Computer security

My computer is slow, especially when playing games I have to install another security software? I already installed Road Runner.

A computer is slow playing games is caused mainly by lack of resources that games need to run. It is mainly related to how much of your resources are free to use when you play this game.

To determine if your software works properly or not, make sure that:

1. you have removed the temporary files, files, etc. on hard drives of junk running Disk Cleanup or cleanup utility.

2. you don't have any malware or virus running on the computer by updating your security software and running a full scan to use.

If, even after doing those things, you still get slow speeds while playing games, you need to have a look at what you run "under the hood" in your computer. Probably a hardware upgrade is required.

You should never have more than one security software installed on a Windows computer. You can't face a problem today, but more than one security software running on the computer cause problems some day or the other. In addition, several security software installation will eat more amount of memory and other resources on your computer.

  • Network Magic is not updated in the computer security software.

I decided to standardize my security with Microsoft Security Essentials software.  I uninstalled the previous security software (CA Internet Security Suite) and installed Security Essentials on two laptops.  Now, when I look at the Map Network Magic, I have 3 alerts.

    My router is D - Link DI - 624 Rev C Firmware 2.70.  Network magic is c. 5.5.9195.0 - PURE0, version of the 11.2.9195.1 platform.  My cable modem is D - link DCM-202.

When I discover the details and alerts from a computer, running Vista Home, SP2, it shows that there is no antivirus installed, the spy software is the defender of widows, and firewall Microsoft Windows is installed.  Alerts that I receive from this computer are that the Antispyware is turned off and the Antivirus is not installed.

When I discovered the details and alerts of yhe other computer, running XP, SP3, it shows that the Antivirus is CA-Anti-Virus, installed no Antispyware and firewall Microsoft Windows is installed.  The alert for this computer, it is that there is no antispyware installed.

I removed the two computers to my network card, rebooted and re them connected to Network Magic, but the sill of alerts are displayed.

How can I get Network Magic to report the correct security software installed on both of these computers?

Hi, MSE was released after 5.5 NM.  Wait for the next update for full support.

  • is my computer secure?

Today I just internet browsing (if this is useful in playing 1 Sonny on Kongregate) and Windows Update pops up saying he'll restart as seconds.

I didn't have to restart at this time, so I went to click 'reporter' for 4 hours, but foolishly, I clicked on 'Restart now' accidentally.

OK, I wasn't worried, I have to just wait for the update.

Everything went well spent - he said "full install update part 2 of 3, 19%" for a bit, with the % filling progressively by steps. Then it disappeared, and rebooted the PC.

No problems yet - but once it's always spent the loading screen where "microsoft corporation", or something is displayed near the bottom, he began to scribble through a list of the locations of files (that I remember before), and everywhere that I saw LISTED in THE REGISTER.

Now, I had read somewhere before that a sign to have a virus on your system is if you notice the registry being accessed at startup. Then I panicked, and as I didn't want my register being accessed, I pressed the power button to put the PC.

I know if possible, you should avoid doing this, but I wasn't about to let my registry be messed with and wait for all my files etc had been loaded normally.

Anyway. The next thing I do is leave TI a minute I feel a little sick of the idea of a Virus on my system again (yes I had a before centuries ago). So, I just go upstairs and turn on the PC to see if things have changed. I was about to start in safe mode, I could not remember which key F, but then after a screen or two (as usual) the PC flashes something on the recovery of the system.

I know more exactly the screens, as I was not familiar with them, but he asked to check for errors with the system, because the last boot failed. OK, I let check (hoping it was a real thing). He said he found errors, but later asked if I wanted to restore the system to an earlier configuration (last successful startup.)

I selected Yes, it would take me hoping to return before the error. It took a little time to "restore system" or whatever, but he then finished doing what he was doing and gave me to select "Finish." Before I did it, I clicked on "View report" or something similar and he showed a long list of tests.

I wasn't sure what they have all along, but they all show 0 x 0 under the bit errors.

Since then, I have restored the system, and he presented me with health research. Since then, I've noticed nothing extraordinary, and the thing to auto-update not shown yet.

So, I'm sure? Or what has happened to what is most important? Why didn't we text of registry at startup? Thank you.

  • Several issues having an impact on computer - security alert Windows

Help. I'm a self confessed computer illiterate! It seems that whenever the update of Windows is running on my computer, it changes the settings & I encounter problems.

