then select Add standard account name.

    4. click on record. Wait until the installation is done.

    5. Once done, you should see the name of the account under Windows monitored accounts. To manage the account and setup of filters and restrictions, to connect on https://familysafety.microsoft.com, look for the child account name, and then click change settings.

If you are having trouble configuring your parental control, do not hesitate to reply to this post.

    Thank you.

  • Security for the family of the Blocked Sites

I just looked through security to the family a few days ago.  I have blocked some sites and my child could not see, but now I see that it can display them.  What should I do to keep them blocked?  It can not access my account, the filter is light and the sites are still blocked in the family safety website.  We have windows 7.  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Communities.

I'm sorry to know that you have problems with the blocking of Web sites using parental controls. Let me try and help you with this question.

One possible way to solve this problem is to refresh the web filtering settings for your child by turning and then by following the steps below:

    1. connect to https://fss.live.com using your Parent account.
    2. click under the user name of your child.
    3. request for Web filtering, check the Disable web content filtering , and then Save.
4 tick to enable web filtering you can adjust the slider to different settings.
    5. Save.

After that, refresh the client of parental control to update changes made via the Family Safety website. To update the client, click the icon with the arrow on the upper right.

To update the family safety filter, follow these steps:

  • Security for the family and the Task Manager

I installed on all my computers, parental control, for all users, and it is configured to block all adult sites.  It works perfectly, but there is a fault.  A person can go into the Task Manager and end the process and access the internet without the security of the family running.  Is there a way to stop the possibility of terminating the process in the Task Manager?
    Help, please?

    Hi Lisa,

We have simulated the issue on our end. Standard accounts can use the Task Manager to end the control client parental (fsui.exe), but if he or she tries to put end to the the service process control parental (fsssvc.exe), it will be refused. This would avoid the child's account to get around the parental control service.
If you want to disable the tasks for the standard account manager, you can post on the forum of Windows. Please note that the Task Manager is useful for standard accounts such as terminate tasks for programs no longer responds.
    Thank you!

  • Security for the family (Windows 8) started blocking * some * 2013 Office apps (Word, PowerPoint)... but he used to work.

I'm having this same problem, and would be grateful for the help.

I have a laptop Windows 8 with 2013 Office installed. I put no administrator accounts for all members of the family except me and turned on Family Safety, blocking all applications except those approved by me. It was all working well for about a year, until very recently (maybe 2 months ago).

One day, the wife and children reported Family Safety started MS Word it blocks all their user (non-administrator) accounts. And this will happen * after * the application was already started for a minute or two! (I don't know what has changed, or if there was a Windows update that has just occurred, etc.). Word would be arrested, and invite him to the dialog box asking permission ("my mother is here... ") appeared. Enter the correct credentials admin does not help, and Word does not start with the subsequent launches. I repeat the question now.

    Other comments/symptoms:

-Word and PowerPoint are blocked, but Excel has worked well.
-All 2013 office applications work fine on the admin account.
-Parental control settings are correct (I quintuple checked now).
-Disable the parental control completely to any non-administrator user account allows applications Office work very well on this account.
-Create a new user account not administrator for... This test also the same problem.
-In the course of running Windows Update (to date) and reboot... no change.
-Don't search other discussions of the forum... no joy or solutions:

Help! Word is the program children use more and disabling all parental control so they can use it is really back & broken.

    Thanks in advance

I still have the same problem as John.  I tried all the remedies, including this Court, but nothing seems to work.   Family Safety blocks even MS Word.

    Hey Wolfe Pack.

I have not tried the suggestion of Winston to remove all files for the parental control settings again. Did you?

In short, this is what I tried in the place, which seems to have helped:

In the admin account, I opened the dialog box to manage parental controls for a child's account settings. Then clicking on the link to the installer apps are allowed. I chose "X can only use apps that I leave" and then at the bottom right you click the box 'disable all' to deselect all applications.

I have logged on to the child's account, then launched the word and allowed him ("my mother is here... ") before any other apps or background allowing deals who wanted permission to run. Launched Word then OK. Then, in various other applications were to be used and popped up, I allowed, too. It's annoying because it meant a lot of Bing and type the admin password for everything that I wanted to use or that runs in the background, but seems not have allowed Word to run again.

This could end up being identical to what Winston has proposed (by deleting all files, effectively erasing all parameters). I'll see how it goes. Let us know if you try it.

  • Security for the family on XP

    Summary of the issue
Other issues of Windows Live family safety

What version of Windows Live Family Safety do you use?
    Version 2009 (14.0.8117.416)

    Additional details
    Hello..

Recently I set up Windows Live Family Safety on my desktop with Windows 7.  I was quite impressed by it, so I decided to install it on Office XP for my daughter.

I downloaded the necessary Installer for XP; WLE 2009 v14.0.8117.416.  When installing, I chose to install parental controls only.  All completed without error.  I then started the parental control in the start menu... so far, so good.  Then I entered in my Windows Live ID.  A window in charge and asked me what accounts I wanted to follow, but it was empty, so I was unable to act.  There are three standard accounts in service on my daughter's computer so I'm a little confused as to why none of them showed.

A test, I created a test account in the control panel and only one appeared in the parental controls window.

Can someone explain why the other accounts are not appear to please and most importantly, how to get to their work?

    Thank you very much...

    Nick :)

    Course... Finally!

I decided to create two new user accounts for children on the XP machine.  These were immediate in the parental control settings window and I was able to choose to monitor... I was also able to bind to so the current parental control setting which was very convenient.

It seemed that the problem was caused by the name of the profiles being the same as the name of the profiles on my Windows 7 box.  If this is the case, I'm a little surprised that I couldn't get this resolved much sooner.

    Thanks for the help though.

If I could make a suggestion though...

The FSQuickTrace tool is simply not compatiple with XP then it may be an idea to not recommend XP users try to run it.

    See you soon...

    Nick :)
