Computer works ok, Firefox is four-legged unless I have disable add ons which I have none!

If I restart with Add ons disabled in safe mode, that Firefox works normally. Tried refreshing, re - install with no luck. It runs as if I had a slow dial upward. It started just the other day after using Firefox for years.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.

You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

  • What should I do to get the video jerky unless I have disable add-ons?

Most of the videos I watch online is choppy, as the video goes back moving forward always forward. There are Facebook and YouTube. The sound is fine. It started about 6 months ago. I recently noticed that IE doesn't have this problem, so I think that it is something within Firefox. I tried to restart with disabled modules and it worked! Now, I need to know which add-on I need to permanently disable. I am running Windows 7 and Firefox 41.0.1. I also tried updating my Flash drive, but even after an update he always told me that he had to be updated. I did 3 times before giving up.

Hello, drtoner, see the Test for faulty extensions to find what the problem is.

BUT please first, turn off hardware acceleration to check if the problem is not an add-on and hardware acceleration.

    Thank you

  • 'Open the link in a new tab' does not work. I tried with all disabled add-ons and it still does not work.

When I right-click a link and select 'open in a new tab' and 'opens in a new window', nothing happens. In addition, nothing happens when I type a query in the search bar and press ENTER. I tried to restart firefox in safe mode and disabling all add-ons, but the problems continue.

The setting in "tools > Options > tabs: open new windows in a new tab instead" is for links that specify a target window (for example, target = _blank) to open the link.
This option allows to divert these links into a new tab instead of a new window.
Links that do not specify a target always open in the current tab, unless you redefine that with a middle-click or Ctrl (Mac: Cmd) left click (new tab) or a left click UPDATE (new window) or via the context menu.

You can check if you have the XML files including Google's default search engine in the browser\searchplugins file in the Firefox program folder.

If this isn't the case, then you need to reinstall Firefox.

Try to delete the file search.json and possible search - metadata.json and search.sqlite files in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the default search engines.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Firefox will rebuild the file search.json from the default search engines in the folder "browser\searchplugins" in the Firefox program folder and the searchplugins folder in the Firefox profile folder.

  • After Firefox upgraded to version 6, just now, my Add-ons Manager crashes constantly when I try to access it. How to solve this problem or downgrade to version 5?

During the update process, it said an add-on, java console, was not compatible and would be disabled.

It is a common problem caused by a bug in the process of updating Firefox 6. Fortunately, you should be able to solve it by clicking one of the tabs on the left side of the Add-ons Manager (Add - ons get, appearance, Plugins...).

  • My menu has stopped working. I disabled add-ons, started in safe mode, disabled hardware acceleration and all the other suggestions but nothing helps.

Everything worked fine until a few days ago. I tried all of the suggestions for similar problems, but the problem remains. I don't have the problem with Internet Explorer.

I found the problem! It was my wireless mouse, who must be dying or something, although I remember a fall just before the problem started. In any case, after switching to my old mouse wired, everything is back to normal. I suggest that anyone else has the same problem first check their mouse.

  • I started firefox in safe mode. Now all my Add-ons disappeared, my favorites, my preferences... everything! What is hell?

Here's what was contained in the dialog box. I checked all the boxes and choose the option "make changes and restart". Nothing has emerged to indicate that I was doing permanent changes... no type 'Are you sure you want to do' things... nothing.

    Firefox Safe mode

Firefox is now running in safe mode, which temporarily turns off your custom settings, themes and extensions.

You can do any or all of these permanent changes:

[] disable all add them ons
    [] reset toolbars and controls
[] delete all bookmarks except for backups
[] reset all default user preferences
    restore default search engines]

[make changes and restart] [Continue in safe mode] [output]

You can restore the bookmarks from the most recent backup of JSON.

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Backing_up_and_restoring_bookmarks_-_Firefox

You can re-enable the extensions in tools > Modules > Extensions

You will have to redo the customization of the toolbar and preferences in tools > Options

  • Bookmarks have stopped working in Firefox 41.0.1

Bookmarks have stopped working (i.e. I can't create new ones) in Fx 41.0.1. My old favorites are still there and they still work as expected. In the past, when I created a bookmark (' bookmarks > Bookmark this page') I would get a dialog box so that I could determine whenre the bookmark has been going. Now I get nothing, and I can't find any new bookmark.

I don't know exactly when Fx itself 41.0.1 upgrade, but I first noticed this problem 2-3 days ago.

Hi, it is possible that the update has interfered with one of your extensions - a number you need! So, try Firefox Mode safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

If it's OK in Mode without failure, you will need to temporarily disable all of your extensions one by one until you find the culprit.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • NoSquint 2.1.9 has stop working in Firefox 30.0?

After that I upgraded to 30 NoSquint Firefox will not work. I keep my office to 125% and kept NoSquint at 80%, but now it's 100% and nothing I try helps. I'm confused.

IF she stopped working, where can I find the previous version of Firefox? I can't surf with all that huge.

NoSquint should still work in Firefox 30, but you need to install an add-on that restores the add-on bar.

If you have extensions to place toolbar buttons in the bar of the add-on so you need an extension like CTR to restore this toolbar.

  • How can I get this script to work with Firefox?

This 'go to the top of the Page"button does not work with Firefox 5.0.What do I have to do to make it work correctly?

Handwriter you actually use Firefox 3.6.13 based on your useragent (look at the end, not starting). Mozilla/5.0 is on all versions of Firefox. Firefox 5.0 won't come out for a while yet as 4.0 has yet to be released.
