    Yes, I agree that you'll want to contact Sony about this. However, if the only problem with the laptop is not able to connect, then you have a recovery disk.

    The first thing we do is to ensure that you have all necessary drivers installed on the laptop. Again, this is something you can find at the Sony support site.

    Because this laptop is not able to get online, then you will probably need to use another PC to go on the support site. Be sure to insert the appropriate for the Vaio model number and download all drivers in system on a flash drive, or other portable storage unit.     This problem can occur if authentication enable IEEE 802. 1 X for this network checkbox is enabled. If this box is checked, but there is no server to authenticate the connection is interrupted. If you turn on the wireless network connection, it disconnects again after a short period. This problem can also occur if Wi - Fi drivers are not updated properly, or due to changes in the network settings.

    Try these methods below and check.

    Method 1: run it Troubleshooting Internet connection problems.

    Try to run the Internet Connection Troubleshooter that can help you solve the problems with the internet connection.

    1. Check if the hard drive is listed in the BIOS. Restart the computer > key 'F2 '.

    3. If the hard drive is not listed, the problem may be related with the material. Reset the BIOS once.

    1. you get any error message?

    2 have you tried using different USB ports?

    3. any other USB key works on the computer in question?

    4. do the USB works on any other computer?

    5 have had any changes made to the computer before the show?

    Please follow the methods.

    Method 1:

    Run the Microsoft fixit for the link.

    Method 2:

    As all devices have same also have USB device associated drivers. Appropriate sometimes drivers not detected after initial installation so reinstalling the drivers can fix the problems.

    You can check after uninstalling and reinstalling USB drivers if you are able to connect. You can disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

    (a) click Startand then click Control Panel.

    (b) click system and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.

    (c) Note if the control panel is in Classic view, double-click Systemand then click on Device Manager.

    (d) If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

    (e) in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
    Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

    (f) repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

    Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

    WELL, after days of looking for a specific response from VAIO, finally I came with a solution for VAIO users whose computer is equipped with a receiver to blue tooth ATHEROS.

    1 - type "regedit" in Start-Run menu to open your registry database.
    2 - navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATHEROS\VistaAddOn\KBNotify
    3. - the value of '0 '.
    Close regedit, restart your computer and you're done.
    Be careful not to change anything else in your registry, unless you know what you're doing.
    FIND THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION TOOK ME SEVERAL HOURS, SHAME ON MICROSOFT AND SONY, IT IS THE MOST STUPIDEST USELESS FILM THAT I HAVE EVER MET.
    If your bluetooth receiver isn't ATHEROS, simply look for the brand name of your receiver instead of 'ATHEROS' and look for a similar register, it may look like 'BTTray', 'BTNotify' or similar.

    He'll find a network.  It doesn't let me access the network files.  It does not connect to the internet, but it's getting an IP address.  DNS does not, even if it has the IP of the router listed as a DNS server.

    I disabled IPv6 based on other peoples problems, but it doesn't seem to help.  I tried to update the driver for the CARD, but it doesn't seem to help.   I'll try update driver video, to see if it helped, but the pilot was not available on the main site (Radeon 5470) and I don't know how it would be useful anyway.

    Diagnose Windows said try restarting the router, which I did, but it did not help.  If I skip this step, said diagnosis "the default gateway is not available."

    There is also a tunnel of the card, even after disabling IPv6.  I don't know if this is normal or not.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    What router are you using? You can turn off proxy DNS? If this is not
    possible, you should be able to get the IP addresses of the DNS servers of your ISP
    and configure those statically. The use of routers IP means that the router is
    Proxy DNS. Looks like proxy DNS does not work.

    Method 1: Enable adaptive brightness and see if brightness improves:
     
    1. press Windows + X key together on the keyboard button.
    2. Select Control Panel.
    3. click on power under Control Panel Options.
    4. Select the settings of under balanced plan.
    5. click on change advanced power settings.
    6 expand the view.
    7. turn on the Enable Adaptive brightness.
     
    If this method does not improve the brightness of the screen, turn off Adaptive brightness allow once again.
     
    Method 2: If you still face the question, I suggest to download graphics drivers on the manufacturer's Web site and follow the link below and install the drivers of graphics card in compatibility mode.

    My HP Pavilion dm1 is not connecting to the internet.  I know it's a older laptop (I bought it in 2011) but everything has worked very well so far.  It shows my network is available and I was able to access the internet from my phone to my roommate, but my laptop does not connect.  I have tried all the usual stuff... rebooted the laptop several times, ran troubleshooting, unplugged the router and the modem.  I noticed it happened after I installed an update of Windows, so I uninstalled the updates and still no luck.  What should I try next?

    I recently got a HP Pavillion Entertainment, model number dv7 - 3188cl, for me to use for a class at the school by my uncle. Before the recovery, everything worked perfectly well. My uncle asked me to reset the computer, so we used the recovery disks that wiped the hard drive successfully but then refuses to reinstall the operating system. Instead of getting another set of recovery disks that I've used a Windows 7 install disc to reinstall the OS and he did so successfully with one flaw, the laptop does not connect to the internet.

    I tried to connect via ethernet and it does not find my WiFi network. I suspect his lack a driver and checked for drivers on the HP site but he said that there is none. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and if there is no driver for this I would be grateful if you could tell me where to download from.
