  Whenever I try to open the files or create new files, the program crashes / freezes. I recently installed a new driver of LEXMARK printer and I found that this could be my problem. I started to remove printers drivers and preferences of adobe to solve half of my problem. CS3 is now blocking half the time when you create a new document and crashes everytime I try to open a document. Sometimes when I'm really able to start a new document, I can open documents, which is rather strange. I must be missing something to delete of what is the driver installed, or there must be something else I'm missing.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that did nothing. I created a new user account and tried to work the program in there, but it still crashes. Illustrator and InDesign work very well. I need immediate help to continue the work for the clients, please help as soon as possible. Thank you.

  Since us don't know not what the Lexmark driver leads to freezing, we do not know if reinstalling it reintroduced the problem or not.

  You should probably talk to Lexmark on the printer driver and the problems it poses.

  You can perform a scan SFC and check. To Perform a Scan SFC -

  a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow
  b. type the following command and press ENTER:
  sfc/scannow
  A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient because the scan can take some time.
  c. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue.
  d. If everything is correct you should, after the scan, see the following message "resource protection Windows not found any breach of integrity".
  e. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

  Delete the following folders in the preferences:

  (a) ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe /.

  (b) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/

  (c) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/

  (d) ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs

  (e) ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/

  Here ~ represents your home directory. Empty your trash, restart the computer and then start the Acrobat software.
