config sys error

I am using windows xp pro. Boot up I have a config sys error. When you try to repair it during the setup of windows disk boot, my keyboard stops when windows starts and I can't bring up the repair of the system. (or something else)

Go into the BIOS and make sure that Legacy USB is enabled.

    Hi Robert,.

Welcome and thank you for the post about Microsoft Community.

  • Satellite A30: system32\config\system error message

I have a Satellite A30 and when I start it it displays the system32\config\system error message

He also says I can try to repair it by starting the original windows using the installation CD installation program.

Problem is that I don't have any CD or recovery discs that I bought the laptop on ebay 2 years ago

While the options of do I have that I don't really want to spend the money, put it in repair... the credit crunch and all that!

    Thank you

    Hello

Hmm I doubt that you can solve this problem without going through any system windows disk or recovery disk.
It seems that the installed OS is messed up and you last chance would be a new installation of the OS on the MS Windows CD or Toshiba recovery disc.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro A60 does not start: missing or damaged config.sys

    Hello

I turned off my computer Friday, I went back to his Monday - and it won't start. I thought that the config.sys file is missing or damaged.

I tried all the usual methods - safe mode, last known good setting, OS etc, but none of it works. The computer does not recognize that the recovery CD is in the drive, either.

As I don't have an original installation CD - the computer was shipped with the software already installed - I can't try either.

I want especially to recover the entire system, but if I have to, I can live with that. Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thank you very much.

Have you tried to boot your PC and press C after POST message? Recovery CD to be inserted.
This C command forces the laptop to boot from ODD first.

  • Satellite M115-S30394 - config.sys file is corrupt

    I bought a Satellite M115 S 30394 is about 2 years.
The first year he had 9 hard drives and Toshiba said they replaced the motherboard 2 times.

It still does not work and the senario is first a message that the config.sys file is corrupt and after correcting it will work for a few days, then a message appears that the hard drive is about to fail and he does it in 2 days.

I replaced because he couldn't be trusted in my company but I was wondering if someone has any ideas so that I can have as a spare.

    Thank you

    Hello

If you get the message that the HARD disk fails, then it s advisable to replace it.
But it s really strange question

In any case, I never had this problem on one of my notebooks, but I think you should test the notebook with a new HARD drive.

    Good luck

  • Config file error

    Hello

I could play Bejeweld 2 on my laptop. This game is in the 'Games' folder in 'programs' under the Start button. But from today I'm not capable of playing Bejeweld 2 or any other game that is located in the folder "Game". All I get is an error message saying the following: Config File error cannot open file (line 0, column 0).

    I use Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385

The only game that works is called Solitaire.

I would like to help resolve this. I tried the Microsoft Fix It, but that is only an error and could not continue the analysis of the computer.

    Best regards

    Hi Kelly Heijn,.

    1. Only tried Microsoft fixit?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. Did you the latest changes on the computer?

Config.sys is unlikely to be used on your computer. It cannot be read when using MS-DOS or Windows 3.1 programs (prior to 1995). It is not even important for most, but not all, of these old programs.

    Ignore it.

  • nvlddmkm.sys error

I've had Windows Vista for about 2 weeks now, and I've done 4 fees installs try different confgurations for this error to the LESS to a minimum. When I use the operating system 3d treatment, I get the error...

"Display driver nvlddmkm.sys has stopped responding and has recovered."

This seems to be a plague of Vista users, on searching the net for an answer as to why, it seems to happen for all versions of Vista both 32 and 64-bit. Happeneing for people using different video card, ATI and nVIDIA chips. NVIDIA users get nvlddmkm.sys error and ATI users get the error atikmdag.sys.

This error most commonly appens when I'm a game or using a 3D or graphics program such as GIMP and the Blender and rarely when just using the Explorer. The program that I use currently hangs, and I use the "Task Manager" to stop the programme concerned. If I reboot the system, I get this error whenever I'm trying to use the same or similar program. After the reboot, it is just a matter or an hour, it seems, before that happens again.

For me personally this has happened using 3 chipsets of different motherboard and 3 different video cards. Same scenario is becoming very frusterating. Someone has ideas News on how to stop this?

    Hi V3X,

Please use the forum for Support of Vista,

Unfortunately, it is a known problem that occurred in Vista and Nvidia or Ati driver as you said.  It is not a fix for this yet.  There are a few works about depend on the hardware you have.  If you communicate with Nvidia, they will be able to tell you exactly what to do to work around this problem.

    Sorry again.
