  • WRT160N LOSES INTERNET CONNECTIVITY

I have a wrt160n connected to a Motorola ATT DSL Modem.I only have intermittent internet connectivity. He worked awhile then lose internet connectivity on my XP computer plugged directly on the router, as well as on my laptop vista home wireless. I worked twice with the Linksys support and followed their suggestions of reconfiguration, but the problem persists. The modem ip address is 192.168.1.254. Linksys said to change the default address of the router to 10.10.1.1... I did, but it didn't fix it. Some of the messages on the forum said to change it to 192.168.2.1. I tried and still intermitttent only connectivity. I can bypass the router and go directly to xp destop and it runs rock solid, so the problem is somewhere in the settings of the router. I'm about to renounce it and sell it on ebay and buy an ATT modem/router combo. The Ant is my last resort. Another thing, I downloaded and installed the latest version of the firmware 2.0.02 11.

I'm under the router with DHCP. I use my own SSID with personal WPA2, AES encryption. Linksys support had me change the standard channel to 2,452 GHZ and disable any filtering of the internet. Now, I use an IP from 192.168.2.1.

I am courious to see if anyone has had this router to work on a DSL ATT modem. Also, anyone have any suggestions on where I go from here?

    Thank you

If you have version V2 of this router, you can downgrade the firmware.  See here:

  • How can I remove the "crumbs" of an uninstalled spyware that brought me to lose internet connectivity?

This problem is not specific to Vista. Last year, I bought a new laptop of Dell Studio with XP SP3 installed. Everything worked very well; but was my former spyware removal software is more of his work. I could tell my internet experience slowed but the program did not come with any spyware/malware to remove. So, I went back to a program that I used about 5 years that seems to work for us: Stopzilla. I could tell immediately something was wrong, because while the program seems to work fine while I was online, when I tried to use it to search for existing infections stagnant 1% fine and would never go any further.

I tried an uninstall. The function of "uninstall a program" Windows would not be set up Stopzilla for uninstall. Of course, I was in trouble. Used another 3rd part of the program of cleaning of registry problems, etc., but it also uninstalled programs. Apparently, not good enough. I then did a "search" for all the files/folder (hidden or not) that had attached to it Stopzilla and remove results. Still nothing.

As I've studied how to remedy this problem, I found many references to lose internet connectivity wireless due to the remains of these types of programs related to system functions.

I did all the basics: checked the connection itself, checked my network settings, check the configuration of the router, ping the ip address, renew the ip address, checked the DNS server address, etc, etc.  Even gone beyond that and used the ip address 'reinstall' difficulty and even tried track things directly through the registry. Nothing. Still unable to connect to the internet using ANY browser and can only use it locally.

I am about to take the computer to a PC clinic but really won't be without the phone for days because of a major project deadline.  Is there anything I can do to get my wireless connection working again?

    Thank you - gstrumberger

STOPzilla says on its site that its compatible with win98 through win 7, which could lead me to suspect its validity, and since you were unable to uninstall it, well...
I suppose you have a restore point for a period prior to installation?
And if not how comfortable you are with the registry change?

  • How to download and install on another computer without internet connection?

I have an old computer with windows XP Home Edition. How to download and install on another computer without internet connection?  Files such as DirectX, real player, Media Player.  What I find it just download and install the file must then go to the internet.

The following site may be worth a visit:

    Microsoft Download Center
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/Search.aspx?p=0&r=10&t=&s=availabledate ~ Descending true... some files are simply web installers, but if you continue
the research you should be able to find the full downloads. You can
Talk about the size of the file if you get the full download.

For Microsoft files... it can help search for developer files
    or redistributable.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

  • My computer loses 1 or 2 GB per day when nothing if current download.

    original title: waste space

My computer loses 1 or 2 GB per day when nothing if current download. What drains the GB? Documents and defining of a 2 GB file I can't find

If you look at the pie chart to JDiskReport, you should be able to click on the segment called 'Google' and get more details.  Individual files should also appear in the left pane.  Google itself shouldn't take up to 4 GB - use - you Google docs?

When you run JDiskReport and let it scan your whole drive (C:\), at the end of the scan there should be a box in the center of the pie chart giving the total amount of space used.  Is this the same amount shown as 'Space used' If you go to desktop, right-click on C:\ and select Properties?  Otherwise, what is the difference?

To see exactly what is on your drive, follow these steps:

Open disk management (start > run > diskmgmt.msc > OK).  You should see something like this.

The default view (shown in the screenshot linked) presents all the "volumes" in the upper pane and all the physical disks in the lower pane (view > Top > list of Volume and display > down > view graphic).

The computer shows the screenshot has two physical disks, labeled in the lower pane as disk 0 and disk 1.  There are 7 volumes (drives or partitions, or colloquially)--4 these volumes or disks are on the physical disk 0 and the other 3 are on the physical disk 1.  As you can see, Windows XP and Windows Vista are installed on this computer (in separate partitions).

With the exception of the rounding errors, if you add up all of the sections shown in each line in the lower pane, you will get the total physical capacity of the disk, also shown at the left end.

At this point, only look in disk management.  Don't be really something (like deleting something).

    Brian,

This could be a setting in your profile (or power saving wireless mode) power setting?

I had problems where an update (from HP, not Windows) changed (my) default settings for power profiles.

Can you restore back a few days or a date prior to the problem? This would test if the a software update changed something...

    Kind regards

  • Download CC versions for installation on a computer without internet connection

So I just signed up with CC because I'm wanting to get Photoshop and lightroom

So I have a computer without internet access, and so I would like to download the versions of the CC of the software on my work computer.

Once downloaded, I'll install the software on the computer without internet connection, then use my mobile phone to the computer to the internet to register the products of teither.

So my question is how to do this?

Download the software using the Manager on my internet phones is not an option. (with 300 MB per month on phones quota not an option)

I am wanting the features photoshop CS6 CC not to save the cs6 version is not an option.

When updates come out for CC where can also download those.

(we had a change of Government, so I could get 24 mb/s internet in 2019)

    Thank you

    Hi Paul,.

    Welcome to the community!

Certainly, you can download the files on another computer and install on a computer without internet, but you must connect to the internet once a month so that we can charge your credit card.

The option to connect to the internet with phone will work however updates must be downloaded via internet, like the size might be in the UK.

To download executable files, visit this page http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html. Remember to follow the instructions very Important, otherwise the download does not start.

    Thank you!
