Computer will not recognize a second connection of GPIB

I have two connections to a Tektronix Oscilloscope to TDS210 GPIB and generator features a synthesized Stanford Research Systems. The Oscilloscope is recognized in the measurement and Automation Explorer as GPIB0::1:INSTR, but the device is not recognized as a second instrument. The GPIB card and cables are both OR. I ran through tutorials and troubleshooting on the site OR with no luck. This laboratory has been successfully run a year ago, but between yesterday and today the College cleaned all the computers in the lab. I've updated to LabView 2009 new MAX and new VISAs and drivers for the card GPIB and instruments. It's strange that the system would recognize an instrument but not the other. Any advice or tips? Am I missing something huge?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Nicole

Have you checked that the two instruments are to different addresses? Have you checked that the function generator is configured for GPIB communications? Some instruments can communicate on a bus type more, but sometimes only one can be active. Have you checked if she acknowledged if it is the only one connected? Have you tried swapping cables? Have you tried to change that it is connected to the controller first in the chain?

Thank you for these two answers, unfortunately the first did not work, and the second deals with USB.  The computer will not recognize any location chip memory, they do not appear on the Import Wizard, or MY computer.  The only two drives that appear are drive C and drive J, which is where I have a wireless mouse hooked up.   Just before this problem I had... and still not... a bottom of screen message "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned... Ran the Scan, the system is secure.

I was able to bypass stubborn files to transfer them to a flash drive and copy them to another folder.  I was then able to access.  Somehow I messed up the permissions in the previous transfers of old machines and OS.

  • : HP Quicktouch on screen has stopped working, computer will not remain once I connect.

So looking at the forums and everywhere on the internet, I know this problem starts because of an update that I installed it. But what I'm trying to understand why my computer will not remain after that window opens after I connect, because it restarts whenever I log in. I became extremely frustrated with this issue and I really don't know what to do. of course, there is the system restore, but that work? I can't find quicktouch in my list of programs to uninstall in safe mode, because this is the only mode that will allow me to stay very long. so if anyone has the answer please help me, it's super frustrating.

    Hi cavalierfanatic247,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

    Start on Safe Mode desktop.

Remove the update that caused the broadcast of programs and features in Control Panel by clicking View installed updates.

If you are not able to remove the update, use the utility window cleaning to remove the update. See the link below:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

If the steps above did not fix the problem, try to restore the system to a previous point before windows update when it worked fine.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose another restore point and then click Next.

In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

You have an Essentials and HP drivers disk?

If the system restore is not enough, you can use the HP Essentials and the disk drivers to uninstall and reinstall the quick key.

    Click Finish.

You can see the link below for more information:

Yes, it should work, you will need to set it up in the BIOS so.

Another option is to create a bootable USB key with the installation files.

  • Vista will not recognize the projector connected for multiple display

I'm under a system dual boot with Windows XP and Vista.  When running under XP, I doesn't hurt to connect a projector to my laptop and extend the desktop on the projector for meetings and others.

When I am running Vista, it does not even recognize that the projector is connected.  However, once I have connected the projector, if I reboot the system, it will then display on the projector.  If I disconnect the projector, the screen does not reappear on the screen of the laptop, I have to restart, with the projector removed for office reappear on the screen of the laptop.  I'm hoping to get multiple monitors to work with Vista, as it does in my XP boot.

For the purpose of the next presentation running in XP is not an option.

    Hi cptrigeek

Try these steps and check if that helps:

Method 1: We can try to perform a power cycle of the projector.

Remove the cable from the power of the projector and this continues for 5-10 minutes. Also do the same for the laptop, Dungeon, it off. Then put back in place and start the projector. Now, start the laptop as well. Connect now. Now, you will need to install the driver for it (if there is one). After which, you need to configure the settings of the laptop.

Method 2: Check the following steps:

    1. connect the projector to your Windows PC. NOTE: the following steps apply if you use your PC in MIRROR mode only.

    2. on the screen of the computer, right CLICK on the desktop and select Properties.

    3. click on the SETTINGS tab. If you want that your displays in mirror (what you see on laptop, it's what the public sees) you must make sure that the box "extend my desktop to this monitor" is DISABLED. If you see a box of "mirroring", remember to check it out.

    4. drag the slider to 1024 x 768 screen. As a general rule, the external monitor may limit this parameter. If your screen is higher, it might not display on the projector, then you want to test this until you're ready to take the floor. Drag the color to highest (32 bit) if available or medium (16 bit) quality if the first is not available.

    5. now select FN and press the function key. This key is usually given by a small screen icon, the CRT/LCDtext and is usually found on F8 or F5 even. Press the appropriate operation button ONCE and wait. After a few seconds, the second screen should light up. Be patient, it may take up to 5 seconds. On the projector, it may take up to 10 seconds for the projector to detect your system and switch. Note: a second press of this function (in general) will switch to monitor EXTERNAL only. A third press stop INTERNAL onlyand the circle for each push after that. Also note that some laptops can do this sequence in a different order, so learn your system so that you can quickly to the desired mode.

    6. click on the ADVANCED button. If 'apply the new settings to display without restarting' is not selected, select it. Under screen refresh rate, select 60 Hz. click APPLY and CONFIRM the choice. Click OK to close the ADVANCED options dialog. Close the display properties dialog box. You should now see a mirroring of your monitor on the second monitor.

