computer is connected to the airport, but nothing else does

My time capsule airport is plugged in and the light is green.  My iMac is connected to the network via wifi without problem, but nothing else will connect.  My iPhone and apple TV to see the network to connect to, but when I select keep just try and custom actually connect.

We just moved and the internet was created just to our new home, but nothing has changed.

What is the number and model of your modem?

When you set up the new Internet service, you you connected your iMac directly the modem?  If you did, it's probably the problem.

What operating system runs the iMac?  If you are not sure, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen and click on in respect of this Mac, then poster is back with Version of OS X number that you see there.

  • PC connected to the airport but no internet

List Dear members, I'll put up a new wifi network in my laboratory using an airport Time Capsule 3 to (802.11ac). All Macs here are correctly attached to the base of the airport and have full internet access. However, two laptops with Windows 7 and 8.1 are connected to the airport base, but do not have access to the internet. The airport is configured with a fixed IP address from my DHCP router mode University. Could you please help me solve this problem? Thank you.

First ping computer test windows laptop in a DOS command window.

Ping the DNS servers of the University System. Ping Google's Public DNS servers. IE 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    Tell us what is happening.

If you can ping the google DNS, which is usually a good indication that the PC has got the wrong DNS values. So just use manual DNS Configuration in the laptop.

If you cannot ping out of the United system but are ok internally you question gateway... Again check the IP of the bridge against the value Macs are gettings.

  • Devices to connect to the airport, but not to the Internet

    Hi all; Here's my situation:

I just bought a new Airport Extreme to replace my old router (Linksys). In our House, we have two iPhones 6, as well as the iPad, Apple TV and MacBook Pro that were all bought again this year. All these things were able to connect to the internet using our old wireless router.

As I have configured and installed at the airport, various devices have been able to connect without being able to connect to the internet (i.e. AirPort Utility, the airport connection is a green dot, while the actual internet connection is an orange): first it was the MacBook having this problem while the phones and the iPad have been completely connected. After I simply rebooted everything several times - i.e. the modem, router, and MacBook - I finally got the MacBook fully connected (without really changing all the settings, which are all entered correctly). Now, however, it is the two iPhones that will connect the airport but not actually in the internet.

Any ideas? I must say, these strange little problems idiopathic who seem to always pop up with Apple products are starting to really bother me... I never got my MacBook to connect to the Apple TV via AirPlay.

Any time you change the material or providers of Internet services, networking, it's always a good idea to perform a complete recycling of your network equipment power. Check out the following Tip of an airport users for more details on how to do it. Please post back your results.

  • Connected to the Internet, but nothing to anyone.

We just got Internet AT & T working last night, and I was on the Internet. I did an update iTunes, restarted my computer and now it says it's connected, but nothing does not load on any of my browsers and it just acts like its not connected. I tried things I found via google, but nothing has worked yet. Help please :) all computers work and as a result my wifi phone. I'm on xp. Chrome says impossible to resolve the address of the DNS server. I realized that he might have something to do with the period of investigation, but I don't know that I do things properly when it comes to this. I did the update, reset recommendations and nothing has worked yet.

    Please and thank you!

I ended up solving myself. There is no DNS suffix listed, apparently that's all that I needed.

  • Windows 7 Dell computer laptop connects to the router, but the internet connection is spotty/slow

I recently installed a new Comcast wireless gateway, which includes a built-in router.  My Ipod and Ipad work perfectly with this new router connection.  My Dell laptop, however, connects to the router without a problem, but it surfing the internet very slowly and sometimes can't access it at all.  The router connection remains strong during these periods of power failure, however.  I don't get online no problem when I connect directly to the router/modem with an Ethernet cable.  Network troubleshooting does not detect a problem, I have released/updated my IP address, and made sure I had updated drivers.  The issue still [persists.  Any input on what to try next?

    Hello Scot,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

The description of the problem, I see that the Internet connection is very slow on the computer.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. We are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

Maybe there's a chance that some network settings, start services application or a third party or a security software restricted it to connect properly and is responsible for the internet connection is slow.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and see if it helps.

    Method 1

I suggest you try the procedure described in the following Microsoft Article and check if it helps.

Internet Explorer is slow? 5 things to try
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/Internet-Explorer/slow-five-tips-to-boost-performance

Warning: Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.

    Method 2

If the problem persists, I suggest you to follow the steps described in the following Microsoft tutorial and see if it helps.

    Wireless and wired network problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/network-connection-problem-help#network-problems=Windows-7&V1H=win81tab1&V2H=win7tab1&V3H=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1

Why is my Internet connection so slow?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/why-Internet-connection-slow#why-Internet-connection-slow=Windows-7

    Method 3

If after performing more high question method persist, try to perform the clean boot and temporarily disable security software and then check the speed of the Internet.

Step 1: Perform the clean boot

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: See "How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Step 2: Temporarily disable security software.

    Disable the antivirus

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

    Method 4

Since then, the issue is not resolved by disabling the security software, Windows Firewall could be the next possibility. So, I suggest, temporarily, disable the Windows Firewall and check if the problem persists.

