  My computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday evening. The message indicates that the demand for window vista (which initially provided with the Lenovo computer, that I bought new in 2007) is not valid. When I rebooted and you press F5, it offers 3 options 'Security Mode', but no return explicitly beforehand updated status.

  I'm not familiar with uninstalling and restoring systems. Can you walk me through the process? Can I uninstall or restore when the computer is in mode security (limited capacity)? How a WAIK/Windows PE image downloaded to another computer to help me with the computer that is out?

  Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

  1. a System Restore to before the updates:

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

  If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

  If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

  Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

• Microsoft Vista Basic crashed after installing 12 updates!

  4 days ago my computer did an automatic update from microsoft, and it restarts itself. She has been reset every 30 seconds, and it seems stuck in a loop. My computer is Compaq Presario 500 with Vista Home Basic. I see loading windows (and it is cut with a blue screen (it flashes only, I can't read whats written on it), then Compaq symbol lights up, then it takes me to a page that says Windows error.)  My choices were safe mode, safe mode w networking or normal.  When I choose Safe mode, it me makes a loop to restart the screen... I get windows, quick blue screen, then, compaq, then, choice of start (normal, safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc..).  The work of the bios but return to default status does nothing - and when I hit save, it brings back me to the loop.

  I see the message: start/memtest. exe... status is 0xc000000d and shows the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or damaged.

  OK, here's the deal... the Dell laptop had a recurring software validation fixed an error that I couldn't keep. I would fix it, Vista should go out and update itself and then I would reboot and bang, back right to the error again, I decided to scrap Vista and install W7. HA! I'll just copy this download upgrade of the window on a USB key, hover over all my personal files on the usb drive, and reinstall Vista from the Dell partition, which I did. Then, I updated all the stuff with the Advisor to upgrade of windows, is gone in Windows 7 upgrade file I moved it to the USB and realized that this point in time, I was an asshole. What a breakthrough!  OK, now how to restart the upgrade process. I paid the money, done the downloads, message, so my hands, discussed and done all the other stuff I've done since the upgrade of Windows 3.1 (each time). Now what...

  Hi, I hope someone can help me with this.

  I have Vista running in my laptop and this morning reported a number of updates pending. I leave auto update to download and install all but other than IE8, I don't know what was there as I wasn't really paying attention. After restarting Windows will not load and I get the blue screen of death on the normal or safe mode. "Use the good last setting" option does not work and crashes and just Startup Repair tool brings back me to the option to run the tool or start Windows normally.

  I can not even in windows to do something and I don't know what I'm doing with Vista, so any help is appreciated.

  Try this:

  As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

  As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

  Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
