  • VeriStand missing in Simulink blocks

There are two computers I meet currently on this problem. I installed matlab + simulink then all my software from national instruments, including simulink interface toolkit anf NI Veristand 2009. I didn't completely install matlab before installing any software of NOR. I've done it before with other computers and everything worked. This time however the veristand blocks are missing in simulink. One of the computers that what happens on is 64-bit. It has 64-bit matlab (I couldn't get 32-bit matlab to install; according to mathworks 32-bit ML under 64 bit OS is not supported, but should work; See link below) and 32-bit NV. could it be a problem? The other computer is running a 32 bit OS. I tried to reinstall completely Veristand and blocks are still missing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Hello Jon VT,

It seems you could faces two different problems.  The first being that NI VeriStand is a 32-bit process and therefore cannot communicate with Simulink of 32 bits.

Second, NI VeriStand updates some files during installation that can sometimes be marked read-only, so it is necessary to do updates yourself for these features.  This is described in the help topic communication with the NI VeriStand Server.

    Hope this helps,

  • Using Simulink in Veristand for Dummies

I'm still new to Veristand and even recent Matlab/Simulink...at less their latest incarnations.  Does anyone know a good resource "Simulink for Dummies" online?  Especially suitable for someone who is going to need to generate the code in such a manner to Veristand can make use.  I hesitate to ask for example of code, that I frown on that, but I'm really just interested in the methodology, not the code itself.

    Dan M.

    Hi Dan,.

For information began, you will find very useful information in aid of NI VeriStand here and here. The time when we see the biggest problems is a function S faces she who calls in custom code that can run on a system in real-time (usually a DLL dependency problem) of NOR. There are times that you can use an add-in you is a model that will enable mapping to 3rd party hardware. In this case, you want to replace the input/output with VeriStand In and Out blocks so that you can use VeriStand to map material (e.g. CAN).

While it is for 2011, I doubt that they decided to remove 64-bit compatibility as they went forward as 64-bit has become more rather than less demand.  In this document, notes LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit does not support 64 bit versions of MATLAB application software."

The extent of the compatiblitly for 32 - bit, I'd take a peek at: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D174674A91E5536286257428005C2426

The OP's question was SIT support 64 - bit version of LabVIEW and 64-bit version of the MATLAB/Simulink itself, not the operating system software.

Document in your second link is on a completely different topic to have API for LabVIEW and MATLAB/Simulink/RTW (well, mostly Simulink & RTW). Here is the relevant link for the 32-bit compatibility: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/049295038FF0EE2A86257A06006B2DAD is no SIT 64-bit.

Other underlying issues is that Pharlap does not have a 64-bit version. Finally, simulations are better performed on some RTOS (embedded PXI) for a deterministic execution rather than PC operating systems.

  • Include a RTW Simulink in Labview RT without use of SIT

    Hello

I'm working on my memory control and had the following issue:

my job is to include a Matlab/Simulink (real-time Workshop available ist) model in Labview real-time (SMU). Because I just want to put data in the model a see what comes out, I prefer not to make use of the Simulation Interface Toolkit (since it's also quite expensive).

Someone at - it an idea how to accomplish this?

    Thanks, Andreas

    Hi Andreas

If you have a DLL from Simulink you can call this very easy in LabVIEW DLL if the DLL is able to run on a system RT:

How can I check that my DLL is executable in LabVIEW Real-time?

You can call a DLL in LabVIEW with the node library function call (range of functions-> connectivity-> libraries & executables)

If you are not able to generate a DLL from the Simulink model, it is not possible to use it without the SIT.

    Hi umutozkan...

Thanks for the post and I hope that your well today.

First, you must be the MATLAB® Data Acquisition Toolbox, which can be used with NOR-DAQmx. OR Simulation Interface Toolkit (SIT), which, by default, generates DAQmx screws to connect with map DAQ. It seems to your post your using Matlab, so option 1.

