connect the sensor (0-5V analog output and 9-28Vcc power) to NI 9219

I m chemical student here. And I'm not trying on the measurement of the pressure.

I have a pressure sensor with the specification of 0 to 5 Vdc analog outputs and power supply 9-28Vcc. And I intend to plug the connector which can be used for the NI 9219 (4 analog input). Therefore, there are 6 terminals and I have to choose the correct mode voltage (which is the terminal 1, 2, 4 and 5 which will be used), is?

So there are four wires for my sensor connector:

Red: power supply (+)

Black: Return supply (-)

White: Output 0 to 5V

Green: output

Therefore, how to connect these wires to the national instrument?

Looking forward to you guys.

Thank you.

Best regards

David

Hey David,

My previous suggestion is wrong, it's good.

Red (pressure sensor) = + power supply

Black (pressure sensor) = - power

Green (pressure sensor) = Hi, pin 4 (9219)

White (pressure sensor) = Lo, pin 5 (9219)

Sincerely,

Krisna

  • How to write constantly to analog output and read from analog inputs

    Hi all -

I had a question about writing continuously to analog output reading simultaneously an analog input.

It's my first time to post a message to the community, so please let me know if I made mistakes.

    I use Labview 2011 with a NEITHER-DAQ USB 6215.

I'm looking to generate a waveform and write it continuously in an analog output. It is then connected to an entry on the acquisition of data, where I am trying to sample the analog signal. (I realize, there is a system of trivial, but I'm hoping to build on it once I have run).

The task of reading from the analog input works fine, as I tested it in several other cases. I have a problem writing to the analog output.

For this task, I tried to follow the "Gen Cont Wfm Clck Int' VI to generate the wave form and start the task. I then try to write to the output of the analog timed loop. However, it does not seem to transmit a signal and doesn't give me any errors.

I have attached the VI but also a screenshot.

Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. I would really appreciate the help!

    Thank you

We will review your tasks one at a time.  First of all, the task of generation/Analog output Waveform.  Generate you a waveform (I'm unsure of your VI if it is a fixed waveform or not) and send it to a defined output function to produce a waveform continuously, using N-channel and samples of N (where you set not these previously).  You should not put this inside has timed loop, as the DAQ hardware has its own clock - if you simply put it in a while loop (with a stop to break out of the loop), the loop will call the function for the first points of N, wait until all N have been taken out, then call it again to another N points (up to what you press Stop).

Now, suppose that you have the output connected to a load voltage (say a decent resistance).  You can wire the input terminals of your A/D converter through the same load and set up a similar analog input loop, running in parallel (i.e. in its own independent of the OD loop, while loop).  You pourriez start together (with, say, a merged error since the initialization code line loops HAVE and AO become lines of error in "loops of sampling" described above), but you might want to delay loop (a little) the AI so that the OD has a chance to set the voltage before the bed.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to change the gain of an analog output

I want to have a resolution of at least 500 v microphone. I thought that you could do this in two ways: one, to determine the maximum and minimum values, and two, to change the gain of the channel. I use a PCI MIO 16th 4, also known as the name of PCI 6040E and a CBS 68.

The NO 6040E manual family I read than analog output bit resolution is 12 bits. Usually a range of 0 - 10V or - 5V - + 5V, which gives about 2.44mV resolution. I thought that by changing the minimum and maximum output values I could therefore change the range and therefore to change the resolution. I want at least a 500microV (0.0005V) resolution. By changing the range 0 - 1V, I should get around 244.14 microV resolution.

The thing is that when I run my simple program, it displays the voltage I want, but it only increments around every 5 iterations of said 500microV, which is around the default resolution of 2.44mV, which indicates that the resolution has not changed (I use an osciloscope to measure physical strength).

My other option to change the gain should how to proceed, if possible. But I don't know where and how change that, and he does not appear in the DAQmx channel properties. Any ideas on how to do this, or perhaps another solution to my problem?

P.S. That's a linear ramp drive a piezo and take pictures while doing so, just in case you were wondering why I wanted to solve this problem.

Thank you for any help in advance!

You have not read the card correctly. The analog output is a range of 0-10 or + /-10.

  • How can I impliment a delay between the analog output and analog input (started by an external analog trigger)?

