Connect 2 HP laptop wireless

I have 2 laptop computers HP. Works with windows 7 64-bit and the other runs with windows 8.1 64. Two of them are connect to the same router.

I would like to connect my wireless laptop. I wish I had access to my two laptops from one of my laptops files. Or I want to share a file or music or video in a place that both my laptop can use it.

How can I do?

Thank you

Sorry, but you have to learn how to create a basic network. Homegroup to work between Windows 8 and Windows 7 PCs. An alternative is to buy a NAS, connect it to your router homw and use it to share files between multiple PCs connected to the router.

You asked about an advanced PC topic.  Creating a homegroup is the easiest way to do it.

  • Wired laptop but unable to connect to the laptop wireless wireless PC can connect cable PC OK

I have a wired network on whiich, I connected a WAP54G access point for my laptop wireless to children. They are never anything other that connect to the internet, so I never noticed this before. Now, I bought my own laptop and that you want to connect from my main computer but the laptop is not visible on the network. I then connected directly on the laptop to the network wired through an ethernet cable, and it was visible from the wired PC as you would expect. Back fi he returned invisible.

Does anyone have ideas, what could cause this behavior?

    Thanks for all your comments

Presumably using your XP or Vista!

You need to change network settings into the laptop to allow remote connections according to the directives of the wired connection.

You will also need to make changes to the false firewall XP/Vista has as well.

FYI: The WAP54G has no way to filter all network traffic, so the question is not to the AP.

recently replaced EA3500 Cisco that quit smoking with WRT1900AC

DOES not connect to win 7 PC... worked fine with the old router (2 years)

reset the WRT1900AC to factory settings... allowed 2.4 and 5 ghz...

PC sees the wireless network and connects with password, still "NO internet connection".

    any ideas?

    Thank you waltinbatonrouge

Thanks a lot for taking the time to suggest a fix... But the WRT1900AC went back to Best Buy yesterday. Easy back, by the way.

Oh just a parenthesis... the WRT1900ac has finally connected ok Cat5. The speakeasy speedtest showed on 100-105Mbps of download, the same as the old EA3500 seized croasse.

So, instead, I found an EA3500 used in a store of the local computer. Reset default and he already had the latest firmware.

The old router Cisco EA3500 used the very simple "Cisco Conect" utility.

Forums directed me to a version EA3500 of the "Linksys WiFi Smart" utility, which was a painless and immediately picked up the wireless for laptop Toshiba.

He ran the same features on the speedtest and connected 'excellent' on room android...

  • Two years trying to get Toshiba laptop wireless connection works

I tried for two years to try and get the connection Wireless on my Toshiba laptop to work without much success. For a short period I managed to connect the laptop to a desktop computer's ad-hoc wireless and share the internet connection in this way but then it stopped working.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 - 15L model no PSU45E-00J005EN. It is with the 12.1 "screen and running Windows XP Pro sp3.

My wireless switch on the front of the laptop is turned on. It is also activated in the software Fn F5 wireless enabled, disabled bluetooth. I don't have Intel ProSet.

Already when I was able to establish an ad hoc connection using microsofts software. I had to manually activate the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) whenever even if, as he always began with disabilities or order even if I set it to start automatically. It is a monumental PITA.

When I try and connect to the ADSL wireless router (Belkin N150) using the Toshiba Software, I get the message error "application from another provider is controlling the wireless adapter.

I get all the time, even though I turned off Microsoft Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC).

I thought that Windows controlled always somehow it even though I disabled WZC, so after reading solutions in other posts, that I tried to go...

    -> Control Panel-> network connections-> wireless-> properties-wireless networks tab > uncheck "use Windows to configure...". ».

But unfortunately there is not 'the wireless networks tab' in there, all I have is the other two tabs. And since trying to use Toshibas software to connect wireless using their Radar thing, now when I click the wireless network connection in there the message "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection. If you have enabled another program to configure this wireless connection, use that software. »

Can someone on the forum or using Toshiba please?

    Thank you

    John

Two years? Sorry, but I can't believe it.

If everything is Ok and I mean if there is no hardware problem you n t need more than two minutes for the WLAN configuration.

As a first step, you must be sure that the wireless network card is installed correctly (Device Manager).
Wireless network card must also be enabled correctly (switch > check FN + F8 > check ConfigFree tool).
When the wireless network card that it is correctly enabled scan (check the status of ConfigFree) the area with RADAR option in ConfigFree.
    You will find this option?
    You can scan the area?
Some WLAN is visible for your laptop?

  • Wireless cause: the network connection from the laptop to the router, but internet access comes and goes through procedures to 'fix '.