The Data Acquisition Toolbox version 2.12 supports DAQ hardware that uses a software driver OR-DAQmx or NOR - traditional DAQ .  MATLAB supports supported version 8.5 or higher OR-DAQmx and NOR-DAQ traditional version 7.3 using this box to tools.

The Data Acquisition Toolbox 2.8 version has been made especially to work with NOR-DAQmx 7.5 and 7.3 of NOR-traditional DAQ. Older versions of the Toolbox of Data Acquisition for MATLAB® versions of NOR-traditional DAQ support only.

Site Web IThe the Mathworks, Inc. has the latest support information about NOR-DAQmx.

See all this forum long post.

Use with DAQmx M series cards in Matlab!

  • Template toolkit interface (MIT) code generation defective in simulink

    Hello

I'm running into a strange down Simulink Coder and I can't tell if this is due to a NOR / MIT but or a general problem of Simulink Coder.

    System:

    Windows 7

    MATLAB/Simulink R2013b w / Simulink encoder

    MIT 2013 SP1

    File = "NIVeriStand_VxWorks.tlc" target system

Not that we even not at this point but... my "WindRiver GNU Toolchain Installation Path' is properly configured for: c:\gccdist\supplemental\setup-gcc.bat

The attached picture shows the error I get:

«Error: character not valid in: ' SMA_model/SMA Driven arm/wire/Heat Transfer Model / ', exit code generation.» "The name may not end with / character.

In the picture you can see that the subsystem of "Heat transfer model" actually doesn't have a ' / ' in the name.

Anyone who has never run on this problem of generation of code before? If so, any suggestions on how to get around?

    Thank you.

Turns out there's a block in a subsystem that is somehow got renamed "". "" This can be found with the running,

    x = find_system ("model SMA_model/SMA Driven arm/wire/Heat Transfer / ', 'LookUnderMasks', 'all'")

    or running,

hilite_system ("model SMA_model/SMA Driven arm/wire/Heat Transfer / '") % Note the space at the end

Once the name was changed to something sensible built as planned...

  • Compilation of Simulink with the model interface toolkit (MIT)

    Hello

I am considering using the template Toolkit Interface to Simulink model in the LabVIEW environment. My question is about the process of compiling Simulink. To correctly compile the Simulink model in a DLL and then wrap it with the API from MIT the build process should take place on a machine that has the two LabVIEW Matlab/Simulink AND with MIT?

Which means, is it possible to have Matlab/Simulink, on a single machine (typewriter), a license to some developers (devA) and on another machine (machine B) has a license of LabVIEW, a license to another developer (devB). Portion of the CAN the LV at MIT be installed on computer B and part of Simulink at MIT be installed on the machine as the developer can compile the simulink model in a DLL and then pass to developer B to then wrap it in LabVIEW? Or is the string of tools such as Matlab/Simulink and LabVIEW must be on the same machine. That means, a developer must have these two licenses?

    Thank you!

This help document can help you get started with the compilation of a model for use on a target of cRIO VxWorks. You don't need to have your target available for the compilation model, or write your application to MIT. You only need the target to deploy and run the model (obviously).

As described in the help link, you will need to download a compiler appropriate for the compilation of the VxWorks model. A free version of the GCC is linked to this document that you can download. You will need this compiler and the framework subcomponent model of MIT to compile the templates.

  • Problem with Simulink model dll running on target RT

    Hello!

At the beginning I specify software and hardware that I use:

    LabVIEW 8.5

    Simulation Interface Toolkit 4.0.0

    Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0

    MATLAB 7.4.0 (R2007a)

    NEITHER cRIO-9014

At first, I did a simple Simulink model (Sine generator, gain and an outdoor sink), then I started with vi empty and abandoned command digital for the gain and the waveform for the sine table. I grabbed SIT Connection Manager and that you have chosen Simulation Environment case. Then I loaded a template file, the mapped controls and indicators. Everything worked like a charm. Problems started when I tried to turn on an RT target. Maybe I'll explain step by step what I did and after the error at the end.