I am acquiring several channels of analog voltage input at the same time, I need to send an output analog two seconds after the start of the entry.

I'm running an experience with accelerometers on a query table.
I start the trigger and the table remains still for two seconds, which allows a reference level for all sensors.
Then the output signal of the VI removes the break in the motor controller.
The speed measured by the encoder is sent to one of the input channels.

In this way, our accel and speed data are synchronized.

After it acquired the analog input data out put must be reset to zero.

  • Failure to connect the HotSync Palm TX 4.2 and Office XP Pro

I have a Palm TX with v. 4.2 OS and HotSync residing in a XP Pro PC.

When you perform the HotSync operation, controlled by the cable button, either very often fails because unable to connect to the PC or the device is not recognized.

After several attempts, HotSync works fine, using the same USB port.

This problem isn't to blame on the desktop environment or is there something that can be fixed on the Palm software?

The TX comes with Palm OS 5.4.9 installed - 4.2 is very probably the version of Palm Desktop, you are running.

The problem could be easily the cable itself, or dirty contacts on the bottom of the unit.  Check the HotSync port gold on the TX sign of dirt, oil or corrosion.  Cleaning of this area with Contact Cleaner (available at electronics stores) or isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab can solve the problem.

If you have another available HotSync cable that you can borrow, I would suggest that-a break in one of the tiny wires inside could produce the symptoms you describe.

  • To determine if a form using the command (Unix) HOST of output and a running process.

    Hi all

I know some (little) on the forms. But here, I had a requirement that has been confusing me. The requirement is, we have almost 70 developed custom forms
using TEMPLATE.fmb.Now I have to open each form and check if this form using any HOST (unix) command to exit the shell and
run a process. I never had this type of requirements previously. Can any one help in finding these commands, IE is there any standard to use Unix call in
    specific trigger or etc...

    Thanks in advance.

Just search HOST. You do it directly in the generator, using the "find and replace PL/SQL" located in the menu Builder. Exactly where you can find depends on exactly which version of forms you use, but I think that in most of the more recent versions, it's under Edit.

  • To input analog shutdown when the analog output is completed and synchronization

    Hello

I'm trying to get my LabVIEW program to send analog output to a computer and read acceleration using the cDAQ-9184. Chassis output that I use is the NI 9263 and the chassis of entry is the NI 9234. I generate a signal of white noise using LabVIEW Express signal generator.

The first problem I have is the synchronization. I had an old VI that has begun to measure the acceleration just about a second after the entry has been given to the machine. I used the LabVIEW tutorial on how to sync the analog input and output, only to discover that it does not work with two different hunts. Then I found another tutorial that shows how to synchronize different frames between them.

The second problem is the cessation of the LabVIEW program. What I want to do is to generate the signal and then simultaneously send and read the input and output analog, respectively. It is because I don't want a phase difference or any shorter signal for a direct comparison. But as soon as the signal is sent to the machine, I want the entry to stop analog playback and then then the LabVIEW program must stop. I want to be able to choose any length of signal to be generated and stop as soon as the entire duration of the signal has been sent to the machine.

I tried 'DAQmx stop', "DAQmx Timer" and 'DAQmx's task made?' and none of them have worked for me. It is also my first time on a forum posting, so I hope I gave enough information. I enclose my VI as well. The VI shows I read an entry for the analog input voltage, but I am only using this to try to get to the work programme.

I'd appreciate any help I could get.

    Thanks in advance

    Peter

    Hi Peter,.

I have some recommendations for you that I think you will get closer to your solution. First of all, I assumed you meant that you had 1 chassis (cDAQ-9184) who had two modules in it (NOR-9263 and NOR-9234). My next steps are based on this assumption, so if it's wrong, please let me know.

For your first question about the synchronization, the code you provided is very close to what you need. You need to do, however, implement architecture master/slave for startup tasks DAQmx functions. To do this, you can add another frame to the flat sequence structure and put the master start task (input voltage) after the start slave (output voltage) task.

To manage your second question and that the program ends at the point where you, the first step is to get rid of all the logic that you use with the local variable of length of time. Rather than use this logic, just wire the node "task performed?" of "is task performed?" operate to stop the loop. This will cause your loop to stop as soon as the signal is sent to the machine.

