Connect a second computer to the wireless printer

I just installed the Envy 4500 printer software and everything works fine. I would like to be able to print from second computer but have been unable to locate instructions on how to install on a second computer. Can someone direct me to the instructions?

Hello

The track is similar to the first computer: place the CD software and drivers that comes with the pronter on the second, third,... computer and run the installation.

Kind regards.

I spent hours on the phone with a representative of brother yesterday to try and get my DCP-L2540DW communicate with my computer without the computer being on wi - fi, without success. We already all this up and running, but we had to get a new router and configured Time Warner Cable technician differently things. I tried to re-creation of the network on the printer, but that did not fix the problem.

I tried following all the steps that I can find online and the brother of troubleshooting, but I had no luck with either. Thanks in advance for any help

Lets try to connect the printer using the LAN cable connection and see if you can get your PC to connect to this first. Disable all wireless on the printer and the whole upward for the connection of LAN cable.

FYI: If the ISP's modem has a built-in router, it is best to fill the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: link >http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm if the modem cannot be filled then see if the modem has a DMZ option and enter the IP address of the router gets the modem and put it in the DMZ modems. Disable any WiFi modem from the ISP and filters such as firewalls and other. Make sure that the printer and the PC is connected to the EA router and not the ISP's modem.

  • Cannot connect Windows XP computer to the wireless router

Original title: why did I have to disable my ethernet on my front XP computers connections all of a sudden they would connect to my wireless network

    I installed a new AT & T wireless router

Only my Windows 7 laptop would connect to the new wireless router.

For my XP desktop and the laptop I had to disable the ethernet connections [although no cable not connected] so that the wireless to connect.

I did it on a whim after days of not being able to connect and many calls to support AT & T.

Both computers have shown the presence of the network, had 4 or 5 bars and had the right key WAP.

So what did this happen?  XP update?  Wireless driver update?  The AT & T router?

I had the problem until I'm the new router, AT & T AT & T could find nothing wrong with the old.

Their "solution" was to send a new router - Netgear v the Westell, I had for days of Bellsouth.

    Hello

Have you tried to proceed as stated in my previous post?
If you want to continue to launch other steps, you try to temporarily disable the firewall and check. Check out the following link.
How can I turn on or turn off the firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later versions?

Note: on disabling firewalls, viruses, or malware can get into the system. After you complete this step of troubleshooting, turn on the firewall.
Note: A firewall is software or hardware that checks information coming from the Internet or a network. Then, the firewall blocks the information or allows information to pass to your computer. If the information is blocked or passed through depends on your firewall settings. A firewall can prevent malicious software (such as worms) to access your computer through a network or the Internet. A firewall can also help stop your computer from malware sent to other computers. Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) include firewall software.

We recently upgraged to a new blank media 3 hub, the printer is connected to a Hp Windows Vista desktop via USB, other devices (laptops and tablets) could access the wireless printer when the computer is turned on.

I also created the same printer to be used wireless by the other devices without the Office of marketing, it was a pain having to keep it logging on when he fell asleep. The printer had a different name if you are using one.

After that the hub of the Virgin was installed I can is no longer using the printer without the Office being wireless, the new Center can not find the printer connects as is done before that other laptops, I had no problem with my old hub and a separate router.

I've tried everything as suggested by Virgin (not much there) and reinstalled my drivers for the printer. Any suggestions what I can do?

  • Cannot connect Windows XP to the wireless printer.

WINDOWS XP PRINTER WI - FI CONNECTION

I have Windows XP Media Center Service Pack 3 OS that worked a HP Photosmart Plus B209 a - m with a USB cable.  Since I just bought a new laptop (Windows 7 Professonal OS) I decided to create a home network with a router Cradlepoint MBR 900.  The two laptops (XP and 7 OSs) were connected to the internet via the router with no problems.  Windows 7 Pro OS laptop is connected wireless to the printer Photosmart Plus, I had implemented as confiquiration wireless the printer first.  But the failure of the attempt to get the OS Windows XP Media Center to connect to the wireless printer.  During the installation process to connect the printer to the XP system wireless it asked me to choose which printer I wanted to connect to.  The Photosmart Plus printer was selected and visible, then I clicked Next.  Shortly after, a small screen appeared stating the "serscan.sys" file could not be found and I have to insert a Windows XP Pro CD to get the file or run the installer of this file.  This issue has occurred both when I tried to install it with the CD provided by HP and when I tried installing the HP download website.  All I have is a recovery for Windows XP disk provided with the laptop and not a CD Windows XP Pro.  What should I do to fix this?  Thanks, Lonnie

