computer does not restart: it remains to press any key boot from CD

I'm having a similar problem as a posted last year, but I was wondering if there is a way to restart without the re-boot CD. don't really want to lose everything, but I have other options.  He has just arrested and handed over on me the other night and now when it opens I get the F2 or F10 but the bootable hard disk doesn't seem to work: it remains stuck on checking DMI Pool data, otherwise, it opens only with the list of PCI devices and downstairs, it says boot from CD.  Any help, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello

Put the hard drive first in the boot sequence. I recommend you contact the manufacturer of the computer.

Warning of the BIOS:
BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I hope this helps.

    Hello Gerry Walden,.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I know have a problem with the update of your Mac, it's not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to restart to complete the installation of a security update. Here is what I suggest to solve this problem and get your Mac works again correctly:

    1. use 'safe mode' to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, deletes files from the cache system verifies your startup disk and attempts to fix problems if necessary directory. Then test your question again.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning
Graphics performance limited in recovery of OS X or in safe mode

    2. If this does not help, start up your Mac in OS X Recovery mode and try running first emergency tool on your hard disk with the built in disk utility, allowing to correct simple issues that you are experiencing. Then restart normally and test your question again.

    Hello everyone.

I have an error message which said at the start:

"A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.  If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Make sure you have enough disk space.  If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check the manufacturerfor driver updates.  Try changing video cards.

    ... etc.

I believe that I have no space on my hard drive.  However, no matter what I do (start in safemode, or different modes), always this error message is displayed.

I tried to reinstall & this error message appeared.

How can I solve this problem?  I'm happy with deletion/wiping everything.  Does anyone know how?

  • Computer does not restart after the removal of volatile environment HKEY?

Summary: I was trying to remove a cluttered game persistent of my programs list title

so I'm in regedit (register edit) and tried to find (failure) and in the process, I deleted some other persistent games already removed under the registry 'Uninstall', but then I made clownish error after pressing a different register list of folders and what is called 'Unstable' deleted under current HKEY/user and then I could not access the Add/Remove programs of control panel list (he doesn't respond to my clicks) , and when I restarted the PC,.

I forgot to enter the normal restart and was still stuck at the start-up screen, also the Login usual words of greeting don't pop up, and only a few mojibake flashed on the screen for one second before letting me eternally stuck at the loading screen, so I guess that the deleted file was something important.  In addition, I can still acess the BIOS Setup Utility.I have the tool, make a HARD drive Diagnostic test but its takes time.

    Then... help please? : o

I'm typing this on a spare, slower computer Win7 btw

I didn't have a State previously saved for the restoration of the system, so it couldn't be used, other options?

Things are getting more and more difficult...

You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. You may reset your password to an earlier value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu.
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • Desktop computer does not display the computers on the network after waking from sleep.

Both computers work on Vista Home Basic. Problem started after computers, the router and a DSL modem has been turned off and unplugged. After the awakening of the day before, the Office would display only the router and the laptop, but the way that he could not establish. Initially, a reboot of the desktop computer has solved the problem.

Reset and re-installed the router. The three elements of the network were visible after the start, but IE 8 soon at the opening of the homepage. Again, after "standby" mode, only the router and the laptop displayed.

After additional restart, only the router is displayed. The laptop shows all three elements and accessing office files.

    Suggestions?

    Hi Syed,

I did a full reset/reinstall the router, carefully following the manufacturer's instructions. Both computers are displayed in each of their respective lists of network, even after waking up from sleep mode.

    This issue is resolved.

  • El Capitan does not restart while updating

El Capitan 10.11.3 trying to reboot the system to install 10.11.4. It closes all applications, there is only the trash and Finder icons in the Dock, but nothing happens.

It is an opportunity to update to OS X without completely reinstalling the system? And why this is happening?

    Hi there bibimij,

It seems that you install the 10.11.4 updated, but the computer does not restart on its own. There could be several reasons for something like that happening, but I'd first leave applications running when you run the update because there might be an application taking upward. If you are not sure whether or not you have closed them all, you can use Force Quit to quit any programs that may be running.

Force a nearby application on your Mac.

If this does not help, then I would then reset your PRAM:

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac.

Test the issue once this has been reset. If she keeps going on although I would then start in safe mode so that some at the system level and hiding the kernel, as well as perform a disk check and repair if necessary.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Then exit the safe mode with a normal restart and test once more. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

  • Computer does not start after running the utility Boot Lenovo.

    Hello
I replaced the power supply with a CX550M of Corsair, increased memory by exchanging the 4 GB to 8 GB for a 16 GB total, I added a hybrid 2 TB Seagate HDD and all worked fine until yesterday, about 1 month.
Yesterday, I decided to run all the tests of the Lenovo startup disk and after that I restarted, the computer does not start.
When I press the power button, the fan starts and it stops after 3 or 4 seconds and nothing happens, the monitor says no signal, I removed the external USB disk and printer, I reoved the second drive and the same thing heppens.
Any idea what this problem could be? Would it be a bad power supply?
    Thank you
