Connect to Internet after reinstalling

I had to reinstall XP Pro to my mesh recovery disk. (blue screen of death) Is no longer an icon in the network window, so I can't set up or connect to Internet even activate XP again. How can I fix?

Hello

You are probably just need to install drivers for your Ethernet card and perhaps other parts also. If you are not provided with a CD of drivers by mesh, you could be in trouble, mesh downloads site is not available, it was "closed until further notice."

If you have the driver CD, it can "autoplay" and install all the drivers for you. If this is not the case, there is probably folders separated on the CD for each type of driver installation.

If you do not have a driver CD, or have problems with it, let us know for more asitance. If you have the CD but can not get the drivers installed, please provide information on what you're trying and what happens when you try it.

  • D7000 will not connect to internet after reinstalling

    Hello

We moved our D7000 modem router from one room to the other and now it does not connect to internet at all. I spoke with our ISP and everything is fine on their end. I connected the modem and reset our ISP connection & the password, and the ISP did the same thing, without effect. The phone line has been tested, it's ok. I swapped the cables to make sure that they are not defective. I moved the modem to return to the old location, but now it does not work there either.

WiFi seems to be ok and all our devices (phones, tablets, computer) recognize the wireless network and modem, but there is simply no internet connection. It is bizzarre! Nothing has changed, there is no new hardware, no updates or upgrades, the ISP is always the same, the only thing that differs is the location, in the same House.

The lights on the router modem are as follows:

    Food - white

    Internet - amber

    DSL - off

    WiFi - white

Any ideas what I could try to make it work again? Should I do a factory reset on it? This could be the cause? Move a modem do not stop working. We only had since November so it isn't old yet, and it has been working fine so far.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

It has been a while now, but I thought I would update this for anyone interested or affected by the same problem we did.

After weeks of back and forth with the ISP and try and test anything and everything we could think, including the replacement of the D7000 in store warranty (not just once but), and nothing is helping, the ISP finally filed a foul for us and sent a CET. And what do we know? There was a flaw in the riding of Telstra which he had found, and which caused our internet connection fails. After that which has been set, we are online again. The line still falls here and there and the phone line is cute, but at least we are connected.

And now I'm fighting with the ISP for refund during all these weeks we were disconnected while they refused to be a mistake for us and have someone out. Time for a new ISP, I think!

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem there.

    Thank you

  • Cannot connect to internet after Windows Update

I was not able to connect to the internet after windows updates 7 of 14 October 2010, unless I have to restore the system to October 13.

    Hi jlm00926,

    ·        Update that you installed before the problem?

    ·        Are you able to connect to the internet properly now?

You can set up your computer in a clean boot state. Subsequently, download & install the update manually from the Microsoft Download Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

Clean boot will start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps eliminate software conflicts.

The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual according to step 7 of the article: how to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

system crashed and had to reinstall service pack 3 system operations. all files lost and now I can not even conect to the enternet. tried everything. need help making a wireless connection... Theres not even a frame local-lan or wireless on my computer

After reinstalling you installed all the drivers for your system? For example for the motherboard (chipset), audio, video, LAN (network adapter) and so on?

If this isn't the case, you will need to do. Support web site of the manufacturer of the computer to check for the drivers for Windows XP for your model specific computer/specifications. You may need to get some drivers directly on the site of manufacturer support / Unit equipment for material or devices you have installed.

NEED HELP IN OBTAINING MY COMPUTER CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET

I recently had to reinstall my computer Dell Dimension 4600 (Windows XP with service pack 1) because the computer crashed I lost all my files.  I worked with a Dell representative for instructions.  Yesterday we finished the installation.  But now I can't connect to the internet.  I tried myself to troubleshooting, but since I'm not well informed on the computer back and donts of installation, nothing worked for me.  Should I upgrade to windows?  Help, what do I do?

    Hello Akobash

Most likely, you have not installed the drivers for your network card. Here is the link for the drivers for your system. You will need to select the arrow next to 'Network' drop-down list, and then select the network appropriate for your system driver. You probably need to register this driver on a flash drive or other portable media. Once you've saved it you can then insert the support in your Dell Dimension 4600, access media, then run the driver installation program. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation, and if necessary, you may need to restart. After that the driver installation network and you can get online I suggest you only install other drivers for your system from the link provided. If you have any questions please let us know. Thank you.