I'm currently running Vista (please let me know what other details you might need) & I have Bitdefender. Windows Update ran & now I alert security windows saying there are several issues that affect my computer. I checked Bitdefender & all right with respect to any virus or malware etc. etc. When I click on icon - windows security alert - it opens the windows Security Center.

Everything changed on or Ok. Like how windows tells me that there are several issues affecting my computer but then doesn't bother to go & tell me what they really are.

Someone else has encountered this & know what it means or how I can fix this problem...

I underestand that your Windows Security Center will tell you you have any questions, but when you open it, all right. If this is the problem then, it could be due to delay the departure of the Windows Security Center to monitor your anti-virus.

I suggest defragnment and clean and updated Windows and make sure you have installed SP2, make sure that bitdefender is updated.

Also, just check and make sure you have the latest version of bitdefender, please refer to:

  • update computer security freezes KB3025390

I thought that my computer has been permanently discontinued after a systematic update. It took more than 30 minutes to turn on stuck before and after the sign on screen, could not open any programs or the internet or assistance, the Task Manager did not work, the internet did not work. I finally managed to open installed programs and managed to show me the updates. The only updated has been updated to windows KB3025390 security. I removed this update, and my computer started working again, as if nothing had happened. My problem is now whenever my computer is idle, it will automatically download the update again and turns into a brick for an hour and a half while I wait patiently for her to allow me to enter the correct screen to get rid of this update. I takes 5-10 minutes after making a selection for him open. I need to fix for this update stops my computer from freezing or shut down my computer to download this update. I tried windows help the person to change their minds on what to do (block the upload, attach it, block the download...) and they want to have access to my computer, when it took more than 1 hour for them to find a way of telling me to open internet explorer, (they could just told me to do) - so I don't trust them. They also asked disable me my Norton firewall, as they didn't know how to deal with norton either, even though I just had to open Norton and say yes to accept their intrusion.

    Hi Liz

    https://support.Microsoft.com/kb/3025390?WA=wsignin1.0

As you can see from this link this particular update was a "fix" to a previous update of IE which entered the raft of main December - check to see if this update has been installed properly in your update history... anyway, it seems that you should disable the "fix" you have obviously accurately diagnosed to ask questions.

To prevent it from reinstalling automatically you must

    (1) turn off automatic updates in the control panel of configuration-personally I go for the ' updates but let me choose... "option - he then allows me to look through them before you download and install, and if there is a number often, I download and install in batches to leave the malware to the last tool (it of a scanner and can take quite a long time to work so I can let it do its thing while I'm getting lunch or something else!)"

    (2) uninstall the "fix" or do restore the system to the point before he finally settled.

    (3) when it is new, you will get an alert asking if you want to download and install

    (4) go to the window to update and 'Hide' delinquency 3025390 - it will not download and install.

I hope that this gets you where you want to be!

    Happy new year... R

BTW... The golden rule is always up to date... I guess that this has caused a conflict (possibly with Norton)

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue.

    1. don't you make changes to the computer before this problem?

    2. do you get only security certificate warning message when starting AOL software?

This problem may occur if the computer's clock is set so that the date is later than the date of expiry of the certificate of the web server.

Check the settings for date, time and time zone to make sure that the computer is not set in the future or in the past. This may cause a certificate error, because the computer is of the opinion that this certificate is not yet valid or has expired. You can check the settings of date and time by double clicking on the clock that appears in the toolbar.

  • Pots of support Invasion of Privacy - claims to be approved by Microsoft - threats to computer security

This afternoon, I received a phone call suspect of someone (very strong Indian accent) claiming that he was of pots in charge who had allegedly approved support for Windows Microsoft firmware. He knew the details of our name and contact information. He was trying to tell me that we downloaded unintentionally viruses on your computer and tell us how to solve this problem. The alarm sounded at the beginning, but my main concern,'s done it how this organization to take our details. I am a very careful person when it comes to my personal life. Out of curiosity (as I was convinced that appellant was based abroad), I asked where he was calling from... He claimed to Adelaide. When asked what part of Sdelaide, he said, the southern. I asked an address and all he could give me was St Johns. He said the phone wasn't (08) 70041212. If it were Adeéaid the number would have started with 8 not a 7. I have no intention of ever letting anyone to have remote access to any computer, and I noticed since at least that someone else had known the call of the scam. So, is this able to report, and how do I protect our coordinates so that these stupid people (saying that he well :-)) not wasting my time again.
