Connecting a laptop to a WRT160N Linux

Finally got round to install a WRT160N over the weekend.

I got to the top and running with a variety of hardware (wired and wireless), but I can't get my son portable Linux to connect.

Is there a problem with Linux connectivity to WRT160N (V1) routers?  Are there drivers anywhere?

The Linux version in question is the latest version of Fedora 10. (Sorry I'm not Linux guru, my son is)

The same laptop connect when it is initialized with Windows.  I have other material connected with success - a Sony's WiFi multimedia receiver and a Wii, as well as a laptop under Vista.  I can't get the laptop Linux to connect.

I tried setting the rear connection of type N mixed b/g.  No improvement.

Is this a problem of driver or setting?

This error message you get when you try to connect to your network when it is initialized with Linux... If you have the connection when it is initialized with Windows is not a router issue...

  • 39L4333DG will not connect to laptop WiDi - timeout

I'm tempted to try to get the WiDi to work.
First of all: TV is updated to the latest version via autoupdate.
Laptop is 2nd generation than i7 2675 WiDi compatible with all the latest drivers.

I can detect the TV, I can try to connect. Laptop request PIN, the PIN is displayed on the TV.
TV says then connects, so it is portable. After a while (like 30 seconds) the TV said that there was a timeout. Laptop keeps trying to connect for a few seconds more and that's it.

Any idea what the problem might be?

    > Laptop is 2nd generation than i7 2675 WiDi compatible with all the latest drivers.

First, please check if computer laptop supports WLan Intel WiDi appropriate card.
Where it is, you must update the Intel WiDi software.

Here, on this page from Intel, you will find the required software from Intel:

You must update: Intel®, Intel® Wireless Driver driver.

  • Toshiba laptops work well with Linux?

I'm a big fan of Toshiba, but it's the last time I buy a Toshiba product. Producing none of Toshiba laptops running Linux? Least toshiba engineers could do is to make sure that a live ubuntu cd works on the laptop, to make sure that the fan starts and check maybe even the graphics driver works. If it's the fault of ubuntu then drop a bug in launchpad. As far as I know, none of the new Toshiba laptops have a fan that works properly, don't waste your money.

    > All computers laptop Toshiba work well with Linux?
In General, they work well with Linux. If you see this section of Linux, you'll see that menu use Linux on various models of Toshiba laptops.

Officially, Linux is not supported on Toshiba laptops and it may happen that you will have a few small problems with Toshiba specific things like the multimedia keys.

  • Equium A100-147: can I connect my laptop to my desktop hard drive?

My computer laptop satellite has a permanent error when I turn it on: "autochk program not found - skipping autocheck.

I've tried everything I can think (and advice of you internet) to get the data on my laptop hard drive, including the creation of a boot disk (using an external floppy drive) and a knoppix disk and nothing worked.

Now, I suppose that if I can connect the hard drive laptop on my desk, I can get the data in this way? But how can I do?

I bought an IDE 3.5 "to 2.5" adapter disk hard drive, but the instructions indicate that laptop hard drive must have a male connector 44? The hard drive is a Toshiba MK6034GSX and when I removed it I couldn't see 44 pine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Yes you can do it, but you need USB 2.0 2.5 hard drive enclosure Kit ".
Make sure that you buy a box with the right interface. Your HARD drive is SATA HDD.

If you can connect the laptop HDD s to every desktop or laptop as external HARD drive and you will have access to all stored data.

  • Connect a laptop running Windows XP to a LCD via HDMI

    Hello

I did a fresh install of windows XP SP3 on my Sony Vaio Z series. I bought a HDMI cable to connect my laptop to an LCD (DYNEX 32 '') so that I could watch movies and so. Unfortunately, the LCD doesn't detect any signal from my laptop. Is there a solution for this problem... I have to install some driver or what?

    Please advice...

    Hello, mykhtarz

Since you have made a new installation, it is likely, that you do not have the required driver installed software to automatically switch to the HDMI. I recommend first check with the manufacturer for updated driver software.

There may also be a combination of keys on the laptop to change HDMI manually, usually a combination of # FN + F. You'll need to refer to the documentation of your laptop for which key can control the HDMI.

You can also go into the display properties and change the default view for the HDMI. To check the display properties, follow these steps:

    1. Click Startand then click Control Panel.
    2. Click appearance and themes, and then click display.
    3. In the settings of the display properties dialog box tab, click the icon of the monitor that represents the monitor you want to designate as the primary monitor.
    4. Click to select the use this device as the primary monitor check box. Note that this check box is not available when you select the icon of the monitor that is currently set as your primary monitor.

    Hello

With Docking Station, you can connect all the cables for printer, keyboard and mouse, adapter directly to the charging station.

So whenever you use a laptop, you have just dock the laptop on the docking station and not need to re connect all cables again.

This will help you when you move frequently with the laptop.

Docking station will save your time, outside any other aspect, that it has to offer.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Unable to connect 2 laptop HP Officejet Pro 8610

I have 2 HP laptops each with Win7 (64 bit) SP1 and I'm trying to connect to the computer laptop 2nd in an OfficeJet Pro8610 to print wireless.  I tried using the CD rom and download the drivers online but I can connect this laptop to the printer.  I get to a point where the login process requires the printers claim id code but when I enter the code I got a message that this code is already in use (the other laptop is connected wireless) and in order to connect, I have to delete the other laptop.  I am at a loss here because I had both the same laptops connected to my old 6700 OfficeJet and could print without any problem installing wireless at all.

What I'm missing here with the 8610?  Thank you

The code you enter is likely to set up ePrint for the printer address.  Once this has been done it is not necessary to do it again.

An alternative is that the laptop is connected directly to the printer with direct wireless wireless.  In this case, you will need to disconnect the laptop computer from the printer to use the other laptop.

A better configuration would be to connect the printer to your router wither wireless or cable LAN cable.  It would give the IP address which you can find by pressing the front panel of the printer to the printer (if the printer is in mode "sleep"), then tap the wireless at the bottom of the screen.  This will bring up the LAN wireless status, where you can find the IP address of the printer.

You should be able to set up the printer with the driver available at http://www.hp.com/go/toolsinstallation wizard.
