computer crashes when you open Control Panel

everytime I go to start Control Panel, Control Panel does not open and the computer crashes (that is, the cursor moves, but nothing can be opened). Must restart after a shutdown of the force.

Thanks this had just happened to me. Went just as you said.

And since it's an old installation on an old computer. I also watched the last file that was installed at this location, installs a single file and that's it. First of all, a first time.

Thank you

After starting my PC of operation Win 7 Pro (64 bit) every time I try to open the control panel for the first time, Windows Explorer stops responding forcing me to restart Windows Explorer. Once Windows Explorer restarts then Control Panel opens normally after that no matter how many times I open the Panel. Any ideas how to fix?

Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.
Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?

    Hello

    · Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

    · Who is the service pack installed?

You can follow the steps listed in the link below: cannot find the Rundll32.exe file when you open the control panel: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/812340

If any malware or virus detected on the computer activity, run also, check and online virus scan. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

NOTE: Make sure that you select the correct version of the operating system before downloading the scanner)

    Hi kathyd,.

    ·        You did changes to the computer before this problem started?

Since we do not know what is causing this problem, I'd suggest unanimous the event viewer on your computer and check the details in the window logs messages/error codes important related to the question, during the time where this problem occurs and after return.

Event logs can help you identify and diagnose the source of current system problems or help you predict potential system problems.

Access the link below to learn how to view and manage the event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308427

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/event_overview_01.mspx?mfr=true

You can try to start both computers in safe mode and check if it can open the folder where the MPEG 2 files are stored and if windows Explorer crashes. To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start in safe mode select and press to enter.

I hope this helps. Post back with the required information.

  • Captivate 6 crashes when you open the variable window

    Hello

I must say that I get pretty bored with how buggy Captivate 6 turns out to be. It seems to hang a large part of the time (when you open a project or after publication) and publishes often with lots of red boxes instead of my images (even when my high quality setting). Nevertheless, I can work around this problem by emptying the cache, restart my computer etc but I can't seem to get around this last bug!

For some reason, Captivate and keeps crashing when I try to open the variables window (via the menu at the top and through the window advanced actions). I tried emptying my cache and restarting my computer with no luck.

I also captivate 5.5 installed, so I tried to open the window of variables in this field and it worked well, but once again, captivate 6 frozen when I went back to try again.

Has anyone else had this problem before and there at - it a way to stop what is happening? I am running windows 7.

    Thanks in advance

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

Try to recreate the 6 Captivate preferences. Then launch Captivate 6 as it is run as an administrator

If the above suggestion does not work, then install 6 Captivate in a new admin account and test the bheavior of 6 Captivate.

    It may be useful

    Thanks and greetings

  • Firefox crashes when you open no matter what context menu - Save as download window, window options, etc.

This is the third time I had this problem with firefox...

Firefox crashes when you try to upload images, files, etc. right click context menu opens (with bookmark, save the page, save the image, options etc) but after selecting an option, save the image or another, the real save as dialog box does not open and firefox crashes.

say many pages open the download and clear history... I can't do that, trying to open the download hangs there, too. like, trying to open any what other dialogues.

the first time that this has happened, the only solution I could find was a total wipe and re-install (simple uninstall/reinstall didn't work... it had to be weeded manually in the registry).
the second time that I got just to rebuild my system, so I just do a fresh install on a fresh OS.

This time I can't seem to solve the problem of uninstalling and re - install...

    Help?

    discovered what he was doing!

After trying safe mode of firefox and safe mode of windows and any number of other things I gave a little upward for a bit there, but I woke up from a dream in the middle of the night thinking ' based on the conduct in question, it * must * be something in the shell that is the cause. " (Sorry, I dream of geek).

so I grabbed a shell viewer editor - ShelleExView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) (had to use a yucky, any browser to download) and gave him a race.

I have listed all the extensions of the date they were added as a clsid and trying of think back to when the problem started... about a month or so, after a new system, reinstall. and through a little trial and error disabling, I found the culprit.

It is an overlay Manager icon set by what is called WagerLogic. After looking into the company's name, I have to assume this was related to one of the annoying "just lost real money on our virtual casino" pop-ups that infest the net nefariously scenic for an easy mark as orphaned Dickens.

I disabled it and voila! Firefox is still in full function.

    Hi Mike,.

The cause of the accident is intelocl64.dll which is the file to Intel graphics card drivers.

Make sure that your graphics card drivers are updated.

If this does not help, follow these steps:

    • Quit Photoshop
    • Press windows and keys r to open the run window
    • Type w and press enter
    • Open Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC2015.5\Adobe Photoshop CC2015.5 settings
    • Move the sniffer file on desktop and relaunch Photoshop
    • Check that it works fine now

  • Windows Explorer Crash when using the control panel

This is the type of an interesting question that happens to me only sporadically and usually only to a cold start.

When I shut down the computer completely for cleaning or install something, when restarting, open the Control Panel causes Windows Explorer to crash (note that this is not Internet Explorer).

It restarts immediately, but I lost some of the icons in the taskbar - especially the icon Sound Max.

