Computer sleep mode

Lately, when I leave the computer idle for 30 minutes, or I put it manually to sleep, instead of go to sleep it stops completely. I put the energy saver to make the computer go to sleep after 30 minutes idling. This used to work perfectly. I have the Mac Pro Tower mid 2012 ch.

Thank you!

    Hello again Bofus,

Thanks for the information on your question. The problem you describe seems to be a physical problem, and I think it would be better if you contact HP Support for service options. They are the only ones who could give you one estimate other than a local computer repair service.

Also, check the screen saver settings.

    Right-click on the empty desk

    Select Customize

Select the screen saver at the bottom right

Set it to None and uncheck the box "on resume, display the logon screen"

  • What printer goes into sleep mode computer stops

just got a hp7520 as a gift. updated from xp to 7. If the printer goes into sleep mode, the computer shuts down.  currently I'm keeping the printer in demo mode so that it does not expire.  Anyone know how I can use printer without him turning off the computer in normal mode?  I talked about Noone has even heard of that happening.  I hope someone can help. Thank you!

    Hi @JNBLanocha

My stomach says mt that perhaps you have the printer USB cable connected to a USB 3.0 port on your computer instead of a 2.0 port. The image below is some examples of 3.0 ports.

3.0 ports are supposed to be backwards compatible, but I've seen questions arise.

    I wonder if the cable you are using is the computer and causing problems pulling power. All I can do at this stage is to assume and to gather information. Please post back with the answers to the following questions;

    1. You have a USB connection
    2. If the USB is connected, you use a 2.0 port or 3.0?
    3. Again, if you use a USB connection type, have you tried another USB cable? It could be a cable problem.
    4. You put XP or you remove XP and install Windows 7?
    5. You have your printer connected directly to a power outlet, or you are using a power strip/bar, or a surge protector?
    6. Now this may sound silly, but you have a timer on your computer, such as the hibernate after so many minutes and maybe the computer and the printer are set at the same, it is possible the moment closures / sleep coincide.

I look forward to hear from you and to work towards a solution.

  • Is it better to put the computer in mode 'sleep' when using not for an hour or so?... or turn the system off

This question is asked on a regular basis and collects generally all kinds of
fervent responses on both sides of the issue. Some people never
turn off their computers, saying their deactivation can cause the
material to fail early. Others turn them on and off several times
    every day, to save electricity.

My opinion is that it doesn't matter much anyway, and you should
do what suits you best. Personally, I turn on once a day, when I
get up in the morning and turning off the power once a day, when I go to bed at
    night.

    Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

Check if the problem persists in the clean boot state.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    Reference:
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start and then click Run.
    2. type msconfig and click OK.
The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
    3. click on the tab general, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
    4. When prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

  • When my computer goes into sleep mode, I have to press the power button to turn it back on.

When my computer goes into sleep mode, I have to press the power button to turn it back on.  I used only having to press a key on the keyboard.

Can someone tell me how to solve this problem, as if it was before?

Well, on the theory that your computer is awkward, try to change the settings to another thing and OK your way out the control panel.  Then go back and put them in the way they were and OK your way out.  Occasionally, it will reset the internal parameters and things can return to normal.

  • When I bring my computer off "sleep mode", I don't see any icons on the desktop, that my background image.

original title: malfunction of the sleep...

When I bring my computer off "sleep mode", I don't see any icons on the desktop, that my background image. I can't get back them, and the only thing to do is to give my computer a re-starting difficult.  I just bought this computer last year and fear that this hard-restart is damage. What the hell is happening? What is the point of having the "sleep mode" if it limits my activity once I re - enable the computer?

Kill process > explorer.exe from the Task Manager.

Copy a copy of explorer.exe from a stable machine fresh and clean.

    Paste in: C:\WINDOWS\

    Replace existing explorer.exe.

    Problem should be solved.

If this is not the case, change the registry should be applied.

For this kind of issues Stand-By and hibernation, I tend to start thinking about video drivers.

You did not provide the requested information on your video drivers or the way in which your Stand By button behaves right now.

If you did a system recovery from the CD supplied with your system, drivers on the recovery CD may be outdated or you may have updated your system in the past - that's why it used to work.

I could go to the wide wide world of eMachines Web page and see if you have the latest video drivers and update your system if necessary:

    http://www.eMachines.com/support/drivers.html

Looks like you need VGA driver version 6.14.10.3889.

You can find your current version by following the previous instructions.

In the meantime, since you think that your system has a type of infection, I also recommend to do this:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!
