  Now, I install the software back, I have successfully installed Adobe Photoshop CS3 and recorded it, I then tried to install the upgrade for CS3 DVD:

  Photoshop CS4, but it fails to insert the code. The code for the CS4 update is accepted OK but when it asks for the serial number for Photoshop CS3 already installed and registered, he said that this serial number is not recognized. I can't seem to work around this problem, and it is very annoying. I have received for the two versions and they were bought from reputable companys Unfortunately it was a few years ago, so probably no help now.

  As observed, the problem is solved now. It was caused by the alias created in the Applications folder, named 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 8' from the downloaded installer. PSE Installer has attempted to create a similar file for application installation, and since he could not create/write in this folder, this is why he wasn't.

  I think that you are using a Windows XP computer.  Try this, inside the sub-folder:

  C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0 (if these files don't exist, then please create)

  create a new folder saying named nothing say 'abc '. Then restart the machine, then try to reinstall the PSE, see if it works?

  I have a new PC with a small C 55 gig SSD boot drive. I want to load all my programs on my much larger D drive. Photoshop Elements 9 does not give me a choice to load on a drive other than drive C can someone help pls.

  On to problem by upgrading Photoshop Elements 9 to 10 elements. Went on drive D, no problem.

  You can change the installation location through the desktop Adobe CC application.

  Click the gear on the top icon right > select Preferences > section under the creative cloud, you can set the installation location.
