Connect to a printer HP Laserjet 4100 (parallel port only) to a USB 2.0 on the 64-bit computer.

Can I use a parallel (connector 25 pins) - to - cable USB adapter to connect a HP Laserjet 4100 to a computer on Windows 7 (64 bit)? There is no other available ports on this old printer

It is possible, but there have been many reports of the USB parallel adapter does not.

The Belkin adapter seems to work for many.

I have a new Dell PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) that does not have a parallel port to connect an old HP Laserjet 4 printer.  I bought a USB to parallel to connect the PC to the printer.  When turn on/off the printer, W7 installed an IEEE-1284 controller that appears in the unspecified list of devices in the control panel.  I "Has added a new printer", select "USB001 virtual printer USB port", then choose the correct printer driver (after "Windows Update" get a longer list).  When you try to print a test page, the 'ready' light on the printer starts to print, but nothing else happens.

After experimenting with different settings, I was able to get a page to print that says "* s1M.  I don't know how it happened or what it means.  This suggests that the PC is 'talk' to the printer.  However, I was unable to reproduce this.

You do not have a parallel port on the machine.  Whatever it is sent to the parallel port device should fail on writing.   Change the port to the port of USB00n, created when you plugged the cable.  You will see the port listed in the list of ports.  This will usually USB001 when you have not all printers attached otherUSB. • How to install a printer port parallel port Pavilion dv5 Notebook usb

When trying to install my printer HP DeskJet 610C Parallel Port on my HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit, I followed the instructions given by the HP Support about two years back.

I connected the two devices with a parallel port cable / USB. The PC loaded and confirmed the correct driver. (On the advice of sites on the Internet, I made repeated attempts to install the printer carefully, to no avail).

Then my deliverance, the Print, the printer statement invariably prints two copies of what appears to be "gibberish" in two lines at the beginning of the worksheet. Subsequently, she picks up and ejects then 6-8 sheets of white paper.

Any help to resolve this abnormal situation will be welcome and appreciated.

I would add that the printer works normally when connected in parallel to an old Notebook Compaq Armada 1750 (XP OS). In this case also, the parallel/USB worked as in the PC Pavilion, above.

  • LPT1 in the hardware Manager, but not in the virtual machine settings. Parallel port software unable to find LPT. Windows 7, 64-bit and XP virtual

    Hallo,

the forum is full of questions similar to mine and everything seems complete without useful answers some time early last year. I would like to give a try today to see if I get a solution.

Have Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit and installed XP mode to be able to use the chip programming hardware (GALEP-III), which is connected via the Parallel Port. Downloaded XP mode later than yesterday (24.02.2011) Microsoft.

In the XP box, the LPT1 port appears in the hardware Manager. But it does not appear in the settings for the XP mode. The Galep software starts just fine, but can't find the PARALLEL port.

As written above, there are many people who have the same problem and seem to have gotten no solution. One piece of advice I found was to modify the VMC

    LPT1 (378 h-37Fh)

    1

The above did not work. I think it was for a different version of XP-mode.

Then there was advice on LPT need 378 h-37Fh. It's fine with my pc.

Then, there was a Council to stop the 'Print Spool' Service on the host pc. I tried in vain.

So, if there is a solution to my problem, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

(Note: I'm not interested to connect a printer.) I have an IC programming material that can connect only through a parallel port. It also comes with a security dongle. GALEP III).

  • Shared 64-bit Adobe PDF Converter, the error "Invalid Handle". (The 32-bit computer print request)

    I have at my disposal a Windows 7, 64-bit, laptop and a Windows Server 2008, 32-bit.

My suite Adobe CC is installed on the laptop, but the server needs to stay as stripped down as possible.

There are help files built into some software (on the server) I want to convert to PDF format rather than print them. As with many printers, I thought that I could share the PDF driver installed by Acrobat Pro software, and then just send the coil on the server. I fell initially on missing driver problems, so I google a solution where there are additional drivers contained in program files (x 86). However, there were several enigmatic named "* .inf" any files that showed up some certificates of 6 driver that all had the same name. Talk about directions being useless, even if they were right. In all cases, the first installation of the driver came with promising results, but no final file. I thought I could just update the shared, 32-bit driver, but will understand that the option to refresh the secondary driver was not found. The recognized common dialogue clearly, I installed one, but an option to update or manual removal is not provided.

I'm at a point where I'd like Adobe to just show me some love and throw the 32-bit Setup program Adobe PDF Converter that would have been incorporated into earlier versions of Adobe Acrobat. If anyone could lead me in the right direction to solve my problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Acrobat is not approved for use on the server. If you can print PostScript on the server, you can take the postscript file and distill them on your version of Distiller.

  • HP LaserJet 4100: Problem with the universal print driver

    Desktop: HP Envy 700-214

    OS: 10 64-bit Windows

Printer: HP LaserJet 4100 (with a USB to parallel cable)

I was able to properly use my LaserJet for Windows 8.1 through my Windows 10 crossing (which I upgraded to about 18 months ago).  Quite recently, I welcomed Windows Installer a upgrade, and at this time there, I lost my ability to print.   It has been on my default printer, but gave an error message when I tried to print.

I tried to "Add a printer" and selected the HP 4100 connected to the LPT1 port.  It would not print a test page, and the printer does not like in the reception of data.

I then tried to install the (PCL6 and Postscript) universal print driver with similar lack of results.

I tried uninstallinDeg and reinstall the drivers, but once again no joy.  Incidentally, although I'm going to Device Manager > printing queues and remove the drivers, when I set up an application like Word and select the Menu printing, many copies of drivers rest yet.  When I go to remove them using the printui/s/T2, it is said that they are currently in use and cannot be deleted.

