computer guard install an update while turning off

When I turn off my computer, Windows is to install an update, but it retains "installation", for hours, the computer is not turned off. Problem: I can not turn off my computer properly, unless I use the "start/stop" - button and I can't install the update. These two problems cause my computer runs much more slowly.

Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

If you could answer a few questions that would help us resolve this problem:
1. What is the number of KB updates?
2. do you get an error message?
3. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

You can access the interface from Windows Update Update by typing in the search box of the "Start" menu, then on "Windows Update" in the results.

Here are some ways you can follow to resolve the problem:

Method 1:
Reset windows update components and then try to install the updates and see if the installation is complete. Open the link below and click on the cue, he touches.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Back up your files before you begin reinstalling Windows 7 if possible, even if you have reinstalled Windows 7 on a hard disk partition, and you have personal files on another partition. For example, if you have encrypted files, you will not be able to access them after reinstalling Windows. A custom installation replaces the current version of Windows 7 and all personal files.

I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 stuck on update "restart your computer to install important updates"

Yesterday by mistake I upgraded Windows 7 to 10.  After watching 10 hours, I returned to 7.  System check updates to day and put some apparently and followed with "Restart your computer to install important updates" - which cannot be updated while the system is using them.  All that seems fair enough.  However, the same reboot message was received after several reboots (including cold boots).  Cannot restore to last good config - probably due to their loss in the upgrade.  FixIt MS and solving problems of updating has not solved the problem.  Is there a switch somewhere that I can reset?  Help please.

  • Safety poster Windows automatic updates is turned off, but they are on

original title; Problems with automatic updates. Help, please.

Security alerts Windows keeps advising me that I have automatic updates turned off even if I turned them on in the system menu. Security Center said, however, that they are turned off and fails to address the problem. I tried to run windows repair, but it has encountered an unexpected error and could not continue. I'm afraid that I have some types of malware on my computer and there is a security risk.

    Hi, Thatreallyawesomeguylololol,

Start in safe mode with network.  Turn off the system restore to ensure that no malware hides in the restore points.

Download the tool from Microsoft.  Run a full scan.

Once you have determined, there is no malware or malicious software has been quarantined or deleted from your system, run the System File Checker.

Right-click on the command prompt window and select run as administrator

    Type the following command:

    SFC/scannow

    Press enter

Note: There is a space between SFC and / scannow

    Press start > run

    Type %windir%\Logs\CBS

    Press Ok

Search for can't fix... and note files SFC is unable to repair (if applicable)

Right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator

    Type the following command:

    CHKDSK /F /R

    Press enter

You will receive a message about the disk must be locked.  When asked if you want to scan on reboot, press on Y and press enter

    Restart the computer

The scan takes a few minutes and once completed, once the computer restarts, open the event viewer > Windows > application log. Look for Winninet to see the results of the analysis.

  • HP laptop G72: Battery only charge while turned off.

Hello, employees and others on the forum, I have a problem with my laptop currently battery. Are examples.

-Does not load when turned on, but cool when turned off.
-Port charger LED flashes between orange and white when it is off. (Although, when turned on the orange blink.)

I tried the method of discharge. (Disconnect the battery and Charger AC/DC, hold the power button / stop for about 30 seconds, then plug the battery back in and re-clogging the AC charger.) I had a problem with other methods, like I can't turn on the computer without the battery. I actually had this for 4 years and the warranty is already dissipated and it still works very well, except for the battery, so I don't want to lose, so if you could help me fix my laptop, that would be great! Thanks in advance if the problem is resolved.

4 years is about the max for laptop battery life. However, it should run/work with even without battery. You seem to have a defective power adapter - they wear out too.

Get your full model number or product and use it here to find the model of necessary power for your laptop adapter. Even if they don't have in stock, you should be able to find a way... Amazon, eBay, etc.

    Hi Cbarton1978,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site.

    ·         What is the error message or the error code that you get when you try to connect to the internet?

    ·         What is the operating system installed on the computer?

    Try the following steps:

First of all, I suggest that you run a network on the computer Diagnostic tool and check if that could help connect you to the internet.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Network and Internet

Please let us know which are updates that cause the failure of network.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8615: Computer thinks that the printer is turned off

My computer does not see the printer as being on.  I have the printer connected wireless, but the computer shows it as offline.  When I run the troubleshooter, it tells me to turn on the printer (it's on).  I can scan a document and sends it to the computer but I can not print from the computer to the printer.  I think it's maybe a problem of Windows 10 but I'm not sure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I also ran a test network through the printer and everything this past.  Don't know what to do from here.

I've updated but that does not solve the problem.

Finish by uninstalling the printer software and reload the drivers.  This seems to have taken care of the issue.  So far so good.

I think that the combination of the upate and reload the drivers solved.

  • Download updates and turn off

It seems every other day or so, if I look at my Start button, there is a flag and the note 'download' updates and stop.  Sometimes, I would like to know what are the updates, most of the time I'm not particularly excited about stopping.  When I click, it always says something like "update, do not close or disconnect.  "Download 1 of 21 updates... etc.  It seems that its updates always 21, several times a week.  Can it actually be that many updates?  Why always 21?  Is it always the same 21, but there is indeed an applicator of failure and really not take updated the last time?  I'm on Build 6, SP2, Vista.  Y at - it somewhere that I can go see those updates in a dated list so I can check that they are actually downloading and installing?
Control Panel of configuration/security/windows update/view history update, the list shows dozens and dozens of attempts updates, for most successful before mid-December ' 09, and almost exclusively chess after then, with error code 80070490.
On www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/...etc, there is a list long and painful things to do to repair the engine update or reinstall Vista.  I don't really do either, it comes to my work computer, don't want a lot of downtime.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
