    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

We're here to help and guide you in the right direction.

    Help me with little information.

    1. what version of windows you are using on the computer?
    2. what anti-virus program you installed on the computer?
    3. using backup windows or any other third-party backup program?

    Try these methods and check.

    Method 1
Check the status ofVolume snapshot service. If it is started, then tryrestarting the volume shadow copy service and check.
    (a) click Start, type services.msc in the start search.
    (b) search for the shadow copy Volume service.
    (c) make a right click on the Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS) and select Properties. Check if it is started.
    (d) if it is stopped, select start or restart. Make sure that the service is started and set as automatic.
    (e) click on apply and OK, if you make changes.

    Method 2
I suggest do a clean boot and then try to save.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Method 3
Temporarily disable the security software and check if it helps.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Whenever I try to back up files by using the backup utility Windows 7, I get the following error message:

"A snapshot could not be created. Check the event logs "VSS" and "SPP" application for more information.

In the research forums, I find a common solution to the increase in the size / cleaning of the system reserved partition.  My problem is that the system reserved partition does not exist on the computer.  The computer originally had Windows Vista and upgraded to Windows 7 x 86 Ultimate SP1.

Is it possible to get Windows 7 backup to work without a system reserved partition?  If not, is anyway to create a system partition reserved without wiping the hard drive and reinstalling everything?

    Hello

The error message indicates that the backup was successful, but ended up jumping places as he could not locate them. So I guess you must have changed the location of the folders listed in the error message.  This is why the corresponding library was not accessible using the EXPLORER User Interface.

To work around the problem, try this:

    1. click on 'Change backup settings' of the troubleshooting dialog box.
    2. expand the node of the user whose libraries are reported as ignored.
3 deselect the library which is at the origin of the problem.
4 expand the 'Computer' node in the tree, and then select the redirected folders location.
    5 save settings.

    Original title: backup error 0 x 80070002

Hi, I checked on a large number of posts and can't find the answer. I tried the FIX, but it is NOT APPROPRIATE for my computer. I looked at the profile registry settings, and they are all ok. I turned off MS SECURITY ESSENTIALS and run the back-up and it always fails. I also did a scan (and check and fix errors) the disk backup and the C:\ drive. Out of options! Hand out and buy third-party software, is there another way to get this problem corrected?

Thank you. I does no significant changes to the computer and have only been using it normally. The error message when I developed it was: THE SYSTEM cannot FIND THE SPECIFIED FILE. Error CODE: 0 x 8007002 with the time and location of the backup. I read the error log and it mentions a file that it could not find, but the file is there. Whenever I run the back-up and it failed, the error log under a different file name - but was there, every file on the computer.

I tried method 1 and went for scenario 3, but he said that the program was not compatible with my machine. I ran the SCAN DISK via C:\ > PROPERTIES > TOOLS > ERROR CHECKING and it was very good. I tried to run the back-up every day with the same error message.

However, yesterday (2 weeks after it stopped working) it was the day that the back-up functioning normally and it worked fine. So although I now have a back-up job I really did nothing to fix it, it just fixed itself.
