Computer Vista will not complete start up once the updates have been installed

Office worked well on 20 January, until the update when you restart it should start going to black screen with cursor. I tried to fix it, but it does not work. I tried the system restore to an earlier date but gives the error. Does anyone have ideas, which is false.

Thank you

Lisa,
At this point if you have a way to back up your data, I suggest that do you so as soon as possible.  Start the XP that you have installed.  Then copy all your data from the original Windows folder to an external drive or a DVD.

Then, to try to make this repair, boot from the XP disc and select the recovery option.  This will start you in the recovery console prompt.  From there, you can then run the commands to replace the sam file.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Windows Vista will not complete installation on SATA hard drive

I tried to install Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit on a new desktop computer Acer X 1200 (less than 1 year).  Vista recognizes the drive, format and copy all the files on the disk installation.  Then restarts, is preparing to launch for the first time and get to the part where it says installation finished and hangs there.  The green progress bar does not move and it hangs indefinitely.  The hard drive is SATA and I put a new disc in hard, but exactly the same thing happened.  The motherboard has no IDE port on it and there is no option in the BIOS for the IDE emulation.  At this point I think the motherboard is bad, but I am working also on a laptop HP 1 year with SATA hard drive that does exactly the same thing.  The two systems are pre-installed with Vista Home Premium.  The two systems see the hard drive, but will not complete installation.  I even tried to run the WD Tools Data Lifeguard before installation with no luck at all.  There is no error message or error code, just of hangs and end no installation.  You have any suggestions for this?  Thank you.

    Last known good configuration (Advanced)

    Start Windows normally

All options will be led to the recovery of my com & return the same screen.

It will always get stuck at the loading bar where the com starts boot & restarts itself.

I tried to attach the hard drive to a different com as external hard drive, but it will begin to restart that com & hang the CMO as well

I tried using the disc to reinstall OS from DELL and it will show a msg of error (blue screen) with the following text:

    Hi Bill,

I forgot to include some info as well... I replaced the 'touched' hardisk (Barracuda 500 GB) to an unused a (Barracuda 160 GB) and the problems disappeared. Whenever I change back the 500 GB in the com, the sound signal occurs only backwards the system continues the reopening for abt... 10 + times?

"My Office studio slim (Vista OS) Dell I have since Mar09 died on me 2 weeks back and I can't it start, and he'll keep rebooting until it seems a beep long-lasting looks not (as if someone died).

So the questions are now fixed, unless you put the other disk hard?

    Test the other hard drive.

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > find specifications of hardware in your computer (hard drive) > access the Web Hard Drive from the manufacturer site > download their diagnostic software > make a Bootable disc > test your hard drive.

And run the F12 as I advised you to do so.

    It is DELL's Diagnostics software.

    Good luck with it.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes before the show?
    2. who is the manufacturer of the system?

We checked for error "status: 0xc000014c ' and the troubleshooting step for this problem is to perform the Startup Repair by using the Vista DVD. To do this, follow the steps mentioned below:
    1. Insert the installation disc into the CD/DVD ROM.
    2. restart your computer.
    3. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
    4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    5. click on repair your computer.
    6. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.
    8. once the Startup Repair tool is completed, remove the Vista DVD from the CD/DVD ROM and restart the computer as usual.

For more information about the Startup Repair, see this link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/startup-repair-frequently-asked-questions

IMPORTANT: If the startup repair does not resolve the problem, you can choose "System Restore" Windows recovery environment and check the result.

If you do not have the Vista DVD, and then contact the manufacturer of the system for more support options.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • Computer Vista will not print to Deskjet 930c on home network

Our three computers (Vista is A, B, and C are XP) are connected to a wired network of private home.  Computer A has a Canon printer that is shared and all 3 computers can print to that very well.  Recently, we re-gasket a printer HP DeskJet 930C to computer B (via USB) and shared.  Computers, B and C can be printed on the HP very well.

But, even if A computer can see the printer, it will not print.  He seems to accept the print command and sometimes a dialog box flashes on and so quickly as it cannot be read, but nothing prints.

I worked through the Microsoft article "File and sharing printers in Windows Vista" at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx#mainSection and you don't see anything that solves the problem.  I ran the doctor of printing & scanning HP and who wrote the 930C is installed but not connected.  According to the website of HP, Vista has the correct driver.  I have uninstalled and installed the printer from computer A, but it still does not work.

So I called HP Support, and they said that I had done all the right things, and "it must be a registry problem.  This seems unlikely to me, and I don't know where to look in the registry.

    Any ideas or solutions?

    Hello

Windows XP sharing can be done automatically in XP or operating systems, XP does not host the drivers for the newer Vista operating systems and so you will have problems with some models.

To manually add the shared printer, follow these steps:

    1. install the printer locally in following second method: connecting the cable in parallel below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01655752

    2. go into your PC host (computer B), right click my computer and select Properties.

Find the name of computer on this screen.

    3. go in Control Panel > printers and faxes.

Right-click on the printer and select Properties.

Open the tab end hand note the share name

Note: I would say keeping the name of sharing as simple as possible (e.g., 930C)

    4. go to your Vista machine and open Control Panel > printers.

Click with the right button on the 930c configured in step 1 and select Properties.

    Open the Ports tab.

    Click Add a new port.

In this list, select Local Port.

Set the local port in the form of \\Computer B Name\Printer share name (for example \\PC-P\930c).

Confirm the changes and check any change.

If you have still any question, I would say that the printer is connected to the Vista machine, then share it with the XP PC and check for any changes that should run more easily from my experience.