    7. test: A test, disconnect the second monitor. put your mobile PC to sleep. He wakes up and let it fully come (login if necessary), and then reconnect the external monitor. On some machines, he needs to quickly display the screen in the last known state (you may need to wait up to 10 seconds). If it is not correctly displayed, press the switch function, ONCE. Yet once, note that it can take up to 10 seconds to view, so be patient. If only the projector display now, some pressure on the function switch key should provide for both screens again. If you can't get the projector to display, check all your connections and settings above.

8 Note that when you use the projector, after pressing the function for changing the monitor button, it may take up to 10 seconds for the monitor find and block on your machine. Just wait. Pressing on the keys new fkey can simply ruin your settings or turn off the projector.

    9. not all laptops work the same way. Please make sure you learn how your work before you get to your presentation.

    (Not mirrored)

    1. If you do NOT want mirrored poster (display of different internal and external), CHECK the box next to the line that reads "extend my Windows desktop to this monitor." This SHOULD result in the external monitor display an image which is an EXTENSION of the current desktop.

    2. in the settings dialog box, the internal monitor appears as a '1' and externally as a '2 '. Click ONCE on the '2 '.

    3. with '2' selected, drag the Screen Resolution slider to the left or to the right until the resolution reads "1024 x 768". Also affect the quality of the highest (32-bit color) if available or average (16 bit) if the first is not available.

    4. click on the ADVANCED button. If 'apply the new display settings without restarting' is not selected, select it.

    5. Select the MONITOR tab. Under screen refresh rate, select 60 Hz. click APPLY and CONFIRM the choice. Click OK to close the ADVANCED dialog box. Your system is now set for an extended desktop. When it is connected to the screen, you may need to use the function switch key to turn once more on this option, but on systems that I tested, the extended desktop comes just when the monitor is connected. Yet once, I suggested some tests with this mode of knowing how your laptop will perform when connected to an external monitor before coming to speak.

    6. notes that, in this mode, items moved to the extended desktop can be "lost" it if the external monitor is disconnected because they live on the extended desktop is no longer available. Also note that if the extended desktop is turned on, this part of funds 'second' can continue to live, which means that the cursor and the object can be moved off the screen in this sector and not be visible on a single internal monitor. To resolve this problem, do a right-click on the desktop, select Properties, select settings, click on the '2' box and UNCHECK the extend option. Items left on the extended desktop should now align the right edge of the internal display.

    Hello

    1. how you connect the head phone to the computer?

2 have you tried to use the same phone head on another computer and check?

    Method 1.

This occurs when you have external speakers, by default. We need to put the headset as default.
Perform the task mentioned to set the headphones as default:
    a. Click Start, and click Control Panel.
    b. click sound, and then a new window will open.
    (c) in the new window click on the tab 'Read' and right-click in the window and click Show disabled devices.
    d. check if headphones are listed and then right-click on it and choose activate.
    e. Select this headset, and then click "Set as default".

    Method 2:

Check with the volume settings and if it helps:
    (a) right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.
    (b) check on "all devices evolving sound.
    (c) make sure that you have "Default uncontrolled communication device".
    (d) place a check on the speakers and headphones.

    Method 3.

    a. right click your sound icon.
    b. click playback devices.
    c. right-click on the reading tab.
    d. click Show disabled devices.
    e. right click on the playback tab.
    f. click Show disconnected devices.

    Method 4.

check your connection. The most likely source of a complete cessation of the features is loose or unplugged connection. Make sure that the USB cable is correctly plugged into the USB port on your computer and do not move when shaken slightly.

b make sure that the headset is selected as audio device by default. When a device is listed as a default value, it automatically will be used, even when the other output (such as speakers or a secondary microphone) devices exist. To make your audio/line-in helmet device by default in Windows XP, go to (accessible via the menu 'Start') Control Panel then click on the link "Sounds and Audio devices" and click the tab "Audio". Then under the headings "Audio playback" and "Voice recording", select your headset in the drop-down list. Then the same things in the "Audio" tab click the 'OK' button to save the changes.

c check the status of the driver. Device drivers are small pieces of software that facilitate communication between computers. To check your device drivers, go to the Control Panel, select 'System' then go to the 'Material' on 'Device Manager' tab and go to the section of sound, video and game controllers. Click on the yellow arrow to show installed audio and audio devices. If you see your device listed, your drivers are up to date. If your device is not listed, or it has a yellow exclamation mark next to it, you need to reinstall or update your drivers. See Manual of the owner of your headset for more information about how to install the drivers for your specific model.

    I hope this helps.

  • Computer will not recognize new keyboard, KU-0841 in Vista

The other day, I bought a new key board and I'll have a lot of problems when trying to use it.
First of all I can't download his material, which means I can't even recognize the keyboard of the computer. I've tried everything I can think of, but I still can't get it to work. This model KU-0841. If anyone can offer advice on how to get this keyboard to work, I would really appriciate it. : D

My new keyboard is having some major issues regarding the material and use

You can get in trouble with your device drivers.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you should you do to the keyboard at least and all others you have time to do - they help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html. Make sure driver debice arises and is functioaing properly.

Are you sure that the keyboard is compatibble with your version of Vista? http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/

The old stilll keyboard works fine on the computer?  Have you tried the new keyboard on another computer to see if it works there?

Who is the manufacturer of the keyboard?  Does it come with the firmware or software tha must also be installed?

Go to start / Control Panel / Add Hardware and have the system search and install a new hardware it finds.  It can find and install your keyboard.

I hope this helps.  Keep me posted.