Yet once again, I repeat - it is not a hardware problem because everything worked well before Windows upgrade.  I just need to find a way to reinstall a driver who will speak to my printer.  It of frustrating because I was able to do that before, but may not know what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello GaryLynn,

You saw did a lot of things to try to solve this issue.

However the USB to parallel isn't anHP officially supported connection type.

in any case, what suggests I´d, is that you try this:

    • Unplug the hybrid cable that you use
    • Uninstall all copies of the printer and its duplicates.
    • Stop the print spooler by using the services on windows (type on cortana services.msc) locate print spooler and stop it
    • Go to run and coil type, look at the Printers folder and delete all the files that are there (if any)
    • Restart the spooler to print services.
    • Download and install this driver package
      http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=FP-148007-1
    • Turn on your printer and connect the cable.

After this exercise, check to see if windows 10 has managed to find the best driver to use your printer.
If widows did not automatically find it, try the manual on add a Printer Wizard.

If not reading as LPT1, check ports either USB00 ' # ' or a port DOT4, those who should be the ports to use.

I hope this helps you get your printer going again.

    Thank you

  • How to get the driver to a parallel printer using windows update without a parallel port on my laptop?

I have an asus WL500g and I use it as a print server. On my big pc on windows 7. I managed to install the driver on the printer directly on the pc connection an update of windows to get the driver of the Sina. After installing the driver I passed it to the port by using the ip address of my router. It works, but my laptop doesn't have a parallel port, so it is not possible to obtain the driver. What can I do?

You do not want drivers for parallel port on the laptop anyway given that the laptop is not connect via the parallel port, but rather on the network. You would most likely want to install drivers on the laptop Asus print server, and then print to a network printer drivers. Download the Asus former and latter printer mftr. • Unable to print double-sided on my printer HP (laserjet CP2025)

I have a HP laptop and printer (color laserjet CP 2025) for about a year. When I bought the printer, it says that the printer is not compatible with Windows 7 - I didn't know this until I bought the printer. I had to reset my computer recently and now do not have the ability to print double-sided.  The printer works but I cannot print two-sided unless I have insert pages manually.  I had the ability to print two-sided before resetting the computer.  Help! It's the most frustrating experience, and I hesitate to buy another product from HP because of THIS BAD EXPERIENCE.  When under warranty, I was able to contact HP and received information on how to get the printer either fully functional, I can't do now.  Does anyone know how to get this function to work? Help, please.

Thank you! I just had to disable manual duplex printing and my printer (2025dn) now prints on both sides of the paper.

Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get my printer to 5520 hp set up via USB

Although all my software is installed I get the pront is not connected via USB

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. Did you ever connect the printer via the front USB port? If Yes, you did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. What is the exact error message, when you say,' no pront connected?
    3. Are you able to connect to any other computer-compatible USB media?

The question may arise if the parameters are enabled by the packet printer driver are misconfigured or if there are problem specific to the USB port only. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Refer following link to launch the utility of troubleshooting to diagnose & difficulty printer related issues:

    • Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then, under System, click the Managerof peripheral . If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    • In the list of hardware categories, find and expand the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives and do a right-click on the device driver and then click Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer.

  • HP930c driver for Compaq Presario again with no parallel port but...

I have a HP 930C printer, which works very well with as a local printer on the Dell desktop computer. I just bought a new laptop Compaq Presario CQ57, running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium, which I have "networked" to the Dell. Everything works fine BUT I want to print on the Compaq 930c, 'through' the Dell printer.

In other words, using the 930c as a network for the Compaq printer, never as local Compaq printer.

    PROBLEM:

to do this, I need a 930c on the Compaq driver: the original driver is on a DVD / CD that tells me that Win 7 is not up-to-date enough to Win 7 process, download the drivers from HP tells me the driver built into Windows 7 (!), but Win 7 can not finish installing the driver because the process requires that the 930C is connected to the device of Win 7 (Compaq). But the Compaq has no parallel port (only USB) so I can't plug it! And nor would I, I want to do all my printing via my network domestic (IE "by the Dell).

Useful thoughts or suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated - please!

    Best regards

    Hi dutchted,

Try following the steps below to manually add the shared printer:

First step: find the host name:

Since the Dell PC, right click on computer and select Properties.
Take note of the name of the computer.

Second step: find the share name:

Enter the control panel > devices and printers.

Right-click on the 930c printer, then select printer properties.

Enter the sharing tab, and take note of the share name.

Third step: define the shared printer on the client computer:

    1. Enter the control panel > printers and faxes.
    2. Click Add a printer.
    3. Select this option to Add a local printer.
    4. The bottom of the screen, create a new port by selecting the local railway.
    5. Set the port as \\COMPUTERNAME\SHARENAME name using the above values.
    6. Search for deskjet 930C nder H, if you do not find the driver, Windows Update, click wait several minutes until the list will reappear and select the printer Deskjet 930c, and then click OK.
    7. Follow the steps to complete the wizard, and try to print.

  • Press the button on parallel port signal to trigger a process

I just need to connect a pushbutton on the parallel port to set it as a signal of the beginning of a process.

Lines of data to use as input Some parallel ports can be configured for use as inputs data lines. This depends a lot on how the manufacturer has designed the parallel port. With some models the data lines can be read in the same way that we read the lines of control, leading them to logic high, so they will take the value of an external signal. However, most parallel ports require that you set the bit of sense for entry. It is bit 5 of the control register (base + 2). If the port is capable of it, setting the high bit for effect to sort of lines-State so it can be driven on the outside. Sometimes it is also necessary activate the 6 bit high or low. However, it is noted that some manufacturers actually block those bits so that the software can edit them. An example is shown below in Figure 7.