If I do a reboot it comes back and I can use the Control Panel normally. Tried to remove items from the start menu, as obviously something is in conflict when it starts but it is like shooting in the dark to find the good start. I even reinstalled W7 with a lot of attention, but it happens once again from time to time. I ran sfc/scannow several times and all is well.

As long as I don't do a cold reboot it will work very well for weeks without a hitch. (Please no comments about just don't).

Someone else has a similar problem? My specs are lower and it has not changed when I updated to the latest version of the bios so I suspect something on W7, and I strongly suspect the driver SoundMax which is in fact very old for W7X64.

All updates are underway, including the latest which was supposed to increase stability for W7 X 64. I had added this update 4/28. An accident 29/4 good. I uninstalled the update and re-installed directly from the microsoft link. Sometimes it works, but not in this case.

I studied all the information mentioned in the error codes and most of the time, it led to speculation of different people to different causes. I've read that it could be a conflict with the driver Sound Max, this is why I suspect as well that it might involve the Nvidia GPU driver. Changed the GPU driver and no joy. Whenever I have ask W7 to check a solution that is not found. So, it happens once in a while, but there is nothing wrong? At least Microsoft knows something is happening--evidence of the update.

    Hello

Make sure that Windows Update is turned on and install the update KB980408 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980408) - April 2010 stability and reliability update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is available .

Issues that this update fixes this update improves the stability and reliability of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 in various scenarios. This update addresses the following issues:

    • Windows Explorer crashes and then restarts when you access a third-party Control Panel item.

    This update solves the problem?

If this isn't the case, please download this reg from my SkyDrive file:
    http://CID-128fc518635be2dc.SkyDrive.live.com/self.aspx/.public/Ms%20Foren/registry/WER%5E_Explorer.reg

and double click on the file to import.

When Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service creates a dmp under C:\Localdumps . Please download the file to your public Skydrive folder and post the link here. I take to the dump, maybe I can see the cause.

  • Windows Explorer crashes when you open folders that contain pictures.

From this point, I'm exasperated!  Whenever I try to open a folder containing images, windows Explorer crashes.

I did a thorough check of the spyware.  I jumped through hoops attempting to clean the cache thumb and no joy.

When it first started happening, I thought it was too many files in a folder.  That does not seem to resolve things for a while, but the problem is back.

There may be too much data in the folder or the display on the screen.  You have pictures instead of icons in these records?  Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and check the box for display icons instead of thumbnails.  See if that solves the problem.

If this isn't the case, create a single image and save the file.  Create a folder in Windows Explorer and save the file to this folder.  Try to open this file.  You have the same problem or does it work?  If this works, there may be something true in what you said about the size of the files.  If she has the same problem, then you must do some serious troubleshooting to try to find the cause and fix.

I hope this helps. Keep me informed.

    Good luck!

  • XPS 13 end 2015 (9350) crashes when you open the saved first file

Was able to change smoothly until a few hours later when it just froze and I had to force close it. I manually installed the same drivers for my integrated graphics card, and it worked! I was able to open the file being saved properly. Then, a few rendering problems came with flashes randomly when I saw my calendar. Nothing damaging but boring. Now, I can't open my file more and when I do my computer crashes and I am forced to shut down. What can I do? Thank you!

OK, so I went and back up the Application error frame home, that I then finished its task in the Task Manager. Works fine now.

  • Photoshop CS3 crashes when you open any file

I'm having a problem with Photoshop CS3. The application starts successfully in its own, but as soon as I open a file any I immediately get the following message:

    Photoshop.exe - Application error

The instruction at "0x7c91b21" referenced memory at "0 x 000000010. The memory could not be "written".

    Then, the application closes.

Other applications Adobe, in the Suite work perfectly well. I tried to uninstall/reinstall the software and I still get the same error.

I tried the number of Support from Adobe, but they will not help because it's CS3. Would like to have 4 or 5, but it is not possible for me right now.

I also tried a quick search on google but answers/solution seemed to be everywhere, while I tried in vain a few.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. but not too much information here.

Chris has already written about changing the default printer.

Go in Control Panel of Windows (I don't see what operating system you have). Search for devices and printers or printers. If the printer you are printing to is configured as default printer change that to a different printer as MS XPS Document Writer and make this defect.

Close it and see if that fixes the problem. This is a real problem for a lot of questions.

All you have to do when you're ready to print from PS is to choose which printer to use when the print window opens.

  • Firefox crashes when you open new tab

    I tried:
Clean install (with the removal of C:prog... \Mozilla)
    Uninstallation and removal of extensions
Firefox restarted in safe mode without addons/extensions.
    Uninstalling/updating flash/adobe

Can I start firefox, but when I press on the "+" to open a new tab Firefox closes and the ' Mozilla Crash report ' window opens.
It seems that firefox it self can open a tab. For example, when I do a new installation, Firefox opens with 2 tabs.

But when I want to open one that it breaks down and Firefox stops. Its really weird because I've never run this kind of problem before and I don't remember installing anything new until this problem appeared.

What is the setting of the new tab page?

You can check the browser.newtab.url pref on the topic: config page.
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.
