Manufacturing must provide a means of recovery of Windows. Have you checked your user guide to see if there is a mention of a "recovery Partition" on the hard drive?

Also contact manufacturing support team.

Recovery usb I downloaded from microsoft was trying to restart windows 8.   Initial start-up asked me the windows KEY.  The key is loaded into the bios but is not visible.  How can I regain access windows KEY?  Thank you

    You're telling me that the manufacturer could not / refuses to send you the installation media to restore their computer to condition "as delivered"?

    Who is the manufacturer?  I know that Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Toshiba, etc all have them set up programs to help users specifically with (this installation/recovery to get to their systems support) as they agreed (in their license agreement with Microsoft) provide a method for the end user to do exactly this.

    In many cases the 8/8.1 Windows product key is embedded in the BIOS at the factory for these machines.  You could read here on some methods for such a key - but honestly - you shouldn't have it (must be able to skip that part in installation and always get installed.):

  • Laptop comes with Windows 7 installed - but no software disc to use later

    I just bought a HP laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed on it.  He came with a disc of Windows 7 - just installed on the computer.

    I'm not an expert in the terminology of this now, so bear with me!   In the past when I went to computer technology.  Sometimes, they cleaned my hard drive and reinstalled windows from scratch software.  I think it was to clean etc.

    I contacted HP and that they sent me a few disks system recovery, but that's all.  No disk Windows 7 program.

    I know that I have the license under the mobile number, but from what I've seen online there are no Windows software, you can simply download and then use your own license number with her.

    So, how can I get the full program to use (from scratch rather than "recovery")?

    I hope you know what I mean...

    Thank you

    Hello

    The recovery discs you sent by HP include the installation of your Windows 7 operating system and all the software original that came with your laptop.  So, for example if you were to replace the hard drive at some point in the future, these discs will reinstall the OS + all of your software on the new drive.

    Kind regards

  • laptop computer (HDD 320GB) with windows 7-64 bit OS.iam unable to shrink the drive c less than 155 GB

    Hello Sir,

    recently I bought the laptop (320GB hard drive) with windows 7-64 bit OS.iam unable to shrink less than 155 GB c drive please help me. I want to reduce this to 90 GB

    Its also the case that win7 takes only supported 4 basic partitions and you can't mention what Disk Management displays for drive 0.

    And also if a pre-installed version of victory, if you manage to create partitions and at a later date, you will need to use your recovery disks, that may well destroy all created partitions.

    For what reason you want to partition?

  • I tried to reinstall windows xp on my computer and I got a message < root windows > \systems32\hal.dll. I tried to use a disc of windows xp cd and nothing works for me. my pc came with windows pre-installed on it btw. can someone help me fix it

    I tried the suggestion on the error message and nothing works

    Hi Honee,

    Please, try the following.

    You must boot your PC with the XP cd-rom Setup disk, if you have
    one.

    Then, when you get to the screen with the following option appears:

    To repair a Windows XP installation using
    Recovery Console, press R.

    Then press [R] to launch the "Recovery Console".

    When confronted by a prompt asking for the administrator password - just
    Press [ENTER]

    After his start in RC - type the following command:

    Expand x:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll

    (where [x] is the letter of your cd drive)

    * NB If SP3 is installed - then the command that you type must be:

    Copy c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\hal.dll c:\windows\system32

    ... instead, because the files are of two different levels of review
    (versions).

    Then restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • my computer came with Windows XP and when I power on says to reinstall, although I have and Im still having the same problems.

    Well, it says to reinstall Windows XP. It was running real slow, sometimes does not connect to the internet. so I reinstalled. He said the same thing and now my anti-virus, and fire fox does not work well. Can you help me?

    Your description of your problem it seems rather you are infested with malware and a proxy server has been implemented. It is always sensitive in this situation to achieve a malware check.

    Start the computer in safe mode with network and download and install Malwarebytes (free version for individuals only), updated definitions and run in safe mode. Disable other security software while you do the analyses.

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

    Download and run SuperAntiSpyware (Free Edition)

    Some malware is installing the entries of proxy server redirecting internet connections. If you encounter this problem step 2 see in the following link:

    There is info in the above link to what you are talking about the comments.
    It would seem that install is the bestway out of it.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
  • I have recived portable computer of the Government with windows pre installed 7professional but now I want to format and reinstal it I require the startup disk and product key (my OS is authentic)
    I have recived portable computer of the Government with windows pre installed 7professional but now I want to format and reinstal it I require the startup disk and product key (my OS is authentic)
    If it's a copy of volume license installed, you will need to contact your employer to find the product key and get the installation files.
    If it is preinstalled at the factory with Windows 7 Professional, then use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7.
    New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
    This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
    For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
    For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
    For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
    For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
    For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
    For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
    For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
    For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
    Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
    Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".
  • I have a Dell computer that came with Windows XP Home edition. When I start my computer the monitoring of ERROR appears: RUNDLL error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll
    Error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll
    I have a Dell computer that came with Windows XP Home edition.  When I start my computer the monitoring of ERROR appears: RUNDLL error loading specified not found \3\DLBUtime.dll module
    I just click 'ok' and he goes, but, as for what it stop popping up everytime I start my computer.
    Can someone help me with this?
    Aprilm,
    You are LuLu5119, who posted a question last August?
    If this isn't the case, you should have started your own thread.  If so (and even if not), you should have responded to questions about Dell printers.
    Assuming that you complain of a "Error loading \3\DLBUtime.dll" message that appears when you start your computer, you should know that the DLBUtime.dll file probably has something to do with the software from Dell which has been partially deleted, but could also be indicative of malware as well as partially withdrawn.
    In both cases, the best way for start you to prevent the message at windows is to download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
    Install the Autoruns and let it complete the scan of your computer.  Then click on the "Connection" tab and uncheck the following entry:
    Look for an entry that has 'DLBUCATS' in the first column.  If you do not see that, look for "rundll32 \3\dlbutime.dll" in the last column ("path of the Image).
    Uncheck that entry, close Autoruns and restart your computer.  You should get is no longer the message.
    If for any reason, you find later that you need dlbutime.dll running, run Autoruns and check the box. If you decide that you need never again, run Autoruns, right-click on the entry and select Delete.
    As General precautionary measure, in case your entry dlbutime.dll was related to malicious software, rather than the Dell printing software, download the following free scanners:
    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware: http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware Portable: http://superantispyware.com/portablescanner.html
    For MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, download, install, update and run.
    For Portable SAS, follow the instructions on the Web page (note that the instructions assume that you use a different computer to download; if you're not, just make a note of the name of the file).
    Hi ctgreen
    Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
    You can try the following and link methods under each method for more information on the same and see if one of them solve the problem.
    Method 1: Start the computer in last good known Configuration
    1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
    Click the button start , click the arrow next to the button lock , then click on restart.
    1. Do one of the following:
    ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.
    1. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select last good known Configuration and press ENTER.
    2. If your computer has multiple operating systems installed, use the arrow keys to select the operating system that you want to start using the last good known Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows will then resume starting normally.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/using-last-known-good-configuration
    o If your computer has multiple operating systems, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode and press F8.
    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).
    4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.
    When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.
