Connect to the internet window will not appear.

When I I try to bring up the connection to the internet window either by the icons at the bottom of the screen or through my network menu, it won't come back. This makes it difficult for me to connect to networks or see what the networks are avialable. Someone help me please. Thank you

Looks like some system files on your computer is damaged. Try using the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to check and repair corrupt system files.  To do this, follow these steps:

How to run scan SFC

1. click on the Start button

2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories

3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option

4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option

5 If you have the enabled User Account Control (UAC) you will be asked to consent to the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.

6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter

7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.

8. be patient because the analysis may take some time

9. If all of the necessary files any replacement SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue

10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.

11 after the scan finished, close the command prompt window reboot the computer and check.

    My office is using the same pppoe information. I can freely browse the internet and I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I was also shown to be connected simultaneously with both machines, but that the Office can go.

    I do not have Windows Update the laptop since on April 2016. It has not been used and the battery was empty. I tried to turn off the laptop several times, but nothing works.

    Oh, OK, well this isn't probably the problem, but for good measure, you should get the latest version of the software for your printer from the "support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

    In the meantime, we will reset the printing system:

    -Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
    -Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
    WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!

    Start > Control Panel

    Select the Printers folder

    Right-click on the printer icon, then select open

    Are there pending print jobs

    If Yes, click on file > cancel all Documents

    Close the print queue and the printer folder

    Try printing again

    Start > right click on computer

    Select manage

    Select Device Manager

    Click on the + sign next to the Ieee... compatible printer (if any)

    Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

    Click on the + next to imaging devices

    Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

    Click on the + sign next to printers

    Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

    Click on the + sign next to Bus USB controllers

    Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

    Close the Device Manager

    Restart the computer to Windows to reinstall the drivers

    It could have been the feature added by an Extension in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons. You can try updating Firefox , then look for updates for the extension in right-clicked on it in the Add-ons Manager. You can also try an alternative.

  • WRT54G will connect to the network but will not connect to internet

    Guys, I installed an older Linksys CM100 cable modem and when I did I lost the connection to the internet using the WRT54G Router. I can connect fine net when I go to right fromt the modem cable to the pc. I can use my home network very well. I did a firmware upgrade, does not. I'm losing my mind. It worked fine before the new cable modem. Does make sense to anyone? BTW, I can't connect to the internet via wired or wireless connections and ping www.google.com gives 100% packet loss. Ditto for a ping to 192.168.1.100 (cable modem) when the router is connected.

    Thus, because no one here was able to offer all the help, I called tech support and was very surprised. I was able to get a tech immediately and without going through the 1 million on the phone buttons. The issue that I had was that the default IP of the modem cable (192.168.1.100) and ip address of the router (192.168.1.1) were too similar.     I've never dealt with XP MCE, but from what I've seen, you can get ambiguous messages during the installation process.  MCE was never intended for installation by end users; It came normally pre-installed on computers that have the necessary equipment to support additional features 'media '.

    It seems to me that if you have to start over.  First of all, you should get a prompt for "Windows XP Professional CD2" - who wants to have the second of the two CDs.  Then you should get a prompt for "XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD." In response to this prompt, insert the CD first back in.

    Assuming that work better than before, right-click on desktop and select Properties.  If the display shows service pack 2 - which I believe it will be - you only need to install sp3.

    I'm trying to help my brother. We have a Dell Dimension 3000 running Windows XP SP1. The computer has a virus, and a clean installation was completed. That is why, it is show SP1 now that those were records. Everything seems to be OK until trying to connect to the Internet (there's currently IE6). From message which can not find the DNS server.

    I've done several things already including cleaning winsock and winsock2 and reinstall TCP/IP. Manager of network devices is here. I get a ping to the IP address 169.meta XXX but no ping at all outside the site.

    I went into Internet Options menu. I'm lost what to try next. Help!

    Ok. Let me clarify a point. My brother lives in a different House, further away from me. I have the Dell Dimension now home trying to get updated, he had a virus and system has been reloaded. But he was only SP1. I know it will take forever to download and update the machine through dial-up and the disc, he got the ISP did not recognize IE6.

    So, to help my brother, I brought the computer to my house I have a DSL network and I was going to the network it and then do the automatic updates to update the system here and then give it to him. However, I could not the computer to communicate with my network.

    h. click on 'OK '.

    The domain name was still filled to your server?  If in doubt, contact your Web host to confirm the account is activated.  And you have the correct credentials including the root directory connection.
