computer locked me out of everything

When I turned on, computer screen said something like COMPUTER LOCK YOU OUT. The unit is on but the screen is dark.

Thanks for the info on the function keys. Regarding the original issue, it was solved: by pressing the power button for 10 seconds, the computer rebooted and everything's fine. I learned something new today. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the comments. Your original statement "when I lit" actually mislead me. You do not light - you woke from sleep mode.

I recommend that you only use this event as an incentive to find out how to start the computer in Mode safe mode with F8. Sooner or later you will need this knowledge.

    Hello
I suggest you to see these steps:

    • Press right on your mouse button when your desktop is visible. A menu will appear.
    • Move your mouse to the bottom of the menu and click on the word "Properties".
    • Look at the tabs under the marked blue title bar "display properties". You should be able to see one marked "screen saver". Click the screen saver tab once. You should now see a small monitor.
    • Look for the dropdown next to the marked buttons 'Settings' and 'Preview '. Click on the arrow down on the right side of the menu drop down.
    • Look at the list of available screensavers. The first menu is marked '(none) '. Click on this title. Once you have clicked on the title, the "Apply" button will become operational.
    • Click on the button apply. Close the display properties window and the Control Panel window. You have now properly disabled your screen saver.

Ideas: computer locked out, says incorrect password, haven't changed the password.

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

These things don't happen by themselves. Once you're in the system, do a thorough analysis of the malware.

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

  • I locked myself out of my laptop

I moved about 6 weeks ago and you have not used my laptop at the moment.  I got finially service and don't remember my password to get on computer.  I've tried everything.  I took out my old laptop to ask for help.

    Hello

About the laptop that you forgot the password, because, if you use to sign him with an email and password, the Microsoft link in my previous post will allow you to reset the password (as long as you don't forget the associated email) using another PC.

If you use to sign up with a local account, just use another PC to create the reset utility linked in my previous post, and once completed, start Notepad, you are blocked on disk/flash player and follow the instructions to reset the password.

Another solution would be to just reset the machine to its factory condition - the three main ways to do this are detailed in the document at the link below.

  • How can I you people lock users out of planning when you run jobs ODI?

Is there a way to lock planning users, by running a file of DOS commands? Currently, I have to go manually in the Admin menu planning-> Application-> settings allow one owner to connect.
I could write the script for updating a flag in the database repository indicator, BUT it would also require planning web app restart to follow.
How can I you people lock users out of planning when you run jobs ODI to load data in Planning/Essbase app?

I usually try and plan everything built out of opening hours. I agree it would be nice if there is a utility to change the status of the planning application.

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 64 - bit Edition

You must specify a linker flag this option in the header of the image of fs9.exe because FS9 is a 32-bit application and use 2 GB of virtual address space.
With the indicator largeaddressaware under your 64 bit OS, it is possible for FS9 to use up to 4 GB of address space.
Get the SBB Explorer (http://ntcore.com/exsuite.php) open fs9.exe, header to open the file then click on 'Click here' and mark "App can handle > 2 GB addresset", save and close fs9.exe.

  • Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to initialize the store directory. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Error code: 0 x 80007114

Operating system Windows XP, at startup, I get the message: "Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to initialize the store directory. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full"and displays the error code: 0 x 80007114.  (I have a new drive hard with enough space) Outlook Express always open well and functioning normally.  The message mentions and how to fix the problem?  Thank you, Rick

Jump here (nothing Bruce suggested is false), I did a search and found this old article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245419), which indicates that there is a bad entry under the identity key in the registry (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background).  So if it's a big problem, you can do the steps suggested in this article and that will fix it.  Or if you have just one account, then backup your settings and the identity key and then delete the identity key and then start OE and it will establish a new, and you can then set up your account again, and then import the messages from the older directory.  But it does not indicate the major corruption, so you can just ignore it.

It would be an understatement to say that it makes me crazy.  I had to copy the l and paste whenever necessary!

Any help would be much appreciated