I have some other recommendations for you that will increase the performance of your program:

    (1) rather than writing on file inside the last loop, you can use the DAQmx Configure Logging (PDM) .vi. You will place this VI between DAQmx Timing.vi and DAQmx Start Task.vi to the task of the analog input voltage.

    (2) after the last while loop, you want to stop the task and analog outputs as well with another DAQmx stop Task.vi.

    (3) rather than using a local variable for the entrance of displacement and wiring it in the DAQmx Write.vi, you can wire directly from the output waveform of the wave to build function node.

That should help you get started in the synchronization of these tasks.

  • How can I check if the counter entry is synchronized with the analog output?

    Hello

I'm working on an application for counting photons.  I use two channels of analog output on a PCI-6713 card to send a frame model to a set of XY scan mirrors.  I then a photon count unit that emits a TTL signal when the photons are detected as a result of this raster analysis.  I then use a surfboard USB-6211 to count the edges on this TTL signal.

I have problems that seem due to synchronization problems.  I use the sample AO on the PCI-6713 card clock like the door of my meter on the map USB-6211.  I use a trigger to start digital to analog output and a trigger of arms for the entrance to counter early. Is there a way to check that the analog output and counter entry of start of operations at the same time and are are synchronized?  I basically want to monitor and compare the ao real sample of the PCI-6713 card clock door signal used by the jury of the USB-6211.  I was able to export the sample AO clock and watch it on my oscilloscope, but not the signal from the door of the USB-6211.

    Thanks for your help,

    Brian

Update... It turns out that there is no problem of synchronization between my meter input and the analogue output.  There was a difference of impedance when I connected my unit of counting photons to my USB-6211.  This caused an error variable count rate.  After accouting for this shift, the problem disappeared.

  • Subtracting the two waveforms, an acquired using DAQ voltage analog input and the other being generated internally

    Hello NOR community,

I'm new to LabView and was hoping someone might be able to help with a question I have. Currently, I use a data acquisition unit to sample external sine and I would like to change this signal by adding another signal that I could control using the front panel. Whenever I try just connect entry with something like the waveform sinusoidal vi and put a subtraction sign between them it doesn't work (I get an empty waveform graph). To work around this problem, I've resorted to a signal (via an analog output) and followed by reading the signal to data acquisition, and then finally I add the two together. It works this way, but he wastes two channels and I imagine that there is a better way. I enclose my VI, and I have marked the location of interest "where signals get subtracted ', which is currently displayed using two entries.

    Thank you

    Leo

You must ensure that your sampling frequency and number of samples is the same.  It seems that your sample (with default values) rate is the same (1 kHz), but your number of samples is different (100 to 1000 the acquisition wave vs simulation).

  • Trigger start analogue does not work for the tasks of the analog output

Hello. I wonder - what someone has tested the trigger mode analog start for continuous output voltage-. example of VI under hardware input and output - analog output folder in the Labview.

My camera's SMU-6358, who has two lines APFI and supports analog trigger. Although it is very difficult to find information on the use of analog trigger for analog output of the tasks, what I've learned so far is to connect the interested analog trigger signal (such as an external noise) on both the AI channel which is used as a source of relaxation (ai0 in my case) and a two-channel (APFI0 in my case) APFI.

During the test the example above vi, any level of relaxation that I put (even with 0), the task of output did not work at all. No error message is returned either. Just for your information, I do physical tests, not only the software simulation, so no signal means no signal.

    Any help is appreciated!

I have here is that the solutions to this issue, just want to say thank you to all who have helped me on this subject.

Use the analog analog trigger output tasks, make sure that the trigger signal (input HERE) is connected to APFI0. There is no need to connect the trigger even signal to ai0 if you do not want to save the trigger signal. However, if you do not want to save the trigger signal, connect the trigger signal to both ai0 and APFI0 with a signal splitter. In the latter case, the task of the AI shouldn't take the same trigger that the task of the ao. This means that you can start your registration with or without a trigger, while leaving the task of ao wait a trigger of some signal. This is useful in a situation that you only want to generate ao task to a certain trigger event, as when a signal reaches a certain level of sound pressure.

