Connect wireless router by the network to the gateway switch

I have a wireless router is connected to a network switch that is connected to our gateway to Comcast. Devices connected to the wireless router can access the internet without any problem. However, some workstations connected to the switch receive an ip address in the range of the router (192.168.1.x). They cannot access the internet. Is it still a router problem or is it a problem to switch?

The only way to devices connected to the switch can Gets an IP address from the server DHCP of ROUTER2 is if you have the LAN of ROUTER2 port connected to the switch instead of the WAN port.

  • P1102w "unable to communicate with any wireless router using the provided SSID"

Hi all, apologies if there is an answer to that somewhere, I took a look, and several people have had something similar, but without a clear resolution.

I got a job p1102w successfully for about 2 years now and this week he suddenly won't print wireless. No recent changes to the network, no change to the printer, no changes to the computer.

No luck with simple things so I reinstalled the printer (it works via USB), but when I get to the wireless network configuration steps I encountered a problem.  Automatically scan for wireless networks detects my home network, but by selecting translates "unable to communicate with any access point or wireless router using the provided SSID. The same error message occurs when you try to connect to a network wireless of my neighbors.

Any ideas would be very appreciated.

At this point, I would say that there is a problem with the card wireless in the printer.  Do you know if this printer is under warranty?

If your printer is still under warranty, then I suggest call HP for Technical Support on this printer.

  • Can the Airport Extreme connect wireless to my wifi network?

    Hi all

I have an Airport Extreme, which I use only for his Time Machine feature.  Best I can tell the only way he can connect to my wireless network is extending.  Is this correct?

If I use it to extend my wireless network was is the negative impact (if any)?

    Thanks in advance.

You can extend wireless or even join wireless to less the router that you connect to another router from Apple.

If this is the case then it can work well if it is in the range... otherwise, you must plug the AE into the router principal by ethernet and put in place as a separate network wireless access point.

Extend wireless is bad if you are linked to the main router wireless... which will cause huge slow down even if you are in a situation of apple router all.

    This is what happens:

I go to network and sharing Center to connect:

The sky connection is to me, with an intense sound signal:

He then quickly says "successfully connected to sky", although the network & sharing poster always the router as "id" and without internet access:

What I can do is to reset the router by unplugging the power for a few seconds, allowing a restart. After that, the PC connects fine and I can access the main router page:

I don't want to have to reset the router whenever it goes well! Any help on why this is happening and what's wrong with my settings would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I think that there is a profile saved on your wireless computer.

What is the operating system on your computer?

Delete the profile on your wireless computer. I think you are using the wireless adapter intel on this computer.

Open the Intel wireless card utility. You will find the profiles saved on your computer. Delete the profile of wireless network you are trying to connect.

Now, open the wireless router configuration page. Go to the wireless tab and check the name of the wireless network. Click the Wireless Security tab and check the wireless security settings. Make sure you have the key/password network correct.

Now try to connect to the network again.

If it's windows XP operating system, then you can also connect to the network wireless using windows wireless network utility.

  • No connection wireless or in My Network Places or the system tray. Help!

I had a wireless network icon in the system tray and my network earlier connections. I replaced my with a different user account (I deleted the previous). After the opening of the new account, there was no icon on the system tray wireless network, or in the my network connections. I tried setting up of wireless connections, but that does not work either. I use WINDOWS XP. What should I do? It could be a problem of drivers not installed. If so, please tell me where to download them (just send me the link). Tell me what to do in Windows XP.

Problem solved by myself. Thank you.

  • 4600 pro connects to the Linksys WAG354 Wireless router!

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with internal wireless card. I'm trying to connect to my Linksys WAG354 wireless router. The laptop seems to connect but only get a connection status ' Limited or no connectivity "note computer says it has problem because the network has not assigned a network address of the computer.

I called Linksys, but the call center do not have a lot of help! They said that I should update the driver for the Toshiba wireless... I did that, but still the same problem.

I am running windows XP. I have two other laptops connected to the router WAG354 and they work fine.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I agree with Michael. I think that some false setting is responsible for this. If your network is visible for the laptop, the features of the card are OK and the problem parameters.

  • How to share files and printers between windows xp desktop that is connected to a wireless router with a laptop running windows 7. printer is connected to the desktop computer

With respect to the sharing of printer (s), microsoft has a utility called 'Print Migrator'

Download & install, create copy, send a copy to the other pc to share its use.

  • Wireless router wired to the router wireless help?

I have a linksys wireless router and have run an ethernet cable to my desktop which is outside my house. I have the ethernet running into a hub for computer cable then switch (hub). I want to add wireless access in the office. Can I add another wireless router to the desktop and plug it into the power switch? How can I do this?

    1. Follow the instructions for 'LAN to LAN' Cascading in the link below:

In waterfall or connect a Linksys router to another router

Thing to keep in mind when cascading a router:

    1. Change the IP address of the secondary router to something like 192.168.1.254 so its on the same network, but is not in conflict with the main router
    2. Make sure that the DHCP service is disabled on the secondary router
    3. Make sure that nothing is ever connected to the internet port of the secondary router
    4. Differentiate the wireless SSID by location (Ex: downstairs) and the channel
