computer Windows does not recognize my 2nd hard drive but the computer management and the two bios say he's here?

Secondary drive of HP laptop.  Vista ultimate 64 bit OS.   I installed a hard drive, formatted with computer management, check the bios, as saying that this is? I haver to do?

Steve, run Bios secondary ck drive it passeds all tests.

Computer management is fwhat I used for the format and the name of the drive.  It recognizes the drive!

When I click on computer is not there? Why

No errors, Ran H P health check it says his State there but intelligent smart stranger.  BIOS says smart successful test.

Returns the 320 GB sata drive and bought a 250 GB sata drive it works. Don't know why computer windows didn't see it or report it defective.

Another problem I had.  I have replace the c drive he had run a windows launched out of the backup of the computer, to another drive. tried to restore it. It did not restore my nero or any other software and updates.  Is there a way completely a backup disk and restore all on a new drive.  I'm not stealing everything that I bought everything.  Norton Ghost will do it?  E-mail address is removed from the privacy * pls send an e-mail.

  • Windows Vista does not recognize my external hard drive, Eagle Consus AND-CS2PSU2-BK

I have an HP Presario laptop running Windows Vista and it does not recognize my external hard drive, or my flash drives.

I have an external hard drive Eagle Consus AND-CS2PSU2-BK.  It worked fine on my desktop, which works on XP.  I plug it to my computer laptop and nothing.

When I plugged it in the first place, he says that he needed to download the drivers.  I clicked 'ok' to automatically download drivers and a few seconds later, he said that it successfully completed the driver download/install.

I look under the drives in my computer and he's not here.

I went to start, right click computer, left you click on Manage and double-clique then under storage disk management.  All I see are C drive and recovery disc (D).  No other drives displayed.

I exitted who and set up the Control Panel, double click on Device Manager.  He said in the other topic peripheral USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge.  I don't know whether or not it is my external hard drive.  It indicates the Type of device: Other Devices and under device status it says: "the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28).  This operation requires an interactive window station.  To reinstall the drivers for this device, click on reinstall the driver. »

He asks if I want to reinstall the drivers, so I clicked that.  He couldn't find them / install them.

Still, I don't know if USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge is still linked to my external hard drive.

Help, please.  The same thing happens when I try to plug a flash/USB.

    Try this:

In the right click 'USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge' Device Manager under the other devices section, click unsintall or press the delete key. Reset with the connected hard drive it must be reinstalled, but under the USB controllers. Make sure the device works on the other computer cable can also go to bad.b

  • Backup Win XP does not recognize my external hard drive

Windows XP Backup Wizard does not recognize my external hard drive and does not list it as an option for storing backups.  I suspect a registry problem because the backup wizard previously recognized this drive and saved on it several times before I was running ARO 2012 for cleaning the registry errors.  I can always open the player in windows Explorer and see the files it contains, but Explorer Windows XP now lists the drive as an "expansion disc" instead of a 'removable disk '.  When I right click in windows Explorer and open 'properties' for this drive, it shows it as a 'local disk' instead of a 'removable disk '.  The drive is ok when I click the button 'Remove hardware safely', and it reports "safe to remove hardware" after I click on "USB storage device - Drive (J :). ».  Help!

Who did.  Thank you!  Now... I used Aero2012 to clean up the errors in my registry that's because my computer is desperately slow, especially when you start (8-10 minutes) and also with internet explore (move cursor to previous typos when you compose a new e-mail message).  Is there a safe way for me to speed up my computer?

Download the drivers to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, from the card mother/chipset drivers, LAN, Audio, USB, Graphics, SATA, Webcam, Etc., and so on.

  • Computer does not recognize LaCie external hard drive when it is connected.

Should I just a 'driver' of the manufacturer so that windows recognize? Help, please.

The device is a hard drive (250 gb) bought in 2006.   LaCie support has provided relevant solutions.

I disconnected the USB line, reconnected with the power of the unit it turned on and off while only plugged, unplugged, and made all possible combinations of many times. My computer does not recognize anything.

I can't find it in my computer, and also, the computer does not list the device in the Device Manager utility.

I have disabled the Windows Firewall.

The computer with which the external drive worked and one that currently does not recognize are model computers windows XP (2008).

Thank you very much for your help.

    Thanks for the reply.

In the meantime and after reviewing all similar positions, it turns out that find the 'live' usb device does the trick.

So, other people with similar problems, try the usb cables at the back of the computer (all), then by restarting the connection there.

    It worked for me.

    Thanks again for the reply!

  • Desktop computer does not recognize any material (hard drive, cd/dvd-rom)

Hi, have no idea if anyone can help me out here; but my computer is upward; at first, I thought it was the hard drive, but after further investigation, I noticed in the configuration menu of the BIOS that none of my records are to be noticed; I then went into the "boot" and then into "boot device priority" to see if I can put in my recovery cd so that I can just start there and it gives me a list of boot devices... 1st; 2nd; 3rd; 4. a group disk Boot Priority "NOT INSTALLED" list and it says 'NOT INSTALLED' for all of them... it is a dead motherboard?  I don' t want to go geek team and ask them to charge me 70 males just to tell me that.  I prefer to get all my stuff on the hard drive and hope I can find someone who can fix this... any advice would be really appreciated!

  • Windows 7 RC1 does not recognize my secondary hard drive

I installed windows 7 RC1 on my system (2 GB of ram, processor E7200, ASUS P5QL-E). I started with 2 x 250 GB hard drives and purchased a 1 TB drive that was on sale. At first, I installed it with all three additional readers, the 1 on the 250 GB drives. All my disks were very well known at this point, but I realized that I have installed windows 7 hard disk that was dying, so I made another clean install. Now the two discs (the second disk of 250 GB and the 1 TB drive) are recognized by my BIOS, but disk management does not see my 1 TB drive. Someone has an idea what here?

To which I would recommend checking the physical and other connections, maybe turn the system off and remove the disk and all reinstall.  If you have another operating system installed yet, you can also check here and make sure it is fully visible and operational in this still from the BONE.

Even if Windows decides for some reason he cannot use a piece of hardware, it should be always displayed in Device Manager.  Something very early in the process goes wrong if it does not show here.

  • Restoring data of Vista (from backup/restore) does not recognize my external hard drive, when I request a restore from a backup of data

It does not recognize the HD during backups. The backup files are visible in date of..., and I believe they exist. HD is a new Maxtor external

    Hello

    ·          Windows recognizes the external hard drive?

    ·          How you back up files?

    ·          You get the error message?

    ·          It is visible in Explorer? Disk management how about you?

You can put your system to boot and try to run the backup. This disables antivirus software and other third parties to eliminate conflicts.

See the article below on how to place your system in the clean boot state.