The Dell laptop I bought is little used, not refurbished a downsizing Corporation.  I bought a refurbished by Cisco, Cisco Linksys router.  I can't stay on the internet for any period of time.  At the time that I open the browser, after the wireless connection, it goes your 'connected' to 'no internet access.  If I go through the diagnosis and fix it, it says I'm connected, but 'no Internet' returns quickly.  It shows a diagram of the connectivity of the laptop to the router but not to the internet router.  I had a second router refurb sent, and it does the same thing.

This is all new to me (wireless and mobile), so my words my being turned off, but I wonder if it might be the wireless card, or network card (or is it just a different name for the router).  I mean, it's something in the laptop.  If I plug the DSL directly into the laptop, I have a perfect internet connection, so I did not thing is my provider.

    Any help/suggestions appreciated!

My issue was with the ATT modem not set to fill mode.  modem was not accept what he said was the router.

  • Using the two connections of cable and wireless on a laptop Windows 7

I have a wireless router on my home network, which works very well.  Sometimes, I connect my laptop with a wired connection for faster speed during file transfer.  When I do that, I have 2 network connections: Wi - Fi and wireless.  Should I disconnects me wireless connection, or is it possible to have both connections at the same time?  Is it possible to configure Windows 7 to disconnect the wireless when it detects a wired connection?

    Thank you.

It's OK to have two connections.  Windows automatically uses the one with the highest rated speed.

I don't know how to have it automatically disconnect one of them. Steve Winograd, most Microsoft Valuable Professional (desktop experience)

  • Why my laptop wireless computer connect to the internet first thing in the morning and late at night, but not during the day.

I wonder if you can help me please?

I have problems with my satellite internet access on my laptop wireless.  He beautifully connects to the router and the signal is excellent. However, I'm unable to connect to the internet.  I can use the laptop first thing in the morning because it connects right away, but I would say that 95% of the day I can't use it at all.  Sometimes it will work later in the evening.  I learned this could be due to the intensity of the signal and that some suppliers to fall during the day.  My desk top connects perfectly (if the weather permits it) but is not on the wireless network.  I had no problem with my laptop when I used my previous service provider.  It becomes more frustrating that the inability to use the internet visited my lap top unnecessary.  I can't use it on my neighbors wireless network no problem at all but they we internet different provider.  Can you please help because I don't know why it works first thing in the morning and sometimes late at night, but not during the day?  No matter where the lap top is the first thing in the morning, it will work even if it is forty feet away.  I can sit during the day with my phone right by my router and it still not connect to internet even though the router signal strength is excellent and desktop is on the internet.  Any help would be great, because it leads me into the wall!  I am using WIndows 7 on my lap top from acer.

    Kind regards

    Julie

I would like to thank everyone for their help with my question.  I can tell you now that I have it solved and I'm pretty embarrassed to say the least.  Following a change of internet service provider, I put a cable into the wrong port on the router... silly me!  It works perfectly now. Thank you once again.

  • Laptop says that it cannot find certificate needed to connect to D.Link wireless router

Laptop warned Validating identity when I try to connect to D.Link wireless router signals.

If you get the error message is the one mentioned in the subject of your message, it means that you have turned on (probably unintentionally) 'corporate' wireless security type (aka 802.1 x).

Right-click on the icon of your adapter wireless network connections, and then select Properties.

    Click the wireless networks tab.

In the list of "Preferred networks", select the entry for your network and click on the button 'properties '.

    Click on the tab "authentication."

Make sure the box "Enable IEEE 802. 1 x authentication for this network"is disabled.

    OK your way out.

    Restart (just in case).

  • I need this laptop wireless connection to my office wired printer. How

I want to this laptop wireless connection to my office wired printer. How can I do that. I tried to do the thing of the shared printer, but my office is old and uses windows xp, and of course, this laptop uses windows 7. My printer is an epson stylus photo r320. I want to have my wife's cell phone to also be able to access the printer. I connect to the internet via a cable comcast and have a linksys N Router e2500. I want to do this as cheaply and simply as possible. Thank you

    Hello:

First you must enable sharing of files and printers in Windows XP. During this process, you need to change the name of your to WORKGROUP MSHOME workgroup to match the workgroup name in Windows 7.

You should also turn on file sharing and printers in Windows 7, and turn off password protected sharing.

When you have done all that, click View workgroup computers on the XP PC. You should see the two PC listed.

With the laptop to Windows 7, you should see the printer connected to your computer listed with the desktop computer (you may need to click on see the whole map when you open the network and sharing Center). Click on the printer and click on connect. I hope that the printer is capable of Windows 7. If it isn't, it will give you an error that it cannot find an appropriate driver or another error.