    1. I created a dll from a MATLAB simulink model file. I selected in time real workshop one C language and target to "nidll.tlc". The I compiled without error.

    2. I entered LabVIEW SIT Connection Manager and changed the host execution target in real time. File browser has popped up and I selected the dll already made my template file.

    3. in Add target devices on window, I chose 'existing or peripheral target' and I chose in the other menu in time real CompactRIO. There was my compactrio system, I chose it and LabVIEW began to search for devices.

    4. after that, I clicked the "Ok" button in the SIT connection manager.

    5. I clicked the run button before my vi file panel and LabVIEW began deployment.

And here the deployment failed with the following error message:

Deployment of 192.168.1.2 (parameters target successfully deployed)
    Deployment compatOpenFileOperation.vi (5.35 K)
Deployment of SIT copies values from Replay on Inports.vi (10,96 K)
Deployment of SIT expand newspapers Signal Names.vi (4.99 K)
    Deployment of SIT PostOutputs.vi
    Could not download SIT PostOutputs.vi
LabVIEW: Unable to load the shared library SITs.outostOutputs:E on the target RT device.

I tried to do everything once again and got a little different error message:

Deployment of 192.168.1.2 (parameters target successfully deployed)
Deployment of common access to specific Path.vi (22.25 K) path
Deployment of SIT runtime DLL query.vi
Could not download SIT runtime DLL query.vi
LabVIEW: Unable to load the shared library SITs.out:TaskRunTimeInfo:E on the device target RT.

What I am doing wrong? Any ideas? I will be extremely grateful for the ideas!

    Best regards

    Pawel

SIT 4.0 does not support VxWorks targets as your cRIO. SIT 5.0 was the first version to have any level of support for this.

I would recommend contacting support to discuss a possible workaround solution. If they have questions, you can reference this post on the forum and they can contact me. I hope this helps.

  • simulation interface toolit

    Hello

I want to connect the signal generator of Labview for the DLL generated from the simulink model.

My simulink model has 2 ports of entry 1. Sinus and 2. Cosine.

How can I connect these ports of entry for the labiew signal generator.

Is this possible? because I'm not able to see all the Ports of entry during the SIT connection manager mapping.

I am not able to connect directly to the dll as model...

Should what type of entry ports I use in the Simulink model, so that Labview signals can be connected to the simulink model. ?

    Thank you

    Mandar Malji.

    Hello Mandar,

the inputs and outputs of your model can be updated in the VI driver using an array of size of the data, as described in the SIT help (see the link in one of the previous posts):

"Create a custom driver VI, to correctly index in the table to the size of the data, which is where the Simulation Interface Toolkit places the data of i/o channels. see the modelname _portsReadme.txt file, located in the build model DLL folder, for the list of the order and the widths of all the entries of the template and outputs." The index number of the paintings is the sum of the width of all of the above. For example, the index number of the element 3 is equal to the width of the element 2, more the width of the element 1. »

If you update the elements of this array of the size of the data with your own code, you can change the values of input for your model, for example. It is important that information how the data is organized in this table are described in the file _portsReadme.txt modelname. This file is automatically generated by the Matlab/Simulink real-time Workshop when the dll model is created from the .mdl file.

    Best regards

  • Model does not work error-307702

I am trying to run a fairly simple model created in Simulink and compiled to a target 9081; VeriStand returns a code of 307702 error at the start of the model.  The cRIO can run another model without problem, but this model still fails.  I already tried this model running SE, update the template in Solution Explorer system, insertion or removal of the inputs and outputs and definition of the parameters of model instead of the target scope range.  So far, nothing has led to a different result.  I'm running SP1 2013 VeriStand, and the target is a chassis 9081.  I have attached the defective model and the DLLs below for reference.  The model was created in MatLab/Simulink 2009 b.

    Thanks in advance!

Problem has been resolved.  After I restarted my computer, load correctly pattern on the target.  Should have tried before posting.