  • computer does not connect to the internet after reinstalling XP SP2 wit

After that the computer we reinstalled windows XP with SP2.  The operating system loaded fine, but don't can't get the computer to connect to the internet.  Went through all the steps suggested even check the Service Manager to ensure that the appropriate services are started.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi DamonBrigham,

-What exactly happens when you connect to the Internet? You get an error message or error code? If Yes, indicate the same.

-Do you have a cable or a wireless connection?

If this is a wired connection, try starting mode safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the Internet successfully.

Networking Mode safe mode starts Windows in mode safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.

See this link for instructions on the boot safe mode with networking:

  • Cannot connect to internet after a reboot before you uninstall and then reinstall the network card. (After the upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista)

This problem started immediately after the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) to Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit).  Again, I want to remind that I never had this problem before installing Windows 7.

-After a reboot, I am presented with the impossible to connect the network indicator (yellow triangle with!) in the task bar.  (It was how I was welcomed after the installation of Windows 7 is said by the way).

-The only way I found to regain connectivity is to uninstall and reinstall the network via the device manager card, date at which the computer always successfully connects and remains connected until the next reboot.

    Network card: Realtek RTL8168C (P) / 811C (P) Family PCI - E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

    Driver provider: Microsoft

  • XP systems cannot connect to internet after updates applied over the weekend (10/29 - 10/31)

    Systems: Dell Optiplex 740

Operating system: XP Pro, SP3.  Connected to the AD network.

    Antivirus: Symantec Endpoint Protection

: Systems imaged with Symantec Solution Suite 2.5, running ghost console client, run office 2007, LotusNotes email client, Adobe Acrobat 9.0 pro, no odd/specialty software.

The following hotfixes have been automatically downloaded and installed this weekend.  (The domain value autoinstall updated policy)

    KB2296011 KB2345886 KB2360937, KB2378111, KB2387149, KB982132, KB979687, KB981957, KB2279986, KB2360131, KB2418241

System ran perfectly before the updates above being installed, applied.

    Symptoms:

1 - log on to the network, sometimes connection takes hours (2-3) to load a new or existing profile.  This seems random, as some profiles allow an immediate connection.
2 - the system does not stop.  Even if gone for 16 hours, it never completes the task.
    3. can access local systems within the network through a UNC path, but very very slow.  Can ping anywhere, ping also solves dns IP (google.com, yahoo.com, etc.).  Can't access a Web page than IE.  Curiously, install google chrome or any other browser allows web access - never through IE, however.
    4. can not view or change the connections of the network adapters.  Hangs and never completed the task.
5 USB devices not already connected to the workstation before above patches do not load/install, even if they were previously on this system.  For example, a USB key that worked Friday does today.
6 - when the screensaver activates, system is not sometimes recover.
7 - safe mode with networking will run without problem.  IE works, connects to the web.  No hardware problem, no connectivity issues.

Here is what I have tried, in all possible and combination orders:

    1. remove each patch listed above.
    2. remove each patch listed above AND any referenced patch.
    3 reinstall the SP3.
    4. remove each piece of software other than the operating system.
5 - disable all services that do not work in safe mode with network.
    6. Remove and reinstall the NIC drivers.

I am at a loss.  I have an image before the explosion, and it works perfectly until these patches are downloaded and installed.  After the restart, bam.  So, I can easily reproduce the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas or clues as to what to try?

If tweaking your third-party provider (i.e., Symantec Endpoint Protection) the firewall settings don't help, try the following:

    1. disable all components Symantec Endpoint AND THEN make sure that the Windows Firewall is enabled.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #5 below.

2 Uninstall "a security update for Windows Internet Explorer 7 (or 8) (2360131)" [or "for Windows XP security update (2360131)" If IE6] via Add/Remove Programs (make sure the box show updates at the top right) and reboot.

    3 d - c #1 above.

    4. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all security critical updates available (e.g., KB2360131).  If an update of root certificates is listed (possibly in the category of the optional software updates on the left side of the scan results window), install it to enjoy enhanced Internet Explorer security.

5 reboot & make sure that all in #1 above is activated again and, if necessary, disable the Windows Firewall and enable your third-party firewall.