    Refer to the following steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R, type firewall.cpl , and press ENTER.
    2. Click turn Windows Firewall on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. Click turn off (not recommended) Windows Firewall under each network location that you want to stop trying to protect, and then click OK.

    Caution:

You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall is enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers. You must reactivate as soon as you have completed troubleshooting.

For more details, you can see the article mentioned below.

    Enable or disable Windows Firewall

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Kind regards

    Hi dougmack,

    1. What happens when you try to connect using Internet explorer?
    2. What is the type of internet connection you use?
    3. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    4. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

Check if the problem persists in mode safe mode with networking mode.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Method 2

If the problem does not persist in mode safe mode with networking mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. Click Start , and then click run.
    2. Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.
    3. Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

  • Windows applications do not connect to the internet, but everything else will be

As stated above, I can't use the internet with windows applications, but desktop applications, including browsers, connect to internet, very well.

I have had this problem since I bought the laptop in 2012. I just did an update of the system because of other problems, and later, it seemed that the apps were able to access the internet for a short period because current reports have been added to the live feed in the start menu.

A lot of people online had this problem as a result of something to do with windows update, and it would be logical to me since the update of windows startup download new software immediately after the update. However, I am not sure that this is the cause.

This will also prevent me to upgrade to windows 8.1, which is really a pain

I found the following online; of all ways recommended fixing, it's the only thing that still makes the temporary difference. Completed steps momentarily my internet apps access allowed, somewhere around the stage in which I turned on and outside airplane mode. However, it is not an internet connection supported; It connects just for a moment. I know it connects because news will update after the he and the map in the maps application will suddenly charge if I opened it and zoomed to a stain blurred everything by following the steps.

    -

    Open Internet explorer
Open in typing (Windows + R keys) command prompt and then type "cmd" followed by ENTER
    Type: "ipconfig/release".
Move your mouse to the right of the screen to see the charms of windows
    Select "settings".
Select the network icon left corner diagonal to the power button icon
    Select 'Air plane Mode' commissioning
Toggle new airplane (Set Off) mode
    Select a wireless network

    -

I appreciate any help with this, it would be nice to find this live connection computer. Because it connects temporarily, I know that this is not a problem with the hardware, but rather something in the windows that continues to hurt work even after the system update.

    -Dylan

Hey, I just downloaded McAfee software removal tool to completely remove their program (which comes with windows) after you have uninstalled it.

    He made the apps work!

Thank you very much for the help. I'm relieved, it was something as simple as that.

  • Computer will not start. Displays F3..., can go together to the top, but nothing else

I have a MSi U100 running Windows XP Home SP3. After the last successful stop, the machine starts but just displays F3 on the screen, windows is not booting. I've tried rebooting and pressing F8 etc.; to enter safe mode, all I get is a screen with F3... appears. The machine has no CD / DVD drive. I WD have NOrton 360 a / v installed and it may have expired while I was not using the laptop (not been used for 6 weeks). I tried to remove the battery for 30 minutes, same result. All possible solutions? (I don't have the disc XP Home with me as I work away from my country of origin for a few weeks!

    Hello

    ·         What are the options made F3 gives on the computer?

I suggest you follow the methods mentioned below:

    Method 1:

Activate the hard disk and set hard as 1st priority to boot in the BIOS driver and check if the problem persists.

Note: changes to the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Method 2:

Check if the hard drive is detected in the BIOS.

Note: If you are not not to check the BIOS. I suggest you to contact MSi U100 to get help at startup in the BIOS.

  • When reading emails, said TB connected to the server, but is not download emails

The following suddenly started happening. (Things are working very well for several months on the same account settings).

When I try to retrieve the email from my IMAP e-mail server, there is a message at the bottom that says that Thunderbird is connected to the server, but nothing happens thereafter - no emails are downloaded.
Thunderbird invites me even a password to connect to the IMAP server as it usually does.

However, note that I * can * send emails without problem (via the configured SMTP server).
As well, I have no problem reading the emails on the server even on other customers of emails with same account settings.

The problem started after I upgraded to Thunderbird 38.2.0, an earlier version of a few months back).
Thunderbird prompted me to do the upgrade, and it can have kicked so he was still connecting and authenticating to the IMAP server - which is just speculate offshore.

Any ideas what I can do?

Details of the platform: Thunderbird 38.2.0, Windows 7 x 64, entering via the SSL Protocol IMAP, SMTP outgoing via the SSL protocol

  • Windows 8 says it is connected to the Internet, but none of the browsers can access a Web site.

Windows 8 worked well without problems.  So I think some updates were automatically installed and now none of the 3 browsers work.  Network utilities show always the computer is connected to the internet, but the speed tests it does not at all.  Our other computer with Windows 8 ceased to be able to access the internet at the same time.

I tried to restore to a previous restore point, but it is still not possible to access the internet.

    Thank you!

After making back all Microsoft updates and spend 4 hours on the line with the support of Microsoft, we have reduced to eSet having a service that forbade access to the internet, even if we have disabled the firewall.  Stopping this service restored internet access.

eSet has been marked as compatible on different Web sites, but check on eSet they revealed there are questions.

Initially things worked but eSet must have updated something that caused problems.