Thanks, that was fast.  Please, let me make sure I have this correct.  First of all, I have two recovery disks provided with the computer, with Windows XP Media Edition and one for the drivers.  I should not use either of these disks, right?  If I had the previous correct answer then let me ask the following question;  When looking to borrow the disc should be Windows XP Media Edition or can I borrow any disk of Windows XP?  Kim Merci for your help continues.  Lonnie

    Lonnie,

Before the hunting around for friends who might have a CD, do the following research.  For each of them, make sure that you have checked the search options in the 'Advanced Options' to

    • Search system folders
    • Search for files and hidden folders
    • Search subfolders

Search your entire hard drive and both CDs you have to serscan.  Do not include the .sys at the end of the file name.

Search for Driver.cab.  Report of the Office (s).  On your hard disk, you should find one or both

    • C:\Windows\i386\Driver.cab
    • C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab

You can also find these files on the "recovery disk".

Report what you find, including locations of found nothing.  It is possible (but I don't think likely) you will find a file named serscan.sy_ - If Yes, include this information in your results.

Or, if you want to ignore all this, you can download serscan.sys since my SkyDrive-->

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?CID=18b259158254905b&RESID=18B259158254905B! 225 & Thierry = 18B259158254905B! 214

The file should go to C:\Windows\system32\dllcache (a hidden directory) and probably in C:\Windows\system32 (I do not use this file, if it is not in my system32 folder).

Or you can just save it to your desktop and "direct the Setup" it there (if you do this, check more later to confirm that he got into C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and if not, put a copy).

Error 0 x 00000643 error when you try to install a Kodak wireless printer. When tried to install the wireless printer, wireless printer is ready to install I get a PnPx device Microsoft authorization. Runs like it is installing then error is presented. I tried fixit did not work... Frustrated

You could settle on a previous installation. Try this:

Go to your device manager and see if you have an old installation of the printer and right click Uninstall. You can also check if there is an old facility of the printer in Control Panel, printers, right click and delete it. Install the printer using the Add Printer Wizard. If it fails again with the same error, go to Device Manager right click on the name of your computer, click on "Scan for harware changes". He must find the printer and install it. Now you can check your printer if its work. If this does not work, please indicate your model of printer on your next reply.

  • RT of Windows cannot locate the wireless printer

I have a new Surface Windows RT (not 8.1) and I'm unable to connect to my printer wireless on my home wireless network.  The printer (Brother MFC-J625JW) is listed as a compatible printer Windows RT by Microsoft and brother.  My printer is on, visible on my laptop Windows 7 via the wifi network and works normally.  The Surface is connected to the same network.  I entered in the control panel > adding a device.  The printer does not appear in the list.  In fact, the only thing that appears in the list (momentarily) is someone from another PC - but not my printer.   How can I get the Surface to find my wireless printer that seems to operate other devices normally and is on the same wireless network?  Thank you.

Success.  The wireless printer now appears in the "Devices list".    The breakthrough came after installing the Windows Update screen Firmware updates.  I had already updated for Windows RT 8.1 (after my original message) from the window Store (free), but that has not fixed the problem.  I then went in the Panel, search the Windows updates.  Windows found 27 updates of firmware update that it installed.  2 reboots are needed.  After that, the printer has appeared in my list of devices.

    In response to your questions:

    1. & 2.   You are right: it is the MFC-J625DW.

    3. never checked directly connect USB since the Surface RT (now 8.1) was showing the printer.

    Thank you.
