computer does not work properly after the update, because the screen is black.

Advice please! :-(

After an update there about 2 months, my computer has never worked properly after that I turned it back. My windows start page is longer there. My screen is black. The words are only in white and fluorescent yellow...

The only way I can go online to find Norton (is always at the bottom of the black screen) and go to help. I can get a search bar like that. Almost as if this black screen hides everything below.  Computer is 13 months old.

My internet provider says it isn't them. Gateway said it's not my computer so idk what happened after this update.

Any advice would be so appreciated.

  1. You have installed the latest drivers for Windows 8?
  2. What is the model number for Gateway computer?

If you get a black screen after upgrade to Windows 8, it might be due to an outdated or incompatible graphics card driver. Update to the latest version of the display driver should fix this.

Try to remove all external devices connected to the computer and then try to start the computer and check if it works. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: To resolve this problem, update the Gateway website. video card driver

    I suggest you to check if the keyboard and mouse work will find in safe mode. Follow the steps that will help you perform the following checks:

    Method 1

    a. restart the computer.
    b. start typing the F8 key.
    c. you get early boot option window.

    After the entry into SafeMode Log in your user account and check if the keyboard and mouse are working.

    My sound card has been disabled when I install an automatic update for windows. There was an extra audio driver in Device Manager 'bluetooth AV audio' and audio peripheral anoither like this. After installation there is no sound coming out if my sound card was on the list of Device Manager.     Yesterday, I upgraded my poynt app, which seems to have causes all types of problems with my phone.

    (1) my email account icons have all disappeared, although it recognizes new messages, I can't access it.

    (2) the device does not allow me to access my texts all the time as well, and I get errors such as:

    Eception exception: application_net_rim_bb_message_app (231) does not.  I had the same message with several different numbers.

    I also have java.null messages, even if it is rare and I don't remember the exact error.

    (3) desktop manager cannot access the device, it does not allow me to backup my data.

    (4) I tried to reload the os, and applications but it fails because it cannot back up data...

    I'm lost and can't seem to find help on the net for this, and at this point, I want to just wipe the slate and start over from scratch.  Maybe completely reload the software or something.  I have most of my contact information on my sim card from my previous phone, data loss would be minimal...

  • Thunderbird does not work properly after copying old content profile in the new profile, what can I do

    My old laptop crashed, but fortunately I got the hard drive out, who now works as an external drive. I installed TB on my new laptop computer.     When I search the AppData/Roaming/profiles I'll find it (on the old and the new hard disk as well) but I can not navigate on him (some parents of hidden file)? I checked the rights on the files of my account profile (Administrator rights). I don't know what to do more, so I hope to help.

    OK, well... I'm not a computer scientist, but I have a bit of trouble on my hands and I don't know where to go for the right help, so I came here.

    I can't restore the old BIOS would set the screen resolution, but I'm just helpless as to how I go about it. I find the file, but I have no way to open/run it

    I've had this laptop for about 2 years now, I know probably just getting old and a bit tempermental, but if theres no way you people out there can help, I would much apreciate it :)

    I Don t think the biosupdate is the reason for the reduced screen. It does not sound like a software thing, but rather a hardware malfunction.

    Is your normal screen during startup? If so, I'd say just remove your existing display drivers and install the new. But if it s like you described then it must be a hardware problem and the machine should be checked by a technician or at least a service partner.

    Would be better if your bring your machine to an ASP for a checkup of material.

  • PP 2015.3 Edit to tape function suddenly not working properly after the update

    I have maybe in a small percentage. I have grown to love PP and have been using it for controlling certain emissions tape HDSR. I think I went from 2015.0 a.3. The reading seems to have suffered in this update. I get now loss of images of PP did not keep in touch with the reading. So put together it on tape fails and insertion don't will go not to the point where there was a framework has fallen.

    There are a few other issues that are easy to manage, but tried to go through telephone support on this issue.

    -Insert video or audio over half the time after insertion is finished, PP gets stuck. The Strip was inserted but the glass remains and to pass to the next punch that I have to cancel the dialog box.

    -PP will are not more than 8 channels of audio. -Final Cut 7 can arm all12, available on our SONY SRW-5800.

    -After the 2015.3 update the PP would go through the motions of insertion on the Strip, but it would not actually insert audio, so if I was not paying attention you'd think they had set just a note QC. But no! PP just doesn't work. This problem has been resolved by removing the preference PP folder in My Documents on Mac OS X.

    So my main problem still remains that reading is basic and is no longer usable for laybacks professional Ribbon. I had to go back to Final Cut 7 and snap a simple 422HQ to tape. There must be something that I am missing, but the time allotted to me to troubleshoot this with time etc etc is limited. What could have changed in the update for the functions to change the band which makes it unusable now?

    I want to really just to install the old version, but phone support wasn't helping me with that and said I couldn't.

    Adobe must have heard our complaints.  The new update of PP 2015.4 seems to have resolved most of the questions that we take.  I always have a random frame dropped here and there.  Export to tape option is viable again in PP 2015.4.  I'm under PP 2015.4 with the latest drivers from the AJA.