  • No internet after reinstalling Windows XP

My problem is that I just reinstalled XP but there are a few brands of yellow questions next to some devices. I am aware that I need to install drivers that windows can recognize these ports.
The thing is, I don't really know the brand of my PC, all I know is that after opening, it appears that the motherboard is fsbighz ddr11800 (incredibly stupid, I know, but the cpu is old enough) I think it's a Dell but the model doesn't. etc I wouldn't be able to tell you.
Using another PC with internet, I managed to locate the drivers that I need (by Googling the motherboard) I then downloaded the software on a CD and ran it on my PC without drivers. However after this software has me only said that the drivers that I need, and he then says that I need an internet connection to update them - which I don't have, so I'm in a situation of almost 22 catches. If I could get copies of the drivers, so I might be able to do, or even simpler - an internet connection on my PC so that I can update these drivers, perhaps through connection sharing the (which I do not know how?)
Any help would be much appreciated

Well, we were close. The image I posted is an ASRock > ALiveNF6G-DVI. What you have is an ASRock > ALiveNF6G-VSTA.

  • Cannot connect to internet after auto update under Vista.

Original title: System shows the connection, but cannot connect

After an automatic update in Vista in mid-August I can no longer connect to the internet.  My system tray shows that I am connected but I can't.  I'm on a DSL wireless connection with a desktop computer (one does not) and a laptop with XP that always works very well.  I re - configure the modem, uninstalled, and reinstalled the wireless card, has run an anti-virus in safemode, uninstalled the Qwest connection network and re-installed AND uninstalled the update to Vista.  I even tried the system restore to an earlier time.  Nothing.  Internet diagnosis says that it cannot solve the problem.  I have read other forums on the UN-checing proxy settings but mine have not been verified.  I re-set my settings IE8 by default.  Uninstall protection against viruses... • Apps de Metro de Windows 8 Pro cannot connect to internet after the first reboot

    Hello

I have recently installed Windows 8 Pro x 64 OEM, and I noticed after awhile that my store, Stocks, Weather, News,... cannot connect to the internet more. However, all other applications work.
Even more strange, after installing all the updates, I noticed that I can navigate with my IE on the desktop, but not a single party of metro?
Long story short, after several relocations (refresh option), I've noticed as a result of behavior:
    1. during the first start after installation, EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY. I can browse, look at the weather, everything store.
    2. when I restart the computer and any time after that, is STOP WORKING.
Another thing I noticed was that his (SoundBlaster Audigy) card didn't work the first time, but after rebooting, it worked, so I guess something happened after the first reboot?
It was a clean install (OEM version) and Windows are activated, and I tried signing in with or without live account (no difference).
Help me please, since this is quite irritating :(

    Hello

    I finally found the problem.
The invisibility of the active network has pushed me towards the answer.
biggest mistake I made was using the option refresh windows, because it was useless for my troubleshooting.
By mistake I chose my first install, public internet connection and the course of the updating of the system did not ask see me that.
In defining the private connection after clean installation (No refresh, brute force reinstall) makes everything work after reboot and completely solved the problem for me.
Why the network does not disappear after reboot? It's something weird, and it shouldn't happen!
The resolution of network problems found no problem, because the internet connection worked, but he had no problem with no network also appear or metro apps does not.
This should be corrected, as it would be a great help in this scenario.
TL; DR: Make sure you set your connection on the private sector, or windows becomes crazy and your metro applications do not work (and I also noticed that visual studio could not deploy projects in this scenario, but that's another story).
  • Firefox cannot connect to internet after some time to be on

    Hello

I posted this question some time ago and since I don't have any solution for work and I still have this problem, I am reposting now. My problem is simple: I start my computer and open Firefox. I browse the internet normally. No problems so far. But lets say I'm going to take a NAP or I stop just from browsing for something else on the computer without closing Firefox or whatever. After a while, I go back to browsing the Firefox (the same window with the same tabs are always open) but now no page will finish loading regardless of how long wait.

I close Firefox and open it again. Next, I get an error popup stating that Firefox is still ongoing and I need to shut it down. When I close this pop-up window then I get another error saying it is impossible to load my profile. I got that close and reopen Firefox. Now, it loads pages normally again but only for 1 or 2 minutes, and no more after that. I repeat the process and I still get the same results until I restart my computer.

I checked for any viruses and I have nothing at all, and there is absolutely no problem with my overall connection since no other programs have this problems only Firefox. What can I do?

    Thank you.

IM Edit: The problem right now and I just checked but looks like some tabs to work and others do not so I don't really understand.