    Hello

This issue of the fingerprint has been described in another thread.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=81261

You should be able to solve the problem installing the chipset driver.
Another user said, an installation of Proset Ethernet drivers/software was necessary to get the problem resolved. But to be honest that I put t think that missing Proset utility would cause the question

Simulate it Arbitrary Waveform VI Express can be used to generate analog signals to the physical channels in analog output mode systems such as the NI 9263? I am trying to use the VI arbitrary signal generator to produce a signal used to excite the magnetic coils.

Why don't you just try and see what happens?  As far as I know, it should work.

  • What is the minimum response of analog input, through DSP online, output analog time?

    Hello experts!

I want to know if it is possible to get a very quick response latency (~ 1 ms) sound recording (analog input), through online registration (DSP online), the presentation of his (analog output) processing, by using the DAQmx programming codes. My system of NEITHER includes NOR SMU 8135, SMU 6358 DAQ Multifunction controller and SMU 5412 arbitrary signal generator. I also have access to the latest version of Labview (2015 Version) software.

My project is on auditory disturbances, which inovles record vocalizations, manipulating the recorded vocalziations and then present the manipulated vocalizations. My current idea of how to achieve this fact triggered output voltage after reading the input using DAQmx Read samples. DAQmx Read output is filtered online and then passed as input for the DAQmx writing for analog output. For purposes of illustration, examples of code are presented below. Note for simplisity, codes for the trigger part are not presented here. It's something to work in the future.

My question here is If the idea above should be reaching ~ 1ms delay? Or I have to rely on a totally different programming module, the FPGA? I am very new to Labview so as to NEITHER. After reading some documentation on FPGA, I realized that my current hardware is unable to do so because I do not have the FPGA signals processing equipment. Am I wrong?

Something might be important to mention, I'm tasting with network (approximately 16 microphones) microphones at very high sampling rate (250 kHz), which is technically very high speed. Natually, these records must be saved on hard drive. Here again, a single microphone is shown.

I have two concerns that my current approach could achieve my goal.

First, for the DAQmx Read function in step 2, I put the samples to be read as 1/10 of the sampling frequency. It's recommended by Labview and so necessary to avoid buffer overflow when a smaller number is used. However, my concern here associated with the latency of the answer is that it might already cause a delay of 100 ms response, i.e. the time to collect these samples before reading. Is this true?

Secondly, every interaction while the loop takes at least a few tens of milliseconds (~ 30 ms). He is originally a State 30 late?

Hey, I've never used or familiar with the hardware you have. So I can't help you there.

On the side of RT, again once I don't know about your hardware, but I used NOR myRIO 1900, where he has a personality of high specific speed for the RT where I can acquire the kHz Audio @44 and process data. Based image processing is ultimately do the treatment on a wide range of audio data you have gathered through high sampling frequency and number number of samples as permitted by latency, please check this .

I lost about 2 weeks to understand host-side does not work and another 2 weeks to understand the even side of RT does not work for online processing (real time). Then, finally now I'm working on FPGA, where the sampling rate is 250 kHz (of course shared by multiple channels).

The complex thing with FPGA is coding, please check if the filter you want is given below as labview automatically generates some codes of some filters.

Most of them will work in 1 SCTL IE if your target has 40 MHz clock algorithm will run in 25 ns. That's what I was looking for, I hope you

    See you soon... !

  • 6071E analog out and trigger to the end

Hi, I'm here a trivial question: using PCI6071E, at the end of an analog output, is it possible for a trigger to output or update a number line?  for example, we hope when the last MONOSTABLE one sample is done, a digital HIGH is generated to power a switch.  I can think of have an analog and digital task task and the digital task at the end of an analog task in the program, but I don't know how long the delay would be. The best ways to do this? Thank you!

Analog output: finished/large size but NOT via the trigger of FIFO, internal CLK software,

    on DAQmx / C + c++ / WinXP

    eLions,

Analog task followed by a digital task that you thought would work, but it would be a delay of small software timed as you thought it would which can cause problems. If it's an analog output of finite size (say 1000 samples), what you can do is to synchronize the digital and analogue tasks together and have a digital low for 1000 samples, with the 1001eme exit on the digital line being the maximum. It would make no delay, as analog and digital line should be sharing the same frequency. C++ examples provided show how to sync analog analog output, which can be changed by the digital output.
